        Biofilm formation in food processing plants and novel control strategies to combat resistant biofilms: the case of Salmonella spp.

        Salmonella is one of the pathogens that cause many foodborne outbreaks throughout the world, representing an important global public health problem. Salmonella strains with biofilm-forming abilities have been frequently isolated from different food processing plants, especially in poultry industry. Biofilm formation of Salmonella on various surfaces can increase their viability, contributing to their persistence in food processing environments and cross-contamination of food products. In recent years, increasing concerns arise about the antimicrobial resistant and disinfectant tolerant Salmonella, while adaptation of Salmonella in biofilms to disinfectants exacerbate this problem. Facing difficulties to inhibit or remove Salmonella biofilms in food industry, eco-friendly and effective strategies based on chemical, biotechnological and physical methods are in urgent need. This review discusses biofilm formation of Salmonella in food industries, with emphasis on the current available knowledge related to antimicrobial resistance, together with an overview of promising antibiofilm strategies for controlling Salmonella in food production environments.

        New Compound Drill Bit for Damage Reduction in Drilling CFRP

        This paper focuses on finding a suitable drill bit for drilling Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). The drilling characteristics of the dagger drill, the double point angle drill, and the candle stick drill are studied. The results show that the side edge has poor ability to remove burrs, and the tip structure of the outer corner of the candle stick drill can greatly reduce the entry damage. However, the outer corner small tip structure of the candle stick drill cannot effectively remove the uncut fiber around θ = 0° of hole exit. The long secondary cutting edge of the dagger drill makes a small thrust force at the drilling exit stage and reduces the dropping speed of the thrust force, leading a lower impact on the laminate bottom. Then, a new tool is developed for drilling CFRP based on the advantages of the three kinds of drill bits. The drill has a long secondary cutting edge, a small tip diameter and a small tip structure of the outer corner. And its drilling characteristics are analyzed. The result shows that the new compound drill bit can effectively remove fibers and reduce thrust force at the drilling exit stage, form burr-free and small delamination hole. The drill reduces the waste of CFRP in manufacturing process since the exit damage is reduced substantially, which is in line with the concept of green manufacturing.

        Effect and stability of miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion: A systematic review and meta-analysis

        Objective: This study aimed to systematically analyze the effect and stability of miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of patients with maxillary transverse deficiency (MTD). Methods: We searched PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, and Wanfang Database for relevant studies published before February 18, 2021 and selected them according to the eligibility criteria. The Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews (version 5.1.0) criteria were used for the quality assessment of randomized controlled trials, while the scoring protocol of the methodological index for non-randomized studies was used for non-randomized controlled trials. Statistical analysis was performed using the RevMan5.3 software. Results: All the included studies showed a relatively high success rate of expansion. The changes in both the intermolar and alveolar widths after MARPE were statistically significant. MARPE exhibited greater skeletal expansion effects than did conventional RPE. The midpalatal suture was opened in parallel after MARPE. A small amount of relapse was observed 1 year after expansion. MARPE caused tooth inclination and a decrease in alveolar height, but it was less significant than in conventional RPE. Conclusions: MARPE may be an effective treatment modality for patients with MTD. It causes great transverse skeletal expansion in late adolescence. In comparison to conventional RPE, MARPE has lower detrimental periodontal effects and has certain clinical advantages.

        High Efficiency Regeneration Performance of Exhausted Activated Carbon by Superheated Steam and Comparison with Conventional Chemical Regeneration Method

        Spent activated carbon is a common by-product of pollution treatment with granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorption and therefore spent activated carbon treatment for reuse is critical to maximize cost-effectiveness and sustainability. Superheated steam regeneration is a novel treatment technology that uses water vapor and is more energy- and cost-efficient than other thermal regeneration methods. This work has value in that two modes of operation are compared in a small-scale process, whose experiment is well designed to reflect its large-scale process. Our study evaluated the effects of superheated steam regeneration on phenol-saturated activated carbon using a rapid small-scale column test (RSSCT) and evaluated this approach with the conventional chemical regeneration method. Our findings indicated that superheated steam regeneration achieved optimal performance at 500oC for 60 min, whereas chemical regeneration performance was optimal using 4% NaOH coupled with a low flow rate. Based on these observations, cyclic adsorption/regeneration tests were conducted six times. Additionally, differences on the carbon surface after regeneration were explored via scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicated that superheated steam was more efficient and rendered cleaner carbon surfaces.

      • Research on the Pattern of "Dual Circulation" Development in Zhejiang Province Under Regional Integration Taking Digital Economy as an Example

        At present, the world economic situation is complex, and the epidemic has dealt a huge blow to global economic development. In this context, it is particularly important for China's economic construction to accelerate a pattern with the domestic circulation as the main body and the mutual promotion of domestic and double cycles between China and international cycles. From the perspective of the industrial chain, China is still in the middle and low end of the value chain, and the overall export competition and trade volume are low. Strengthening China's industrial chain with the help of regional economic integration is an important way to promote the "dual circulation", which can simultaneously stimulate the vitality of the two domestic and international markets, promote each other, and enhance the ability to resist risks. Among them, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) has become a crucial platform for regional cooperation for China to build a current "dual circulation" development pattern. The development of digital economy relies on the rapid changes of digital technology. With this in-depth development of digital technology and the growing development trend of the digital economy, we are still deeply troubled by the data leakage, data abuse, digital security, network security and other technical issues, which also creates our trust in the digital economy. Studying the digital trust problem is also an indispensable step towards in achieving a healthy, efficient and sustainable digital ecological environment. Although scholars have conducted extensive studies on supply chain services in cross-border transactions and the development trend of the digital economy, the related research results have failed to address the following issues. First of all, due to cultural differences and customs, consumers in different countries often show differences in consumption behaviors. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a comparative study on consumers in different countries to understand their behavioral preferences and differences. Secondly, most of the current literature on trust issues in cross-border transactions mainly focuses on consumer privacy and information security. It is necessary to sort out the framework of supply chain services and explore consumers' choice strategies when facing different types of services. Finally, scholars often focus on one or several types of influencing factors and ignore the interaction and influence of different types of factors. Therefore, this topic believes that in the current research, the trust relationship management model for the inclusive development of digital trade in the regional integration environment has not been constructed wholly and systematically, and many essential components have not been included in the research framework, which restricts the further development of the research in this field. So, this project will carry out analysis in five dimensions, from the technology and development of the digital economy, the reshaping of services and consumption, the acceptance of the customer, the labor market and ethical and moral safety, to deconstruct the connotation and the pattern of digital economy. This can not only describe the development picture and mechanism of digital economy in each dimension, but also try to clarify the relevance and influence among the dimensions. This project takes the trust of different stakeholders in the digital economy as the entry point. Also, it takes the users and enterprises under regional integration as the research objects to explore the specific factors affecting the trust behavior of the surrounding destiny community. The research process focuses on analyzing the trust management model in the overseas development of Zhejiang enterprises and exploring the changes that RCEP will bring to the overseas development. This project conducted an empirical study based on questionnaires, using a structural equation model through which the measurement and structural models were evaluated. The project verifies information reliability through empirical studies, examines the trust transfer function of trusted third parties in the digital environment through laboratory experiments, and analyzes the factors that moderate trust transfer by relying on partial least squares multigroup analysis. Ultimately, this topic realizes the evaluation of the effectiveness and overall effectiveness of the trust model. The study results verify that RCEP will strongly support Zhejiang enterprises' foreign development, and at the same time, identify some challenges faced by some Zhejiang enterprises in the process of foreign development. Also, the results will be beneficial to discover some new ideas to promote economic development further with RCEP.         Tool life evaluation of CFRP drilling with three kinds of drill

        Serious tool wear in CFRP drilling is one of the key problems to be solved urgently. Firstly, a suitable indirect evaluation index of tool life is selected according to the literature. The critical delamination force was obtained by blind hole pushing experiment. Then, tool wear experiments were carried out with double point angle drill, stepped drill and reverse edge compound drill to analyze the variation rules of the thrust force, exit burr, exit delamination and tear with tool wear. Threshold values of exit delamination, tearing and critical thrust force were compared with each evaluation index one by one to study the causes of drills failure. The results indicated that the maximum tool wear position was the outer corner. Among the three types drills, the thrust force, delamination factor and burr angle of the reverse edge compound drill are smaller. The double point angle drill fails due to the excessive thrust force, while the stepped drill and the reverse edge compound drill fail due to the hole exit delamination exceeding the threshold. The number of drilled holes of the reverse edge compound drill is 100 % and 25 % higher than that of the double point angle drill and the stepped drill, respectively. Therefore, the reverse edge compound drill is suitable for drilling CFRP.

        3D 버추얼 웨딩드레스의 실물대용 가능성 연구 -스몰웨딩용 웨딩드레스를 중심으로-

        The purpose of this study was to compare the appearance similarity between a 3D virtual wedding dress, and a model wearing real dress, and production efficiency, and the possibility of achieving similar results with 3D digital technology. Five wedding dresses for small weddings under the theme of ‘Dream Series’, were designed and produced in virtual and real dresses to quantitatively compare and analyze the appearance similarity and production efficiency. Experts compared the appearance similarity on the silhouettes, colors, materials, and details, and production efficiency was compared with time and cost. Based on our results, 3D virtual images of four out of the five dresses were similar to the real images. Our efficiency evaluation results showed that the manufacturing time was 45.4% shorter, and the manufacturing cost was 46.1% less than the existing method. This indicated that the wedding dress manufacturing process using 3D virtual software was time and cost saving competitive. Our results also confirmed that 3D virtual software technology has the potential to increase the efficiency of designing and production, and therefore an increase in competitiveness and sales of wedding dresses. Furthermore, 3D technology allows consumers to select and order wedding dresses online through 3D virtual software. This is a great advantage, and it highlights the significance of this research study.
