Sensitivity analysis and chemical reaction mechanism simplification of blast furnace gas in gas turbine combustor environment

Zhao Yang,Xiangsheng Li,Zhenping Feng,Lian Lu 대한기계학회 2017 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.31 No.4

To solve the lack of reduced Blast furnace gas (BFG) mechanism under elevated pressure environment in numerical simulation, the present paper analyzes the sensitivity of every elementary reaction to combustion rate by using one dimensional laminar premixed reactor model. The steps with sensitivities larger than 0.1 are selected and the chemical kinetic parameters are revised by the method of weighted least squares fitting. The reduced 18-step mechanism which is specified to 0.1-3 Mpa is validated for laminar flame speeds, ignition delay times with available experiment data and GRI3.0 mechanism. Moreover, both the reduced and DRM-22 mechanisms are introduced into an experimental burner and an industrial gas turbine combustor simulation. The results of temperature and main species distribution illustrate that the 18-step mechanism is able to give a reasonable prediction combustion simulation. The 18-step mechanism lays the foundation of further studying the combustion of the low calorific value fuels at high pressure conditions.

The role of precessing vortex core in two combustion regimes: Numerical simulation studies

Zhenlin Wang,Xiangsheng Li,Zhenping Feng,Zhao Yang 대한기계학회 2019 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.33 No.1

Large Eddy simulation (LES) with finite rate chemistry was used to investigate the combustion dynamics in a lab-scale PRECCINSTA combustion chamber. Transient three dimensional numerical simulations were carried out at two different thermal powers (10 kW and 35 kW) with a fixed equivalence ratio of 0.7. The predicted results were compared with the experimental data and good agreements were found between them. In the cold flow field under both conditions, a precessing vortex core (PVC) in the inner shear layer (ISL) existing between the swirling jet and the inner recirculation zone (IRZ). However, two different flow and combustion dynamics were observed when combustion occurred. At thermal power of 10 kW, there was a V-shaped flame and the combustion of the flame was stable. The PVC disappeared and the vortices arrangement was symmetrical in the ISL. However, at 35 kW, there was a M-shaped flame with a PVC in the ISL and combustion instability triggered. In depth analysis of the characteristics of flow, temperature and heat release field, we found that the flame surface was wrinkled periodically by the PVC which enhanced the mixing between the cold fresh gas and hot burned products. Then, the mixture was ignited locally and heat release was rapid in the middle of the combustion chamber. These effects were directly related to the periodic vortices motion which was induced by PVC. It was confirmed that the influence of PVC on flame surface and heat release is an important factor for triggering the combustion instability at thermal power of 35 kW. The zone division based on different roles of flow/flame and thermoacoustic coupling was also discussed to illustrate the combustion instabilities caused by PVC.

A Receiver-Driven Loss Recovery Mechanism for Video Dissemination over Information-Centric VANET

( Longzhe Han ),( Xuecai Bao ),( Wenfeng Wang ),( Xiangsheng Feng ),( Zuhan Liu ),( Wenqun Tan ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2017 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.11 No.7

Information-Centric Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (IC-VANET) is a promising network architecture for the future intelligent transport system. Video streaming applications over IC-VANET not only enrich infotainment services, but also provide the drivers and pedestrians real-time visual information to make proper decisions. However, due to the characteristics of wireless link and frequent change of the network topology, the packet loss seriously affects the quality of video streaming applications. In this paper, we propose a REceiver-Driven loss reCOvery Mechanism (REDCOM) to enhance video dissemination over IC-VANET. A Markov chain based estimation model is introduced to capture the real-time network condition. Based on the estimation result, the proposed REDCOM recovers the lost packets by requesting additional forward error correction packets. The REDCOM follows the receiver-driven model of IC-VANET and does not require the infrastructure support to efficiently overcome packet losses. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed REDCOM improves video quality under various network conditions.

Early gut microbiota in very low and extremely low birth weight preterm infants with feeding intolerance: a prospective case-control study

        Liu Ling,Ao Dang,Cai Xiangsheng,Huang Peiyi,Cai Nali,Lin Shaozhu,Wu Benqing 한국미생물학회 2022 The journal of microbiology Vol.60 No.10

The potential role of the gut microbiota in the pathogenesis of feeding intolerance (FI) remains unclear. Understanding the role of the gut microbiota could provide a new avenue for microbiota-targeted therapeutics. This study aimed to explore the associations between aberrant gut microbiota and FI in very low or extremely low birth weight (VLBW/ELBW) preterm infants. In this observational case-control study, VLBW/ ELBW infants were divided into two groups: FI group and feeding tolerance (FT) group. 16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed to analyze the gut microbial diversity and composition of the infants. The differences in the gut microbiota of the two groups were compared. In total, 165 stool samples were obtained from 44 infants, among which, 31 developed FI and 13 served as controls. Alpha diversity was the highest in the meconium samples of the two groups. LEfSe analysis revealed that the abundances of Peptostreptococcaceae, Clostridiales and Clostridia in the FT group were significantly higher than in the FI group. At the phylum level, the FI group was dominated by Proteobacteria, and the FT group was dominated by Firmicutes. The meconium samples of the FI group had higher proportions of γ-proteobacteria and Escherichia-Shigella and a lower proportion of Bacteroides compared with the FT group. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis demonstrated that aberrant gut bacteria in the FI group were strongly associated with dysregulation of C5-Brancheddibasic- acid-metabolism, protein kinases, and sporulation. These findings reveal candidate microbial markers to prevent FI. Increased relative abundances of γ-proteobacteria and Escherichia-Shigella and decreased abundance of Bacteroides in meconium were associated with an increased risk of FI, while Peptostreptococcaceae, Clostridiales and Clostridia reduced the risk of FI in VLBW/ELBW infants.

Adsorption mechanism of lead ions at ilmenite/water interface and its influence on ilmenite flotability

        Pan Chen,Jihua Zhai,Wei Sun,Yue-hua Hu,Zhigang Yin,Xiangsheng Lai 한국공업화학회 2017 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.53 No.-

In order to get further understanding of lead ions adsorption onto ilmenite surface, zeta potential analysis, adsorption density calculation, FT-IR and XPS analysis were employed. The results showed that the adsorption of lead ions onto ilmenite surface was a chemically dominating process. Lead species could interact with iron-hydroxyl complex compounds to form a Fe–O–Pb complex. The hydrophobic complex of Pb(OL)2 was also observed. Iron and adsorbed lead ions on ilmenite surface served as the main active-sites via chemisorption with oleate species. Introducing lead ions, as a surface modification means, can efficiently improve ilmenite flotability.

        Tao Wei,Guangli Guo,Huaizhan Li,Lei Wang,Xiangsheng Yang,Yuezong Wang 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.26 No.5

Accurately detecting the location of the goafs is an effective method for coordinating underground mining and surface engineering construction and realizing illegal mining supervision. Aiming at the problems of the existing solution methods of goaf spatial characteristic parameters, a spatial location identification method of coal underground goaf with fusing minimal unit probability integration method and optimized quantum annealing is proposed. Meanwhile, to study the characteristics and stability of the proposed model, the advantages and disadvantages of space movement vector data, the robust ability of the method, and the application of multi-source data are discussed in the Discussions. Finally, the achievements of this paper apply to 1414 (1) working face of Gubei Coal Mine in Huainan. The results show the model can accurately identify the location and boundary of the goaf. The research achievements have important theoretical and practical significance for solving problems of land resource reuse in mining areas lacking geological mining data, coal mine safety production, and the supervision of illegal mining.

Efficacy and Safety of Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy in Achalasia Patients with Failed Previous Intervention: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

( Shali Tan ),( Chunyu Zhong ),( Yutang Ren ),( Xujuan Luo ),( Jin Xu ),( Xiangsheng Fu ),( Yan Peng ),( Xiaowei Tang ) 대한소화기학회 2021 Gut and Liver Vol.15 No.2

Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) has emerged as a rescue treatment for recurrent or persistent achalasia after failed initial management. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of POEM in achalasia patients with failed previous intervention. We searched the MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane, and PubMed databases using the queries “achalasia,” “peroral endoscopic myotomy,” and related terms in March 2019. Data on technical and clinical success, adverse events, Eckardt score and lower esophageal sphincter (LES) pressure were collected. The pooled event rates, mean differences (MDs) and risk ratios (RR) were calculated. A total of 15 studies with 2,276 achalasia patients were included. Overall, the pooled technical success, clinical success and adverse events rate of rescue POEM were 98.0% (95% confidence interval [CI], 96.6% to 98.8%), 90.8% (95% CI, 88.8% to 92.4%) and 10.3% (95% CI, 6.6% to 15.8%), respectively. Seven studies compared the clinical outcomes of POEM between previous failed treatment and the treatment naïve patients. The RR for technical success, clinical success, and adverse events were 1.00 (95% CI, 0.98 to 1.01), 0.98 (95% CI, 0.92 to 1.04), and 1.17 (95% CI, 0.78 to 1.76), respectively. Overall, there was significant reduction in the pre- and post-Eckardt score (MD, 5.77; p<0.001) and LES pressure (MD, 18.3 mm Hg; p<0.001) for achalasia patients with failed previous intervention after POEM. POEM appears to be a safe, effective and feasible treatment for individuals who have undergone previous failed intervention. It has similar outcomes in previously treated and treatment-naïve achalasia patients. (Gut Liver 2021;15:153-167)

Research and implementation of new-type supercapacitor and battery hybrid energy storage system

Liu, Jian,Wang, Yang,Wu, Yangjie,Li, Yang,Wang, Xiangsheng The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2020 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.20 No.6

When a dump truck brakes, it is difficult to effectively absorb the braking energy due to the transient mutation of braking energy. At the same time, braking energy production is too high to store easily. Focusing on these problems, this paper proposes a new type of two-stage series supercapacitor and battery (SP&B) hybrid energy storage system (ESS). Using the characteristics of supercapacitors, which can charge and discharge quickly with large currents, the system combines the supercapacitors with a battery with a high energy storage capacity. This allows sudden large currents to be absorbed and released rapidly, while large amounts of energy can be stored. This system can also reduce the charge and discharge times of the SP&B to meet the working requirements of dump truck braking while improving the service life of the system. After completion of the research and implementation of the proposed SP&B hybrid ESS, a laboratory dynamic model was set up as an experimental platform and vehicle operation experiments were performed. The obtained results show that the energy recovery efficiency of the hybrid ESS can reach 53.5%, which can realize both security and stability for dump truck braking energy recovery and utilization (BER&U) systems.
