        장애인에 관한 신문사진의 특성 연구 : 조선일보·한겨레신문을 중심으로 Focusing on the chosunllbo and the Hankyere

        The purpose of this study is to analyze how Newspaper's photos are representing a handicapped person through content analysis. This study examines the content of the handicapped person photos on two newspapers, the Chosunllbo and the Hankyere, from March, 2003 to June, 2004. Through content analysis, the quantity and space of Newspaper photos, the related photos of Newspaper stories and photos, subjects of photos and the categories of the Handicapped person were checked. A total of 238 newspaper photos were analyzed in this study. Results of this study showed that there were difference of contents and subjects of photos between the Chosunllbo and the Hankyere. More specifically, the results of the analysis demonstrated that a success and praiseworthy stories photos in the Chosunllbo are more many than in the Hankyere, on the other hand, the demonstration and rights of the handicapped person's photos were more many than in the Chosunllbo. And the Hankyere was to emphasize policy issues of the handicapped person over personal images. Finally, both the Chosunllbo and the Hankyere were more likely to rely on emotional appeals. But the Hankyere relied less on emotional appeals than in the Chosunllbo. This study is focused on content analysis of the handicapped person photos But this study has a many limitations not enough to analyze the quantitative and qualitative attribution of newspaper's photos. Thus I wish to overcome this limitation through deep case studies.

      • 텅스텐(Ⅴ)-티오시안산 置換 피리딘錯物의 合成과 그 性質

        Two types of thiocyanato-tungsten(Ⅴ)-substituted pyridine complexes, such as WO NCS)₃(x-py)₂(x-py)(x-py were pyridine, 2-amino pyridine, 3.5- lutidine and 2- amino-4-picoline) and WO(OH)(NCS)₂(x-py)(x-py were pyridine, α-picoline, 2-amino pyridine and 4-acetylpridine) have been prepared. The physical properties such as conductances, magnetic moment and spectroscopy of the thiocyanato-tungsten(Ⅴ)-substituted pyridine complexes have been studied. From the results the complexes are paramagnetism and none-ionic complexes. It is found that the these tungsten(Ⅴ) complexes are insoluble in water, alcohol, acetone or dimethyl formamide, etc. and unstable in air atomosphere. From the assignment of the infrared spectra of the thiocyanato-tungsten(Ⅴ)-substituted pyridine complexes, it was shown that tungsten was combined with nitrogen of thiocyanate ligand.

        Differential Regulation of ErbB2 Expression by cAMP-Dependent Protein Kinase in Tamoxifen-Resistant Breast Cancer Cells

        Acquired resistance to tamoxifen (TAM) is a serious therapeutic problem in breast cancer patients, and Her-2/ErbB2 expression is associated with decreased sensitivity to TAM. We previously reported that cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA)-mediated activator protein-2 (AP-2) activation was responsible for the expression of Her-2/ErbB2 in p53-inactivated mammary epithelial cells (Yang et al., 2006). In the present study, we tested the hypothesis that PKA plays a role in the expression of ErbB2 in tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer cells. Treatment with H-89, a specific PKA inhibitor, suppressed 4-hydroxytamoxifen-induced ErbB2 expression in control MCF-7 cells. In contrast, PKA inhibition by H-89 or cAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor $I{\gamma}$ overexpression increased the expression levels of ErbB2 in TAM-resistant MCF-7 (TAMR-MCF-7) cells. Transcriptional regulation of the erbB2 gene depends on two transcription factors, AP-2 and polyomavirus enhancer activator3 (PEA3). H-89 decreased nuclear or total levels of PEA3 in TAMR-MCF-7 cells. Chromatin immunoprecipitation assay results revealed that H-89 treatment reduced PEA3 binding to the proximal Ets binding site of the erbB2 gene promoter. Reporter gene analyses using human erbB2 gene promoter supported the critical role of PEA3 in the overexpression of ErbB2 in TAMR-MCF-7 cells treated with H-89. This deregulated PKA signaling cascades required for the ErbB2 expression may be important for the differential response of TAM-resistant breast cancer cells to EGF/ErbB2 stimuli.

        영화에서의 음악의 역할은 중요하다. 영화에서의 내러티브를 전개, 암시해주며, 관객들로 하여금 영화에 더욱 몰입할 수 있도록 감성을 유도한다. 영화음악을 작곡하는데 있어서 선율, 박자, 화성의 연관성을 중요하게 생각하기도 하지만, 특히 서스펜스, 미스테리 스릴러에서의 긴장감을 위한 영화음악은 테레민 악기만이 가지고 있는 고유의 음색으로 음악적 연출이 가능하다. Music has played an important role in Films. It develops the narrative of the movie and it emotionally pulls the audience into the film. In composing film music, you need to put a bigger emphasis on the Interrelationship between melody, rhythm and harmony. However, to create more tension in the genre of suspense or thrillers, it is possible to direct music with the unique tone color such as theremin machinelike instrument.

      • Bifunctional effects of fucoidan on the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase

        Algal fucoidan is a marine sulfated polysaccharide with a wide variety of biological activities including anti-thrombotic and antiinflammatory effects. This study evaluated the effect of fucoidan on the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in a macrophage cell line, RAW264.7. Low concentration range of fucoidan (10 μg/ml) increased the basal expression level of iNOS in quiescent macrophages. However, we found for the first time that fucoidan inhibited the release of nitric oxide (NO) in RAW264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Western blot analysis revealed that fucoidan suppressed the LPS-induced expression of the inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) gene. Moreover, the activation of both nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and activator protein 1(AP-1) are key steps in the transcriptional activation of the iNOS gene. Here, it was revealed that fucoidan selectively suppressed AP-1 activation, and that the activation of AP-1 appears to be essential for the induction of iNOS in activated macrophages. This inhibitory effect on AP-1 activation by fucoidan might be associated with its NO blocking and anti-inflammatory effects.

        Nitrogen Fertilization on the Growth of Rape (Brassica napus L.) in Newly Reclaimed Land in Korea

        This study was conducted to find out the optimum nitrogen application rate for the stable production of rape in the newly reclaimed land located at Gangwhal region of Saemangum reclaimed land in which the soil is sandy loam (Munpo series). There were five treatments of nitrogen fertilization from zero to 60% increment based on the standard fertilization of $150kg\;ha^{-1}$. The growth of rape (Sunmang) was not affected by salt content while soil salinity was increased at blossoming season of rape. Compared to yield of standard fertilization the yield and the content of oleic acid of rape were increased by 4~26% with the increasing additional nitrogen fertilizer. The results obtained from the growth and yield of rape in this study indicated that it was possible to cultivate rape in a newly reclaimed land if soil salinity was kept below $3dS\;m^{-1}$.

      • GPR119: a promising target for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

        <P>Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is associated with metabolic syndrome and has the unique characteristic of excess lipid accumulation in liver. G-protein-coupled receptor 119 (GPR119) is a promising target for type 2 diabetes. However, the role of GPR119 activation in hepatic steatosis and its precise mechanism has not been investigated. In primary cultured hepatocytes from wild-type and GPR119 knockout (KO) mice, expression of lipogenic enzymes was elevated in GPR119 KO hepatocytes. Treatment of hepatocytes and HepG2 cells with GPR119 agonists in phase 2 clinical trials (MBX-2982 [MBX] and GSK1292263) inhibited protein expression of both nuclear and total sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP)-1, a key lipogenesis transcription factor. Oral administration of MBX in mice fed a high-fat diet potently inhibited hepatic lipid accumulation and expression levels of SREBP-1 and lipogenesis-related genes, whereas the hepatic antilipogenesis effects of MBX were abolished in GPR119 KO mice. MBX activated AMPK and increased Ser-372 phosphorylation of SREBP-1c, an inhibitory form of SREBP-1c. Moreover, inhibition of AMPK recovered MBX-induced down-regulation of SREBP-1. These findings demonstrate for the first time that the GPR119 ligand alleviates hepatic steatosis by inhibiting SREBP-1-mediated lipogenesis in hepatocytes.</P>

        The nose is the most prominent visible and central feature of the human face. Its size, shape, and configuration, therefore, play a significant role in the determination of man's appearance. Real or imaged deformity of the nose is highly significant in the individual's conception of his own self image. The nose is also a highly developed, complex and functional, organ. Its highly specialized nerves. lining membranes, delicate mobile cartilages, intrinsic muscles, and specialized vibrissage are essential for normal olfaction, taste, and the filterning, humidifiaction, and temperature regulation of inspired air. Practically, surgical reconstruction of the nose is limited to the maintenance of an adequate air passage into the nasopharynx and the replacement of lining, support, and covering tissue by various flaps and grafts. We have utilized skin graft, Brachial flap, and forehead flap to repair various types of defects of the nose.
