        Abstract Financial slack refers to a firm's excess holding of liquid assets above what is necessary for the normal operation. There are still controversies about why firms should maintain financial slack and what the optimal amount of financial slack is. In imperfect market, financial slack becomes relevant to the firm value through the effect of tax, agency problem, information asymmetry. This thesis examined the effect of information asymmetry on the level of financial slack. It was found that R&D investments have positive effects on the financial slacks.

      • 고성토의 암성토에 대한 흙의 함유율이 다짐에 미치는 효과에 관한 실험적 연구

        We have carried out the field compaction tests in the site in which the high rock fill embankments are going to be constructed about 25m in height, to examine the effect of the soil fraction to the total embankment materials which are the mixture of rock fills and soils on the degree of field compaction. We have made four sets of in-situ concrete boxes of the size of 1.5m×1.5m×0.6m to obtain the maximum dry density of total embankment materials after compacting by using a 10-ton vibrating tamping roller. We have found, as a result, that the optimum passing number of the roller to yield the 90% of relative compaction economically attainable has appeared to be 8 passes, and that the percent of the soil fraction to the total embankment materials to yield the 90% of relative compation in the field has appeared to be 41.78% by weight.

        압축천연가스기관에서 부스트압력 변화에 따른 성능 및 배출가스에 관한 실험적 연구

        Recently, air pollution is increased according to increase of vehicle. So many countries are studying about compressed natural gas engine. Research on the development of CNG dedicated engine that has important meaning both as a clean fuel and an alternative energy to reduce the exhaust emission from diesel engine are actively going on these days. In this study, the characteristics of CNG engine was investigated and the engine performance experimented by changing the parameters such as boost pressure. The CNG engine performance and exhaust emission were measured by engine performance mode at maximum load condition with increasing the rpm in the range of 1,000 ∼ 2,200rpm. The exhaust emission was also measured at D-13 mode and compared to the emission regulation.

      • 산소과급 시스템을 이용한 대형디젤기관의 연소 및 유동특성 예측에 관한 연구

        Many diesel engine manufactures make an efforts to reduce NOx and soot emissions exhausted from engines under pressure. Also, it has been required to comply with new stringent emission standards while improving engine efficiencies. The optimized oxygen enrichment level has been studied as well as a retardation of injection timing and a swirl ratio. Based on this parameter study, a numerical simulation has been conducted to analyze a heavy-duty diesel engine combustion in multidimensional models. A reduced chemistry approach is applied by using computational fluid dynamics techniques. The models under current development are incorporated into KIVA-3V code for validation. As a result, combustion and inside flow characteristics have been well predicted by suggesting various engine parameters and optimal condition.

        인터페이스 회로를 적용한 디젤기관의 배출가스특성에 관한 실험적 연구

        In order to collect the engine performance data and determine optimum engine conditions, engine performance test based on interface unit were tested. This paper was carried out that engine' performance was developed using interface unit between personal computer and diesel engine. The results of the study are summarized as follows: Interface unit was developed. By using PAL, Simulation was carried in order to logic's inspection. From this test, NOx were decreased, otherwise PM were increased. By using EGR system, PM were increased by twice in the high load ranges, it was not seen to come into effect in the low load ranges. This system was tested D13 mode, the results were decreased more than 50% in the NOx emission.

      • ULSD 使用에 따른 機關性能과 排氣가스 및 DOC에 미치는 影響에 關한 實驗的 硏究

        Automobile industries have been developed rapidly mainly as a key manufacturing industry. On the other hands, atmosphere pollution is getting worse noticeably than in any other times. In the diesel emission, PM(Particulate Matter) and NOx(Nitrogen Oxidation) have been exhausted with a great amount and the regulation is getting stringent. In order to develop a low emission engine, it is necessary to research on better quality of fuel. Sulfur contained in fuel is transformed to sulfur compound by DOC(Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) and then it causes to increase of sulfate-laden PM on the surface of catalyst. Recently diesel automobile industries are focused on the development of reduction techniques on PM by modifying combustion of sulfur in fuel. In this research, ULSD(Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel) is used as a fuel and some experimental results are investigated. ULSD can reduce not only PM but also gas materials because cetane value, flash point, distillation 90%, pour point and viscosity are improved in the process of desulfurization. However, excessively reduced sulfur may cause to decrease lubricity of fuel and engine performance in fuel injection system. Therefore, it requires only modest adjusted amount of sulfur can improve engine performance and DOC, as well as decrease of emission.

        DOC의 K-7 Mode에 의한 배기가스 저감에 관한 연구

        With the significant growth of the number of vehicles, environmental problems is raised. NOx, SOx, and PM emissions in diesel powered vehicles are larger than that in gasoline, because the development of pollutants reduction techniques has no: been yet achieved. So it is need to develop after-treatment or to convert into alternative fuel to satisfy emission regula-tion. Among the after-treatment systems to reduce the diesel emissions, studies with diesel oxidation catalyst(DOC) are done greatly. In this study using DOC, reduction efficiency with the change of temperature and catalyst loading was calculated through measurements of CO, HC, PM, and SOx.

        The CAPM of Sharpe and Linther is the very popular asset pricing model because of its simplicity and its practicability. Many researchers tried to examine whenther the linear relation between the returns and the risks holds as predicted. The results, however, were somewhat contradicting. Especially those who found unsatisfacory results represented possible causes of such departures. And most of these causes were concerned with the assumptions upon which the CAPM is based. This paper examines the testability of the CAPM more basically. In section Ⅱ, the mathematic properties of the efficient set are derived. The testable hypothesis of the CAPM and its problems are described in section Ⅲ, and section Ⅳ contains the summary and the conclusion.

      • Graham Greene 소설의 소재가 되는 여행기 분석(2) : Journey Without Maps

        This thesis aims at the study of Graham Greene's Travel Writings as the sources of his novels, such as Brighton Rock(1938), and The Heart of the Matter(1948). When he was in the childhood, he was very much interested in traveling in strange countries in his mind. To realize his early dreams, he left England for the first time as a young man. He traveled West Africa without the maps. His travel was to project his child's imagination during his Berkamsted school. The background of Brighton Rock is the terrains he explored, West Africa, where an atmosphere of fear and menace prevailed. The cruel and wicked world cescribed in his travel writings became the background of Brighton Rock in the civilized one. Brighton Rock deals with Pinky who indulges in murdering as an incarnation of evil. The background of The Heart of the Matter is Freetown, West Africa, which Graham Greene wrote his first travel writing about. The fear he felt there proves idle for when he next has the opportunity to describe the town, in the novel The Heart of the Matter, he again seems capable of recalling only the sense of squalor, ugliness, and decay that pervaded the place. Greene says in the travelogue that Africa suggests to him not a particular place but a shape which is roughly that of the human heart. Journey without Maps is the first travel writing that Graham Greene wrote about his journey. His travel book, the Liberian adventure, is called the "turning point" in Greene's development as a writer and accordingly describes Journey without Maps as the pivotal item on the list of his writings. Following the Liberian journey, however, the focus and quality of his novels changes. Greene is for the first time intent on suggesting the dimensions of the unsolvable mystery of the human condition, beyond or beneath and sociological or historical or psychological explanation.
