The influence of the asymmetric rolling process (ASR) and thickness reduction on the microstructure and mechanical propertiesof Al–Mg–Si alloys is studied. The specimens of the ASR and higher thickness reduction show higher strength (both theultimate tensile strength and yield strength) and lower elongation (El). However, both the strength and El are reduced withthe increase of the rotation speed ratio (ω1/ω2) in the specimens treated by the ASR. The grain size, density of dislocations, volume fraction of deformation texture and number density of precipitates are the main reasons causing the difference instrength and El. The increment in strength is mainly due to the increase of deformation texture, density of dislocations duringthe cold rolling and number density of precipitates formed during subsequent ageing. The reduction of volume fractionof deformation texture and number density of precipitates are responsible for the decrease of the strength in the specimenstreated by the ASR. The high-density dislocations in turn provide little room for the accumulation of dislocations and thereforereduces the EI.

Sino-South Korea FTA is an important part for the integration of the Asian economy, and tariff cuts in goods for the trade liberalization is critical for their negotiation. The nature of competition and complement in the industrial structure of the two parties, while being a significant trade partner for each other, becomes the objective economic base as well as the political consideration to construct the FTA .The existing tariff arrangements reflect the presence of opportunities for the benefits exchange in addition to the difficulties of the tariff cuts in the sensitive areas. China and South Korea have already accumulated a wealth of experience in tariff cuts in their respective bilateral FTA practice. Currently the two parties have adopted the two-track system in their negotiation for tariff cuts similar to the ASEAN mode, and the Sino-South Korea FTA is expected to be the one of "balance of interests, high level and win-win" free trade agreements.

Abstract

Bicycle-sharing systems are a new type of transportation service that provides bicycles for shared use; they allow users to rent a bicycle at one station, ride it, and return it to another station in the same city. A predictive model is needed to forecast the rental demand to improve user satisfaction and increase profits. To effectively predict the rental demand in such bicycle-sharing systems, we propose a moment-based model and a new hybrid approach that combines a fuzzy C-means (FCM)-based genetic algorithm (GA) with a back propagation network (BPN). This FCM-based GA is a new unsupervised classification method that is used to pre-classify historical rental records into groups. The classification results are then fed into a BPN predictor, which is trained using these categorized records. After training, the BPN predictor can predict the demand at future moments. Finally, we present a case study based on real-life data to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach.

Highlights

Fuzzy c-means clustering has been employed to classify the bicycle rental records.

An evolutionary algorithm has been employed to improve the cluster centers using fuzzy c-means clustering.

The neural network with back propagation has been used to predict the bicycle rental demand for weekend and working days.

Agricultural products exhibit a “buffering nature”during autoclaving and fermentation processes: i.e., thefinal pH of agricultural product medium after Monascusfermentation maintains a certain value. The protein contentof agricultural products strongly affects the bufferingcapacity and an extremely low final pH, below 3, can beachieved by the selection of agricultural products with lowprotein content, such as rice meal and cornmeal. This lowpH can be used to inhibit citrinin biosynthesis duringMonascus fermentation. Thus, optimal selection of agriculturalproducts with low protein content may provide a novelstrategy to inhibit citrinin production in submerged cultureof Monascus anka at a low initial pH for the production ofMonascus pigments. pH values ranging from 2.6 to 3 canbe maintained in Monascus fermentation using cornmeal/wheat starch (30:30 g/L) as substrate at initial pH 2.5,where the concentration of intracellular pigments reaches45 AU at 470 nm while citrinin is undetectable by TLCanalysis.
Electrospun non-leaching biocombatible antimicrobial cellulose acetate nanofibrous mats
Rong Li,Xuehong Ren,Qianyuan Jiang,Zhiwei Xie,Tung-Shi Huang 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.27 No.-
In this study cellulose acetate (CA) was modified with 4,40-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI, an Nhalamineprecursor) in solution to form chemical bonds between CA and MDI to avoid the potentialrelease of biocides from CA. Nanofibers were obtained by electrospinning the CA–MDI solution. Theobtained CA–MDI nanofibers were characterized by FT-IR, SEM, TGA and DSC. TGA and DSC dataindicated that the CA–MDI nanofibers before and after chlorination had good thermal stability comparedwith CA nanofibers. 58% of active chlorine was lost after 2 h of UVA irradiation, and most of the activechlorine was lost after 4 h of UVA irradiation. However, about 85% of the chlorine could be regeneratedby rechlorination after 24 h of UVA irradiation. The active chlorine of the chlorinated nanofibers releasedslowly in water. The chlorinated CA–MDI nanofibers showed excellent antimicrobial properties againstEscherichia coli O157:H7 and Staphylococcus aureus within brief contact times. Also, the chlorinated CA–MDI nanofibers showed good biocompatibility.
Horizontal transfer of the C-termini of tccC genes in Photorhabdus and Xenorhabdus
Richou Han,Zubing Zhan,Xuehong Qiu 한국유전학회 2016 Genes & Genomics Vol.38 No.8
The high molecular weight insecticidal toxin complexes (Tcs), including four toxin-complex loci (tca, tcb, tcc and tcd), were first identified in Photorhabdus luminescens W14. Each member of tca, tcb or tcc is required for oral toxicity of Tcs. However, the sequence sources of the C-termini of tccC3, tccC4, tccC6 and tccC7 are unknown. Here, we performed a whole genome survey to identify the orthologs of Tc genes, and found 165 such genes in 14 bacterial genomes, including 40 genes homologous to tccC1-7 in P. luminescens TT01. The sequence sources of the C-termini of tccC2-6 were determined by sequence analysis. Further phylogenetic investigations suggested that the C-termini of 6 tccC genes experienced horizontal gene transfer events.
