        Synthesis and Anticonvulsant Activity of 1-Formamide-triazolo[4,3- a]quinoline Derivatives

        Using 6-hydroxy-3,4-dihydro-2(1H)-quinolone as the starting material, a series of 1-formamide-triazolo[4, 3-a]quinoline derivatives (6a-6n) was synthesized, the anticonvulsant effect and neurotoxicity of the compounds was calculated with maximal electroshock test and rotarod tests with intraperitoneally injected in KunMing mice. The results demonstrated that compound 7-(hexyloxy)-4,5-dihydro-[1,2,4] triazolo[4,3-a]quinoline-1-carboxamide (6d) was the most active one and also had the lowest toxicity. In the anti-maximal electroshock potency test, it showed median effective dose (ED50) of 30.1 mg/kg, median toxicity dose (TD50) of 286 mg/kg, and the protective index of 9.5 which is greater than the reference drug carbamazepine with the protective index value of 6.0.

        Experimental study on Chinese ancient timber-frame building by shaking table test

        A one-story, wooden-frame, intermediate-bay model with Dou-Gon designed according to the Building Standards of the Song Dynasty (A.D.960-1279), was tested on a unidirectional shaking table. The main objectives of this experimental study were to investigate the seismic performance of Chinese historic wooden structure under various base input intensities. El Centro wave (N-S), Taft wave and Lanzhou wave were selected as input excitations. 27 seismic geophones were instrumented to measure the real-time displacement, velocity and acceleration respectively. Dynamic characteristics, failure mode and hysteretic energy dissipation performance of the model are analyzed. Test results indicate that the nature period and damping ratio of the model increase with the increasing magnitude of earthquake excitation. The nature period of the model is within 0.5~0.6 s, the damping ratio is 3~4%. The maximum acceleration dynamic magnification factor is less than 1 and decreases as the input seismic power increases. The frictional slippage of Dou-Gon layers (corbel brackets) between beams and plates dissipates a certain amount of seismic energy, and so does the slippage between posts and plinths. The mortise-tenon joint of the timber frame dissipates most of the seismic energy. Therefore, it plays a significant part in shock absorption and isolation.

        Synthesis of 2-Substituted-6-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)benzo[d]oxazoles as Potential Anticonvulsant Agents

        A series of 2-substituted-6-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)benzo[d]oxazoles were synthesized. The anticonvulsant effect and neurotoxicity of the compounds (intraperitoneally) were evaluated with the maximal electroshock (MES) test, subcutaneous pentylenetetrazole (sc-PTZ), and rotarod tests in mice. 2-Phenyl- 6- (4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)benzo[d]oxazole (3g) was the most active and also had the lowest toxicity. In the anti-MES potency test, it showed median effective dose (ED50) of 29.5 mg/kg, a median toxicity dose (TD50) of 285 mg/kg, and a protective index (PI) of 9.7, which is greater than the reference drug, carbamazepine, which has a PI of 6.4.

      • Toward the AI-enabled digital financial services innovation: The role of positive emotional interactions with users

        Purpose: Advancements in the AI-enabled technology have made the mobile and online the dominant place for launching financial services innovation. The existing literatures have revealed that online environment is easy to arouse users’ emotions and promote emotional behavior, but still lack evidence how emotions affect the use of digital financial services. This study then develops a research model and two experiments to investigate whether and how the afforance of positive emotions through AI-enabled digital financial services innovation will enhance user’s services adoption. Design/methodology/approach: This paper used a mixed-methods approach to empirically study the role of emotions on users’ adoption of digital financial services then providing the evidence to the value of positive emotions arousal through AI-enabled interaction. An convenience nonprobability sampling approach with total of 280 responses were collected to examine the model and two behavioral experiment with total of 121 and 140 participants respectively, as well as the partial least squares technique and paired sample mean t-test were utilized for data analysis. Findings: Positive emotions promote users’ intentions to continue to use digital financial services and also exert a significant positive role through the intermediary effect of trust and satisfaction(Study 1). The users’ perceptions of the value rises in the state of positive emotional arousal and perception of the risk of financial loss decreases (Study 2). The anthropomorphic artificial intelligence service assistant can effectively evoke user’s positive emotions in service recommendations, improve their willingness of adoption and value perception and reduce perceived risk(Study 3). Originality/value: Based on emotion theory and expectation confirmation theory (ECT), this study reveals that as features, positive emotions interaction help improve users’ value perception and adoption intention, also help us further understand the role of user’s emotions arousal in digital financial service This research has practical importance in terms of understanding the affordance of positive emotional interaction through AI-enabaled service is a valuable way to carry out service innovation in digital financial platform.

        Differential effects on the MICE sustainability and customer loyalty perceived by domestic and international attendees

        The objective of this study is to explore differential effects of the sustainability perceived by domestic and international participants in the MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Convention, and Exhibition) held in the Republic of Korea and to examine the relationship between customer loyalty and perception of the sustainable MICE. In this study, 30 sustainability variables for the MICE were extracted and tested by the factor analysis, representing four underlying dimensions: economic sustainability, social sustainability, environmental sustainability and event sustainability. The results revealed that significant differences in these four dimensions of the sustainable MICE were perceived by domestic and international participants. The largest difference were perceived by domestic and international participants with respect to the environmental sustainability factor. The mean scores indicated that international participants tended to give higher evaluations than domestic participants. Second, there were statistically significant relationships among economic, environmental, and event sustainability factors and customer loyalty from the perspective of international participants. For domestic participants, only event sustainability had a vital relationship with customer loyalty. The study implied how policy makers and the MICE managers should adopt four dimensions of sustainability to establish a harmonious and sustainable MICE practices.

        NOX4/Src regulates ANP secretion through activating ERK1/2 and Akt/GATA4 signaling in beating rat hypoxic atria

        Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidases (NOXs) are the major enzymatic source of reactive oxygen species (ROS). NOX2 and NOX4 are expressed in the heart but its role in hypoxia-induced atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) secretion is unclear. This study investigated the effect of NOX on ANP secretion induced by hypoxia in isolated beating rat atria. The results showed that hypoxia significantly upregulated NOX4 but not NOX2 expression, which was completely abolished by endothelin-1 (ET-1) type A and B receptor antagonists BQ123 (0.3 μM) and BQ788 (0.3 μM). ET-1-upregulated NOX4 expression was also blocked by antagonists of secreted phospholipase A2 (sPLA2; varespladib, 5.0 μM) and cytosolic PLA2 (cPLA2; CAY10650, 120.0 nM), and ET-1-induced cPLA2 expression was inhibited by varespladib under normoxia. Moreover, hypoxia-increased ANP secretion was evidently attenuated by the NOX4 antagonist GLX351322 (35.0 μM) and inhibitor of ROS N-Acetyl-D-cysteine (NAC, 15.0 mM), and hypoxia-increased production of ROS was blocked by GLX351322. In addition, hypoxia markedly upregulated Src expression, which was blocked by ET receptors, NOX4, and ROS antagonists. ET-1-increased Src expression was also inhibited by NAC under normoxia. Furthermore, hypoxia-activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) and protein kinase B (Akt) were completely abolished by Src inhibitor 1 (1.0 μM), and hypoxia-increased GATA4 was inhibited by the ERK1/2 and Akt antagonists PD98059 (10.0 μM) and LY294002 (10.0 μM), respectively. However, hypoxia-induced ANP secretion was substantially inhibited by Src inhibitor. These results indicate that NOX4/Src modulated by ET-1 regulates ANP secretion by activating ERK1/2 and Akt/GATA4 signaling in isolated beating rat hypoxic atria.

        컨벤션행사의 지속가능성이 브랜드자산 및 고객 충성도에 미치는 영향 연구

        본 연구는 컨벤션행사의 지속가능성, 브랜드자산, 고객 충성도 간의 관계를 탐색하고자 하며 브랜드자산 요인이 지속가능성과 충성도 사이 미치는 매개역할을 검증하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면, 지속가능성은 경제적, 사회적, 환경적, 행사적 4가지 요인들로 도출되었고 브랜드자산은 수행력, 사회적 이미지, 가치, 신뢰애착 5 가지 요인들로 분석되었다. 가설검증 결과는 (1)지속가능성요인들이 브랜드자산에 부분적으로 유의하고; (2)지속가능성요인들이 고객 충성도에 유의하며; (3)사회적 이미지와 애착이 고객 충성도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다; (4)브랜드자산은 지속가능성과 충성도 사이에서 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구결과는 컨벤션행사의 지속가능성에 대한 새로운 구조의 형성에 기여하면서 컨벤션 기획자들이 향후 한국 컨벤션 브랜드자산을 제고할 수 있는 단서를 제공하는 데 기여할 것으로 유추된다. The purpose of this study is to examine effects of sustainability of convention events on brand equity and customer loyalty. This paper also explores the mediating role of brand equity amid sustainability of convention events and customer loyalty. The four determinants ofsustainability of convention events examined in this study are economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, social sustainability and event sustainability. Brand equity refers to performance, social image, value, trust worthiness, and attachment. The findings are as follows: (1)most sustainability of convention events have a positive effect on each brand equity’s elements; (2)all sustainability of convention events have a positive effect on loyalty; (3)brand equity of convention is significantly related to customer loyalty. (4)brand equity plays a mediating role between sustainability of convention and customer loyalty. The findings will not only be useful in improving the structure of sustainability of convention events, but also in enhancing competitiveness in Korea’s convention industry.

        중국인 관광객들의 지속적인 국내 관광을 유도하기 위한 마케팅 전략 분석

        The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among tourism motivations, tourism satisfaction, revisit intention, and word-of-mouth by Chinese tourists who visited South Korea. The five tourism motivation factors used in this study were novelty, escape, knowledge-seeking, socialization, and attractions. The results of multiple regression analysis indicate that only attractions and knowledge-seeking had a significant positive effect on tourism satisfaction. Moreover, attractions not only had the strongest predictor of tourism satisfaction but also the only factor that had a significant positive effect on revisit intention. Tourism satisfaction, revisit intention, and word-of-mouth were positively related at the observed significant level. The findings of this study may be useful in enticing Chinese tourists to visit South Korea and increasing their tourism satisfaction, revisit intention and word-of-mouth.

        Fe3+-binding transferrin nanovesicles encapsulating sorafenib induce ferroptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma

        Background Ferroptosis, iron-dependent cell death, is an established mechanism for cancer suppression, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Sorafenib (SOR), a frontline drug for the treatment of HCC, induces ferroptosis by inhibiting the Solute Carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11), with inadequate ferroptosis notably contributing to SOR resistance in tumor cells. Methods To further verify the biological targets associated with ferroptosis in HCC, an analysis of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was performed to find a significant co-upregulation of SLC7A11 and transferrin receptor (TFRC), Herein, cell membrane-derived transferrin nanovesicles (TF NVs) coupled with Fe3+ and encapsulated SOR (SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs) were established to synergistically promote ferroptosis, which promoted the iron transport metabolism by TFRC/TF-Fe3+ and enhanced SOR efficacy by inhibiting the SLC7A11. Results In vivo and in vitro experiments revealed that SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs predominantly accumulate in the liver, and specifically targeted HCC cells overexpressing TFRC. Various tests demonstrated SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs accelerated Fe3+ absorption and transformation in HCC cells. Importantly, SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs were more effective in promoting the accumulation of lipid peroxides (LPO), inhibiting tumor proliferation, and prolonging survival rates in HCC mouse model than SOR and TF- Fe3+ NVs alone. Conclusions The present work provides a promising therapeutic strategy for the targeted treatment of HCC.
