SAR Image De-noising Based on Residual Image Fusion and Sparse Representation
( Xiaole Ma ),( Shaohai Hu ),( Dongsheng Yang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2019 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.13 No.7
Since the birth of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), it has been widely used in the military field and so on. However, the existence of speckle noise makes a good deal inconvenience for the subsequent image processing. The continuous development of sparse representation (SR) opens a new field for the speckle suppressing of SAR image. Although the SR de-noising may be effective, the over-smooth phenomenon still has bad influence on the integrity of the image information. In this paper, one novel SAR image de-noising method based on residual image fusion and sparse representation is proposed. Firstly we can get the similar block groups by the non-local similar block matching method (NLS-BM). Then SR de-noising based on the adaptive K-means singular value decomposition (K-SVD) is adopted to obtain the initial de-noised image and residual image. The residual image is processed by Shearlet transform (ST), and the corresponding de-noising methods are applied on it. Finally, in ST domain the low-frequency and high-frequency components of the initial de-noised and residual image are fused respectively by relevant fusion rules. The final de-noised image can be recovered by inverse ST. Experimental results show the proposed method can not only suppress the speckle effectively, but also save more details and other useful information of the original SAR image, which could provide more authentic and credible records for the follow-up image processing.

Fibers have been widely applied to improve the mechanical properties of natural soil and traditional cemented soils, but rarely investigated in substrates for slope eco-protection. Vegetation-growing concrete (VC) substrate is a kind of ecological cemented soil and has very wide popularization and application prospects. In this study, unconsolidated-undrained (UU) triaxial compression tests were conducted on the control specimens of VC substrate containing three cement contents and the palm fiber reinforced specimens manufactured by adding four fiber contents. The control specimens were shown to possess increasing yield strength, ultimate strength, yield strain and shear modulus with cement content, which resulted from the cemented texture improved by the hydrate products as recognized previously. Instead of inextensible reinforcement provided by cement, the palm fibers were found to provide extensible reinforcement, through which the obvious softening behavior of VC substrate could transfer to elasto-plasticity. Attributed to the unique ductility, the fibers added could bring with considerable increase in ductility of reinforced substrate, except for additional increases in yield strength, ultimate strength and yield strain.
An Efficient Secure DV-Hop Localization for Wireless Sensor Network
Xiaole Liu,Rui Yang,Qingmin Cui 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.9 No.7
Localization algorithm is an important and challenging topic in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), especially for the applications requiring the accurate position of the sensed information. Various algorithms have been proposed to obtain the location of sensor nodes. However, most of existing location algorithms assumes a non-adversarial environment. The position estimation accuracy decreases drastically when some of the sensor nodes are compromised. In this paper, we develop a secure localization scheme to resist the attack on the DV-Hop scheme, to mitigate the impact of such attacks. In our scheme, the flooding packets in the DV-Hop will be authenticated and the weight of beacon nodes will be used to abate the effect of nodes capture attack. Analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed can not only against nodes compromised attack effectively but also achieve comparable localization performance
Microstructural Characterization and Properties of Al/Cu/Steel Diffusion Bonded Joints
Cheng Xiaole,Gao Yimin,Fu Hanguang,Xing Jiandong,Bai Bingzhe 대한금속·재료학회 2010 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.16 No.4
We prepared Al/Cu/steel composite with a gradient structure using a vacuum hot-pressed diffusion method and investigated the Al/Cu/steel interface. The results show that a supersaturated solid solution with a thickness of about 2 um formed in the Cu/steel diffusion zone. Two kinds of intermetallic compounds, Cu9Al4 adjacent to the Cu side and CuAl2 adjacent to the Al side, formed at the interface of the Al/Cu. The thickness of the intermetallic compound layer appeared to greatly affect conductivity and tensile strength. The conductivity and the tensile strength decreased from 36.9 MS/m to 24.2 MS/m, and from 70.9MPa to 40.7MPa, respectively, while the thickness increased from 3.5 um to 23 um. The fractures occurred between a supersaturated solid solution (Al in Cu) and Cu9Al4, or between Cu9Al4 and CuAl2.

The increase of integration and power density make over current and over temperature protection circuits necessary. A low-dropout regulator (LDO) with protection circuits is designed based on traditional structures of LDO. Over current protection circuits convert the detecting current into the gate voltage which controls the switch MOSFET. Using the temperature characteristic of Bipolar Junction Transistor(BJT) conducting voltage, over temperature protection circuits can invert the comparator and protect the whole chip. The circuits is designed based on 0.18㎛ CMOS technology. The LDO input voltage is 1.8 V, and the output voltage is 1.3 V, the maximum output current is 10mA.
DNA-Grafted Poly(acrylic acid) for One-Step DNA Functionalization of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles
Hu, Xiaole,Kim, Chan-Jin,Albert, Shine K.,Park, So-Jung American Chemical Society 2018 Langmuir Vol.34 No.47

Here, we report one-step DNA functionalization of hydrophobic iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) using DNA-grafted poly(acrylic acid) (PAA-g-DNA). PAA-g-DNA was synthesized by coupling PAA to amine-modified oligonucleotides via solid-phase amide chemistry, which yielded PAA grafted with multiple DNA strands with high graft efficiencies. Synthesized PAA-g-DNA was utilized as a phase-transfer and DNA functionalization agent for hydrophobic IONPs, taking advantage of unreacted carboxylic acid groups. The resulting DNA-modified IONPs were well dispersed in aqueous solutions and possessed DNA binding properties characteristic of polyvalent DNA nanostructures, showing that this approach provides a simple one-step method for DNA functionalization of hydrophobic IONPs.
[FIG OMISSION]

Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), belonging to Avibirnavirus genus in the Birnaviridae family, consists of two segments of double-strand RNA. There are two distinct serotypes of IBDV, the pathogenic serotype I and the non-pathogenic serotype II. Comparison of the deduced amino acid sequences of a panel of VP5 genes retrieved from GenBank revealed a high identity among strains within the serotype I or serotype II group but a low identity between strains across two serotypes. In this study, we rescued two mosaic viruses, rGtGxVP5 and rGt2382VP5 by exchanging the VP5 gene of a cell culture-adapted serotype I Gt strain with its counterpart of the very virulent IBDV Gx strain, or a non-pathogenic 23/82 strain of the serotype II. In comparison to the parental strain rGt virus, the rGtGxVP5 showed the similar viral replication, cytotoxicity and the ability of inducing apoptosis; however, the other mosaic virus rGt2382VP5 had a lower titer and a reduced cytotoxicity. Although exchange of VP5 within serotype I group did not alter the viral replication and cytotoxicity of Gt strain, exchange of VP5 in the serotype I with that of a serotype II reduced the viral replication and cytotoxicity on chicken embryo fibroblast (CEF) cells. Therefore, the VP5 of serotype II may be one of the factors responsible for the distinct pathogenic features of two serotypes.
A reconsideration of the failure of an S-shaped response of TFP to technological diffusion news
( Deokwoo Nam ),( Xiaole Li ) 한양대학교 경제연구소 2022 JOURNAL OF ECONOMIC RESEARCH Vol.27 No.3
We re-examine the empirical results on news shocks to total factor productivity (TFP) by identifying technological diffusion news that produces an S-shaped response of TFP. By revisiting Sims (2016), we show that Barsky and Sims’ (2011) result that TFP rises immediately following a favorable news shock, which is interpreted as a failure to identify diffusion news, is sensitive; even within Barsky and Sims’ identification framework, the identified news shock is found to produce an S-shaped response of TFP, as seen in Beaudry and Portier (2006). Furthermore, we show that VAR information content and measurement errors can play an important role in identifying technological diffusion news. We document that stock prices convey more valuable information about diffusion news than consumer confidence and that when the identification of news shocks is less affected by measurement error shocks to TFP, the identified news shock is likely to capture diffusion news.
