        Effect of CBN surface coating on properties of abrasive and vitrified CBN composites

        The advantages of CBN abrasive and vitrified bonds allow the wide use of vitrified CBN grinding tools. However, theirproperties can be affected by various factors such as vitrification itself and binding between vitrified bond and abrasive grains. In view of this, the current work aims to improve the binding characteristics of vitrified bond and abrasive grains byelucidating the effect of CBN surface coating. In particular, the thermal properties of typical nickel and titanium coatedabrasive grains were compared with those of ordinary abrasive grains. Furthermore, the strength, microstructure and phasecomposition of vitrified CBN composites were studied as well. According to the results, the thermal stability of abrasive grainsdecreased after coating processing. However, applying the vitrified CBN composite material and sintering, if appropriable, wasshown to ensure protection of the abrasive grains. Moreover, as an intermediate transition layer, the bonding properties ofvitrified bond and abrasive grains can be improved to some extent. Finally, the vitrified Ti-coated CBN composite was foundto possess the best performance.

        Population genetic variations of the matrix metalloproteinases-3 gene revealed hypoxia adaptation in domesticated yaks (Bos grunniens)

        Objective: As an iconic symbol of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and of high altitude, yak are subjected to hypoxic conditions that challenge aerobic metabolism. Matrix metalloproteinases-3 (MMP3) is assumed to be a key target gene of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α that function as a master regulator of the cellular response to hypoxia. Therefore, the aim of this investigation was to identify the DNA polymorphism of MMP3 gene in domestic yak and to explore its possible association with high-altitude adaptation. Methods: The single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) genotyping and mutations scanning at the MMP3 locus were conducted in total of 344 individuals from four domestic Chinese yak breeds resident at different altitudes on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, using high-resolution melting analysis and DNA sequencing techniques. Results: The novel of SNPs rs2381 A→G and rs4331 C→G were identified in intron V and intron VII of MMP3, respectively. Frequencies of the GG genotype and the G allele of SNP rs2381 A→G observed in high-altitude Pali yak were significantly higher than that of the other yak breeds resident at middle or low altitude (p<0.01). No significant difference was mapped for SNP rs4331 C→G in the yak population (p>0.05). Haplotype GC was the dominant among the 4 yak breeds, and Pearson correlation analysis showed that the frequencies of GC was significantly lower in Ganan (GN), Datong (DT), and Tianzhu white yaks (TZ) compared with Pali (PL) yak. The two SNPs were in moderate linkage disequilibrium in high-altitude yaks (PL) but not in middle-altitude (GN, DT) and low-altitude (TZ) yaks. Conclusion: These results indicate that MMP3 may have been subjected to positive selection in yak, especially that the SNP rs2381 A→G mutation and GC haplotypes might contribute to adaptation for yak in high-altitude environments.

        Investigating the miscibility of poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)/poly (lactic acid) mixtures through multi-scale simulation and experiments

        The processability and practical applications of poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) /poly (lactic acid) (PLA) blends are limited due to their lower miscibility. To investigate the miscibility of various PBAT/PLA composite ratios and the mechanism of miscibility between them, PBAT/PLA blends with different ratios were prepared using the melt mixing method. A combination of multi-scale simulations and experiments were employed to investigate the miscibility of the composites. Molecular dynamics simulations analyzed PBAT/PLA mixtures that are incompatible and showed the molecular basis of their incompatibility through the radial distribution function (RDF). The degree of miscibility of different ratios of PBAT/PLA composites was described using the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter, indicating that the 50/50 PBAT/PLA blend has the worst miscibility. Mesoscopic dynamics described the mesoscopic morphology of PBAT and PLA blends visually. The results obtained from the simulations were consistent with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) experiments, indicating the simulations' reliability. This work provides a molecular perspective on the mechanism of thermodynamic insolubility of PBAT and PLA, which can inspire future PBAT/PLA hybrid modifications.

        Effects of ZrO2 on physical and mechanical properties of vitrified bond CBN composite materials

        The effects of ZrO2 on the physical and mechanical properties of vitrified bond and vitrified boron nitride (CBN) compositeswere systematically investigated. The basic vitrified bond (B2O3-Al2O3-SiO2-Li2O-Na2O) and ZrO2 make up the vitrified bond,and then constitute the vitrified CBN composites consists together with CBN abrasives. The addition of ZrO2 has a certaininfluence on refractoriness, liquidity, bending strength of vitrified bond. With the increase of adding amount of ZrO2 therefractoriness of vitrified bonds gradually rises, and fluidity of vitrified bonds becomes lower. When the ZrO2 addition amountreaches a certain extent, the crystalline phase-ZrSiO4 will appear during the sintering process. In addition, the ZrO2 can addto a certain extent, improve the strength of the bond and CBN composites, when ZrO2 addition amount of 8 wt.%, theperformance of the vitrified bond is the most. Its value changes from 69.74 MPa to 87.45 MPa.

Heaven materialize nature and feelings that together in mind, the benevolence is substance, and mind is function. T’oegyehak regard highly Confucian tradition of education, he treat moral cultivation as ultimate aim in the all human phases. He carry out the seriousness in all practice actions. Lee T’oegyehak’s ten drawings on sage leaning is a development from zhuxi’s thought, it put up wholly T’oegyehak, view of scholarship. [Article in Chinese]

        Liu Jishan’ Doctrine of Good and Evil in His Pre-Modern Consciousness

        劉蕺山融和理學和心學二派, 以氣爲万物的構成基元, 同時從天人一理的角度, 認爲天地万物的枢纽就是人心的枢纽, 意卽人心的枢纽。蕺山從纠正陽明后學“虛玄而蕩、情識而肆”的流弊出發, 着意突出“意”的決定后天念頭髮生的先天意向這一作用, 强調意是心之所存而非心之所發, 意是獨體, 是超出具體善惡的至善。“誠意”是保任先天本有之意根不受形氣的染汚, 誠意卽是愼獨。蕺山最重視《大學》, 以《大學》的誠意爲全部學術的出發点, 突出心有主宰之意, 歸顯于密, 反對朱子和陽明以心之所發釋意, 尤其反對陽明“四句敎”, 强調意的至善品格。 Liu Jishan crasis the School of Mind and the School of Principle, decide the material force as basis of all things. He consider that mind is the hinge of all things and that will is the hinge of mind. Jishan was from the point of view that correct the abuses in Wang Yangming’ followers: emptiness of mind and libertinism in desire. He pop out the will’s function that the decision of ideas in experience but was transcendent it-self. In the Jianshan’s view, will was superior to Good and evil, and was subsistent forever. Effort of sincerity of the will was maintenance of connatural root of the good from pollution of the body and desire. Jishan regard the book of Great learning as the jumping-off place all of his doctrines. Jishan pop out the will’s station of dominate. And opposed Wang Yangming’s “Four-Sentence Teaching”.
