Effect of Discharge Elbow on Performance of the Axial Flow Pump in Saddle Zone

Xianfang Wu,Heyu Ye,Minggao Tan,Houlin Liu 한국유체기계학회 2020 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.13 No.4

The discharge elbow is an important part for the axial flow pump system, and the saddle area on the performance curve is a special characteristic of the axial flow pump. In order to reveal the influence of discharge elbow on the saddle zone, the saddle zone performance of an axial flow pump with two different discharge elbows (90° and 60°) is described in this paper by simulation and test. First, the effect of discharge elbows on pump energy performance is analyzed. The results indicate that the saddle zone of model pump with different discharge elbows is always between 0.5QBEP and 0.6QBEP (QBEP represents flow rate at the best efficient point), and the head value reaches the minimum at 0.55QBEP. Then, the analysis on pressure pulsation of different models is shown. The results show that compared to 90° discharge elbow model, the peak to peak value of pressure pulsation of 60° discharge elbow model at impeller inlet and pump outlet all reduces significantly under each flow rate. When the discharge elbow is 90°, the main frequency of the pressure pulsation at impeller inlet and pump outlet is the blade passing frequency fp, and many low-frequency pulsation components appear in saddle zone. When the discharge elbow is 60°, the main frequency of pressure pulsation at pump outlet changes from the blade passing frequency fp to the axial passing frequency fn. Finally, a focus by the numerical simulation about the internal characteristics is given. It is found that a small amount of vortex occurs in these two discharge elbows at saddle zone condition while the high speed area appears in pump outlet extend. After the 90° discharge elbow is replaced by 60° discharge elbow, the streamline distribution becomes more uniform and the hydraulic loss caused by the vortex decreases.

A Survey on Modeling Mechanism and Control Strategy of Rehabilitation Robots: Recent Trends, Current Challenges, and Future Developments

        Yanzheng Zhu,Xianfang Tong,Rongni Yang,Yurong Li,Min Du,Chun-Yi Su 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.8

Due to an increasingly serious aging society and a large number of disabled civilians, the number of residents who need rehabilitation therapy is increasing rapidly in the past few years, but the rehabilitation therapists/treatments are in short supply in reality. In recent years, with the in-depth research and technology development of rehabilitation robots, this contradiction is expected to be overcome. In this paper, the modeling mechanisms of rehabilitation robots are firstly introduced based on the pneumatic artificial muscle drive, motor drive, and cable drive, respectively. Then some typical methodologies are presented to deal with various types of control constraints, namely the nonlinearity, the parameter uncertainty, the fatigue, and the time-delay, etc. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of some existing control approaches and driving modes are discussed in depth, including some notable experimental results. The key challenges and shortcomings of rehabilitation robots are analyzed and summarized, and the future development of rehabilitation robots has been prospected finally.

Silencing the PIK3CA Gene Enhances the Sensitivity of Childhood Leukemia Cells to Chemotherapy Drugs by Suppressing the Phosphorylation of Akt

        Mingde Ding,Xiuling Liang,Xianfang Xin,Dongmei Qi,Chengyan Fu 연세대학교의과대학 2019 Yonsei medical journal Vol.60 No.2

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of PIK3CA on the sensitivity of acute B lymphocytic leukemia cells (Nalm-6cells) to chemotherapy drugs. Materials and Methods: Children’s normal B lymphocytes and Nalm-6 cells were cultured. Nalm-6 cells were transfected withPIK3CA siRNA (siPIK3CA group) or its negative control (PIK3CA-Control group). Normal Nalm-6 cells were named Mock group. Nalm-6 cells transfected by PIK3CA siRNA were treated with Akt inhibitor (siPIK3CA+Akti-1/2 group). mRNA and protein expressionwas detected by qRT-PCR and Western blot. Proliferation and sensitivity to chemotherapeutic drugs was detected by MTTassay. Cell cycle and apoptosis was explored by low cytometry. Transwell assay was performed to test invasion. Results: PIK3CA mRNA (p=0.008) and protein (p=0.006) expression was higher in Nalm-6 cells than that in normal B lymphocytes. Compared with the Mock group and PIK3CA-Control group, Nalm-6 cells of the siPIK3CA group had lower OD495 values (allp<0.05) and invasion cell numbers (p=0.03 and p=0.025), as well as a higher proportion of G0/G1 phase cells (p=0.020 and p=0.022), percentage of apoptosis (p=0.016 and p=0.022), and inhibition rate (all p<0.05). pAkt expression in the siPIK3CA group (p=0.026 and p=0.031) and siPIK3CA+Akti-1/2 group (p=0.019 and p=0.023) was lower than that in the Mock group. Conclusion: PIK3CA silencing inhibited Nalm-6 cell proliferation and invasion, and promoted their apoptosis and sensitivity tochemotherapeutic drugs, potentially through regulation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

      • RESEARCH ON THE RELATIONSHIP AMONG E-WOM, CONSUMER ETHNOCENTRISM, BRAND EQUITY AND PURCHASE INTENTION

        Yang Sun,Shenghui Wang,Xianfang Xue 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2016 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2016 No.7

China has been the biggest factory in the world, most of products are marked “made in China”. With the rapid grows of consumption in China, it is also the biggest market. However, Chinese consumers with deep-rooted Confucian value system may different from Western countries (Ramasamy & Yeung, 2009). Do they still have strong consumer ethnocentrism? Or they can accept all the things they made but with the foreign brands? The power of WOM to influence customer attitude toward one brand is well known to all the marketing researchers. But the fast development of internet and social media network changed consumers’ behavior, word-of-mouth has acquired electronic WOM (e-WOM) as a new name (Goyette et al, 2010). Customer use E-WOM to evaluate product and make purchase decision. Ethnocentric consumers are against foreign brands as they believe that purchasing these brands will hurt domestic economy and brands, cause loss of jobs and increase the power of capitalist companies and dependency of poorer economies to them (Kaynak & Eksi, 2013). But customers are will to searching the better products. Such as Chinese mainland consumers hire purchase agent to shopping aboard. The purchase agent post information in the social media network as eWOM. This research wants to explore the young Chinese still have high ethnocentric tendency or not influenced by eWOM. If E-WOM can be a marketing method to reduce the ethnocentrism when foreign brands entry a new country. And also the domestic brands can use E-WOM to enhance ethnocentrism to against foreign brands. In this research, study 1 tests positive E-WOM or negative E-WOM to test if it can enhance Chinese consumers’ ethnocentrism or reduce their ethnocentrism for their own country products. This research also tests if consumer ethnocentrism can influence on brand equity and purchase intention. Based on the literature review, researchers establish concept model was shown in Table 1. This study uses SPSS and AMOS to analysis the sample. Based on the results this research gives suggestions to both academic and practice.

Visualizing test on the pass-through and collision characteristics of coarse particles in a double blade pump

Tan, Minggao,Lian, Yichao,Liu, Houlin,Wu, Xianfang,Ding, Rong The Society of Naval Architects of Korea 2018 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.10 No.1

As the key equipment in deep ocean mining, the slurry pump suffers from wear and blocking problems. In this paper, high-speed photography technique is applied to track the movement rule of single particle of the coarse particle solid-liquid two-phase flow in a double blade slurry pump. The influences of particle diameter and particle density on the pass-through and collision characteristics of particles are analyzed as well. The results show that the average of the passing pump time first decreases and then increases when the particle diameter increases. The average of the passing pump time decreases by 22.7%, when the particle density increases from $1.09g/cm^3$ to $1.75g/cm^3$. Besides, the particle density has great influence on the location where the particle hits the tongue. Most particles of $1.09g/cm^3$ hit the tongue on the left side, while collision location of particles of $1.75g/cm^3$ is mainly on the top and at the right side of the tongue. The research can provide a basis for the optimization design of slurry pump in deep ocean mining system.
