        Graphene and Graphene Oxide Modified by Deep Eutectic Solvents and Ionic Liquids Supported on Silica as Adsorbents for Solid-Phase Extraction

        A novel deep eutectic solvent (DES) and ionic liquid (IL)-modified graphene (G) and graphene oxide (GO) were synthesized and used as effective adsorbents for the preconcentration of three chlorophenols (CPs), 4-chlorophenol (4-CP), 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP), and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TCP), in environmental water samples prior to high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The new materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (S-4200) and Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry. The prepared functionalized GO@silica shows remarkable adsorption capacity toward CPs. When used as solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbents, a superior recovery (88.49–89.70%) could be obtained compared to commercial sorbents, such as silica and aminosilica. Based on this, a method for the analysis of CPs in water samples was established by coupling SPE with HPLC. These results highlight the potential new role of DES and IL-modified GO in the preparation of analytical samples.

        Preparation of Diacylglycerol from Lard by Enzymatic Glycerolysis and Its Compositional Characteristics

        The aim of this study was to prepare diacylglycerol (DAG) by enzymatic glycerolysis of lard. The effects of reaction parameters such as lipase type, reaction temperature, enzyme amount, substrate molar ratio (lard/glycerol), reaction time, and magnetic stirring speed were investigated. Lipozyme RMIM was found to be a more active biocatalyst than Novozym 435, and the optimal reaction conditions were 14:100 (W/W) of enzyme to lard substrate ratio, 1:1 of lard to glycerol molar ratio, and 500 rpm magnetic stirring speed. The reaction mixture was first incubated at 65°C for 2 h and then transferred to 45°C for 8 h. At the optimum reaction conditions, the conversion rate of triacylglycerol (TAG) and the content of DAG in the reaction mixture reached 76.26% and 61.76%, respectively, and the DAG content in purified glycerolized lard was 82.03% by molecular distillation. The distribution of fatty acids and Fourier transform infrared spectra in glycerolized lard samples were similar to those in lard samples. The results revealed that enzymatic glycerolysis and molecular distillation can be used to prepare more highly purified DAG from lard.

        Enhancement of Gastric Ulcer Healing and Angiogenesis by Hepatocyte Growth Factor Gene Mediated by Attenuated Salmonella in Rats

        The present study developed an oral hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) gene therapy strategy for gastric ulcers treatment. An attenuated Salmonella typhimurium that stably expressed high HGF (named as TPH) was constructed, and the antiulcerogenic effect of TPH was evaluated in a rat model of gastric ulcers that created by acetic acid subserosal injection. From day 5 after injection, TPH (1 × 109 cfu), vehicle (TP, 1 × 109 cfu), or sodium bicarbonate (model control) was administered orally every alternate day for three times. Then ulcer size was measured at day 21 after ulcer induction. The ulcer area in TPH-treated group was 10.56 ± 3.30 mm2, which was smaller when compared with those in the TP-treated and model control groups (43.47 ± 4.18 and 56.25 ± 6.38 mm2, respectively). A higher level of reepithelialization was found in TPH-treated group and the crawling length of gastric epithelial cells was significantly longer than in the other two groups (P < 0.05). The microvessel density in the ulcer granulation tissues of the TPH-treated rats was 39.9 vessels/mm2, which was greater than in the TP-treated and model control rats, with a significant statistical difference. These results suggest that TPH treatment significantly accelerates the healing of gastric ulcers via stimulating proliferation of gastric epithelial cells and enhancing

        Legal Remedies for Marine Ecological Damage in China: As Illustrated by the Tasman Sea Oil Spills Case

        This paper analyzes legal remedies for marine ecological damage as provided in Article 90, Section 2 of the Marine Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China. In doing so, the paper examines the Tasman Sea Oil Spills Case, the first civil case in China to claim marine ecological damage involving foreign interests. The paper finds that many issues arise in practice due to the simplicity of the relevant legal provisions. The existing international treaties on marine oil pollution damage caused by ships do not cover marine ecological damage. However, domestic courts of some countries have relevant judicial practice on the matter. Hence, it is urgent to establish a set of new rules on marine ecological damage compensation in China and to specify the claimants, the scope for compensation and the measure of indemnity with the aim of providing an effective legal remedy for marine ecological damage.

      • A Study on the Financial Management Model of Business Group in the Era of Big Data

        Background/Objectives: In the Internet age of information technology development, the development of big data promotes the deepening of economic globalization and the competing market, and the enterprise management changes. More and more business groups are starting to study effective financial management models. The purpose of this paper is to find effective financial management models suitable for business groups in the context of new trends in the economic environment. Methods/Statistical analysis: For this purpose, this paper takes the representative Huayao Company in China as a case to study. Findings: The results show that the financial centralized management model can adapt to the trend of the enterprise and reduce the risk of the enterprise. Improvements/Applications: This study provides a theoretical basis for the generalization of enterprise groups with centralized financial management.

      • Research on Safety Distance Mathematical Model of Pro-Active Head Restraint in Rear-end Collision Avoidance System

        Pro-active head restraint is a new automotive safety device with both active safety and passive safety characteristics. It can make a pre-estimation of the occurrence possibility of rear-end collision. Thus, the whiplash injury can be effectively reduced or even prevented. One of the key elements in rear-end collision avoidance system is to establish an effective safety distance mathematical model. Based on the running state of front car, the related calculation models of safety distance are established by means of dynamical and kinematical analysis of vehicle braking process and following process. Taken randomness and dynamic characteristics of parameters into consideration, the fuzzy relations between these parameters should be validated by means of fuzzy theory. Thus, it may accord with the actual driving conditions. By using the MATLAB software, the study shows that safety distance model and the methods used to determine parameters are reasonable, and the false alarm can be effectively minimized.

        Antibacterial Magnetic Nanoparticles Functionalized with N-Halamine/Quaternary Ammonium Polymer Coatings

        The bactericidal magnetic nanoparticles were prepared by modifying magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) with N-halamine polymer coating and quaternary ammonium polymer coating via a two-step soap-free emulsion polymerization method. The success of the surface functionalization was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and zeta-potential measurement. The results of antibacterial tests showed that the functional MNPs exhibited excellent antibacterial efficiency against both Gram negative bacteria E. coli and Gram positive bacteria S. aureus. Meanwhile the nanoparticles could be removed easily from water by an external magnetic field after antibacterial tests.

        Numerical Calculation of Stator End Leakage Reactance of Permanent Magnet Machines with Concentric Winding

        Concentric winding has been widely used in small capacity AC motors due to its excellent performance. In this paper, a numerical calculation method based on the magnetic vector potential is proposed to calculate the stator end leakage reactance of concentric winding. In this case, the basic unit of numerical calculation becomes the coil group rather than the coil since concentric windings have different coil sizes. The calculated stator end leakage reactance of a prototype three-phase permanent magnet machine with concentric winding is validated using the finite element method. Compared to 3D electromagnetic field calculation, the proposed method does not require a complex modeling process and is therefore highly efficient computationally, requiring only a fraction of the calculation time.

        Authentication of an Endangered Herb Changium smyrnioides from Different Producing Areas Based on rDNA ITS Sequences and Allele- Specific PCR

        The rDNA ITS region of 18 samples of Changium smyrnioides from 7 areas and of 2 samples of Chuanminshen violaceum were sequenced and analyzed. The amplified ITS region of the samples, including a partial sequence of ITS1 and complete sequences of 5.8S and ITS2, had a total length of 555 bp. After complete alignment, there were 49 variable sites, of which 45 were informative,when gaps were treated as missing data. Samples of C. smyrnioides from different locations could be identified exactly based on the variable sites. The maximum parsimony (MP) and neighbor joining (NJ) tree constructed from the ITS sequences based on Kumar’s two-parameter model showed that the genetic distances of the C. smyrnioides samples from different locations were not always related to their geographical distances. A specific primer set for Allele-specific PCR authentication of C. violaceum from Jurong of Jiangsu was designed based on the SNP in the ITS sequence alignment. C. violaceum from the major genuine producing area in Jurong of Jiangsu could be identified exactly and quickly by Allele-specific PCR.

      • Extraction of Quercetin from Ginkgo biloba by DESs-based Monolithic Cartridge with RP-HPLC

        Deep eutectic solvents (DES) were synthesized with choline chloride (ChCl), template molecular monolithic (TMM) and non-DES monolithic (N-DES-M) without template, were prepared in an identical procedure. Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) were used to characterize the obtained polymers. Rebinding experiment and solid-phase extraction (SPE) were used to prove the high selectivity adsorption properties of the polymers. The optimum extraction condition was found to be: ultrasonic time optimized (30 min), the volume fraction of ethanol and ratio of liquid to material (20 mL g-1). Under these conditions, the extraction yield of quercetin was 290.8 mg g-1. Purification of Ginkgo biloba extract was achieved by SPE process. The results showed DES-sbased monolithic cartridge had potential for promising functional adsorption material for the purification of bioactive compounds.
