        Energy Consumption, Industrial Development and Environmental Pollution

        본 논문은 2001년부터 2011년까지의 중국의 산업별 데이터를 이용하여 여러 경제변수들이 중국 산업의 환경오염에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 여러 가지 계량분석 방법을 이용하여 실증분석 하였다. 그 결과 중국의 에너지 소비량이 증가함에 따라 오염이 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 쿠즈네츠의 U자형 가설을 환경문제에 적용한 가설에 대한 검정에서는 역-U자형(inverted U-shape)을 발견하였다. 즉, 중국의 경우 경제가 발전함에 따라서, 또한 일인당산업생산이 증가함에 따라, 초기에는 환경오염이 증가하다가 어느 수준이상에서는 환경오염이 감소한다는 결과를 얻었다. 또한, 환경오염 극대치를 줄일 수 있는 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다. This paper mainly investigates the relationship among energy consumption, industrial development and environmental pollution of China’s 36 industries from 2001 to 2011. We find that energy consumption has a positive influence upon environmental pollution emissions, especially in waste gases. Through generalized least squares, we found that both waste water and waste gases have an inverted-U shape with industrial development. We also found that solid waste has an inverted-U shape relationship with industrial development by using dummy variable least squares. Environmental pollution emissions have some heterogeneity in different industries and years. According to Granger causality analysis, waste gas and solid pollutants have unidirectional causality influence on energy consumption. Thus, it is imperative to improve energy efficiency and to explore and use more renewable energy. We conclude that China needs to develop green innovation in order to decrease environmental pollution.

      • Environmental innovation and its impact on economic and environmental performance: Evidence from Korean-owned firms in China

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This paper analyses the impact of environmental innovation on the economic and environmental performance of Korean-owned firms in China. We establish a theoretical model and propose eight hypotheses, which combine TPB (Theory of Planned Behavior) with theories of global environmental management and environmental innovation. We analyse the determinants of environmental innovation intention. We also analyse the effects of environmental innovation behavior on economic performance and environmental performance in different provinces and of different corporate ownership. We find that environmental innovation behavior has a greater effect on environmental performance than economic performance. Innovation in production processes, in particular, positively affects environmental performance for Korean-owned firms in Jiangsu. We also find that wholly Korean-owned firms (WKOEs) are more receptive to environmental innovation than Sino-Korean joint ventures. It is important to enhance environmental innovation within Korean-owned firms in China.         The effect of environmental innovation behavior on economic and environmental performance of 182 Chinese firms

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This paper investigated the role of environmental innovation behavior in the economic and environmental performance of 182 Chinese firms. We established an extended theory of planned behavior (TPB) model and proposed seven hypotheses by combining TPB and environmental innovation theory. Through structure equation model, we found that attitude toward environment behavior, subjective environmental norm, perceived environment behavioral control positively impact environmental innovation intention. Environmental innovation behavior had a 0.232 larger effect on environmental performance than on economic performance. Production processes have a 0.028 greater positive influence on environmental performance than on economic performance. Enhancing environmental innovation promotes sustainable development. It is important to strengthen cleaner production processes to reduce environmental pollution. It is a significant obligation to conduct environment-related education or training for personnel within firms.</P>

        Static and dynamic comparison analysis of conventional productivity and green productivity from 204 thermal power plants in Shandong Province of China

        This study compared the productivity and the green productivity from 204 thermal power plants in Shandong province, China from 2009 and to through static and dynamic perspectives. First, we evaluated the productivity and the green productivity using slacks-based measure (SBM) and directional SBM (DSBM) respectively. In addition, we compared the productivity and the green productivity from static and dynamic perspectives. Lastly, we analyzed the determinants of green productivity and productivity to explore the temporal and regional heterogeneity using Tobit and random-Tobit regressions. We found that coal consumption intensity negatively impacted green productivity and productivity. The northern and middle regions of Shandong had a negative effect on the productivity and the green productivity. From our results, we recommend a reduction in coal consumption intensity and further development of wind, biomass, solar power to promote clean production.

        본 연구는 정적 및 동적 회귀 분석을 통해 중국 산동성에 있는 204 개 화력 발전소의 생산성과 녹색 생산성을 비교 하였다. 먼저 2009년과 2011 년도의 생산성 및 녹색생산성에 대해서 (SBM) 및 SBM (DSBM) 에 따라 평가했다. 그리고 정적 및 동적회귀 분석을 통해 생산성 및 녹색 생산성을 비교 하였다. 마지막으로 Tobit과 랜덤 Tobit 회귀 분석을 이용해서 생산성과 녹색 생산성의 영향 요소를 분석하고 시간적 공간적 이질성을 탐구했다. 이것을 통해 석탄 소비의 강도가 생산성 및 녹색 생산성에 부정적인 영향을 미치고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 석탄 소비는 산동북부 및 중앙 지역의 생산성과 녹색 생산성에 대해서 부정적인 영향을 미치기 때문이다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여 청정 생산을 촉진하기 위하여는 석탄 소비 강도를 낮추고 풍력, 바이오매스 연료, 태양 에너지 등의 개발 필요성을 제안한다.         The complete mitochondrial genome of Hemigrapsus sinensis (Brachyura, Grapsoidea, Varunidae) and its phylogenetic position within Grapsoidea

        Background In this study, the complete mitogenome of Hemigrapsus sinensis was the first identified and analyzed. Objective The complete mitochondrial genome of Hemigrapsus sinensis (Brachyura, Grapsoidea, Varunidae) and its phylogenetic position within Grapsoidea. Methods The sample of Hemigrapsus sinensis was collected and DNA was extracted. After sequencing, NOVOPlasty was used for sequence assembly. Annotate sequences with MITOS WebServer, tRNAscan-SE2.0, and NCBI database. MEGA was used for sequence analysis and Phylosuite was used for phylogenetic tree construction. DnaSP was used to calculate Ka/Ks. Results This mitochondrial genome shows that it was 15,900 bp and encoded 13 PCGs, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, and one control region. The genome composition tends to A + T (74.34%) and presents a negative GC-skew (− 0.22) and AT-skew (− 0.03). The PCGs initiation codon was the typical ATN and termination codon was the typical TAN, incomplete T or missing. The ML and BI trees showed that H. sinensis was most closely related to Hemigrapsus and clustered together with the Varunidae. And our phylogenetic trees provide proof that Ocypodoidea and Grapsoidea may be of common origin. Meanwhile, in the phylogenetic tree, parallel mixing of Chiromantes and Orisarma raised doubts over the traditional classification system. Besides, Incomplete Lineage sorting (ILS) was observed in Varunidae. In the subsequent analysis of evolution rate, we found that all of the PCGs (NAD4 was not calculated) had undergone negative selections, indicating the conservation of mitochondrial genes of H. sinensis during the evolution. Conclusion Therefore, researching the complete mitogenome of H. sinensis would be contributing to molecular taxonomy, phylogenetic relationship, and breeding optimization within the Grapsoidea superfamily.

        Back-stepping Robust Control for Flexible Air-breathing Hypersonic Vehicle via a-filter-based Uncertainty and Disturbance Estimator

        In this paper, a robust control scheme using back-stepping and α-filter-based uncertainty and disturbance estimator (UDE) is designed for flexible air-breathing hypersonic vehicle (FAHV) in the presence of severe external disturbances. Firstly, with the aid of back-stepping technique, the longitudinal dynamics of FAHV is separated into velocity and altitude subsystems. Feedback linearization (FL) is utilized to design control laws for each subsystem. Secondly, to enhance robustness of the controller, α-filter-based UDEs are constructed to estimate the lumped disturbances, including aerodynamic parameter uncertainties, flexible effects and external disturbances. More importantly, the performance superiority of α-filter-based UDE is clarified via frequency response analysis and comparisons with an extended state observer (ESO). Furthermore, the issue of tuning design parameter α is analyzed. The stability of closed-loop system is proved by Lyapunov stability theory. Simulation results demonstratethe effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
