        This paper presents two scheduling algorithm by heuristic procedure for minimizing setup costs in the parallel processing shop subjects to a workload restriction. The facility is a man-machine system which perform tasks relative to some project which require the services of both in combination or in part. The man-machine system is a kind of systems engineering. First algorithm is concerned with the problem of minimizing maximum workload. Second algorithm involves total workload or workload balance. Each numerical example is presented.

        Photonic band gaps(PBG) are investigated for cubic diamond composed of dielectric spheres and air spheres. It was found that PBGs exist in both cases. PBGs lie between the 2nd-3rd, 8th-9th and 14th-15th band for dielectric spheres and the 2th-3th band for air spheres.

        The effect of the housing potential, V? on the current density distribution at the plane containing the exit slit was investigated. We have found that the ranges of the current density distribution of the Z-axis decrease with increasing │V?│and each distribution curve for various V? has a maximum value. Futhermore, in the condition of V?? -0.4?, these curves have the largest maximum values. Also, the contribution of geomagnetic fkeld on the distribution was discussed.

        Photonic band gaps(PBGs) are investigated for face-centered cubic structure composed of dielectric spheres and air spheres. It was found that PBGs exist for both cases. PBGs lie between the 6th-7th and 13th-14th for dielectric spheres and the 8th-9th for air spheres.

        Tamna, the old name of Cheju Province of Korea, was in old times a sea-girt tribal state south of the southern tip of the Korean peninsula. Although there is no clue as to the exact date of its foundation, Tamna is presumed to have been in contact with the mainland even in the greatly remote past, and about the fifth century the government of Tamna had some formal connections with those of Shilla and Paekjae, and some inhabitants of the island made long voyages for commercial or other purposes as far as Koryo, Japan, and China. Owing to its geographical situation and historical background, ancient Tamna was backward in every aspect of its civilization. On the other hand, however, this peculiar environment has served to preserve most of the antiquities of Tamna which are now attracting an increasing attention of the students concerned. This article tries to show some aspects of the ancient culture of Tamna by studying the origins of its art and science, its language, and its religion. The art and science of Tamna was destined from the beginning to be far from the main stream of those on the mainland because of its geographical location, that is, on isolated island state. However, during the period when the Korean peninsula was divided into three kingdoms, Shilla, Paekjae, and Koguryo, Tamna began to introduce the advanced culture of the mainland through formal and informal intercourse with the mainland. About the tenth century when the whole peninsula was put under the rule of the Koryo dynasty, Tamna was influenced by a scholarly atmosphere in the capital of Koryo with the Koryo's increasing influence upon the island, and produced some men of learning who placed himself at the service of the royal court. This tendency toward learning in creased during the period from the tenth to the fourteenth century. Although there broke out on the island during the period an armed rebel, called the Rebellion of Sambyolcho, against the central government, it also made a favorable opportunity for the island to be in closer contact with learned circles in the capital of the Koryo kingdom. During the fifteenth century Tamna began to enjoy more scholarly atmosphere than before. This is because the Yi dynasty following Koryo established "hyanggyo's" or Confucian schools with a view to promoting the love of learning. As a result Tamna produced a number of learned men. But almost all of them followed the course of scholars in the capital, scarcely paying attention to literature and art peculiar to the island. As for language as spoken in Tamna, it seems to have come down from the language of ancient Koryo. Tamna the name of the island state, and Yang Eulla, the name of one of the three ancient tribes of the island, show that, according to the results of the authors' investigation, the language of Tamna is closely related with that of primitive Koryo. This close relationship is to be seen especially between the names of tribes of Tamna and those or the five tribes of ancient Koryo. The primitive religion of Tamna was shamanism in which shamans and conjurers played decisive roles. Later Buddhism was introduced into the island and during the Koryo dynasty Koryo and Yuan, an ancient kingdom of China which once occupied Tamna, both adopted a pro-Buddhist policy and propagated Buddhism on the island. As a result, Buddhism throve all over the island. However, most priests did not apply themselves to the Buddhist doctrine, but was chiefly engaged in prayer for earthly happiness of inhabitants of the island. Consequently it can be said that religion of those days was a fusion of Buddhism and shamanism.

        A computer program for determining the angles of incidence in a low energy electron diffraction (LEED) experiment is written which uses the angles between the diffraction spots on a photograph of LEED pattern measured by Stephen L. Cunningham and W. Henry Weinberg. The results determined by using our program are in good agreement with those of Stephen L. Cunningham and W. Henry Weinberg within the extent of 0.1" in the polar angle and 0.01" in the azimuthal angle.

      • Ge(Li)Spectrometer에 의한 검출효율 및 Co-60의 방사능 측정

        Using the method of a photo-peak-area analysis, the detection efficiencies and the radioactivity of a Co-60 isotope have been measured by means of a Ge(Li) spectrometer connected with a computer based multichannel analyzer. The results indicate that the Ge(Li) detector has a very high energy resolution, 2.13keV FWHM at the energy 1332.50keV and measured efficiencies are in good agreement with the calculated ones in energy region above 500keV. The activity determined in the present work is 3.369(±0.01)μCi. This agrees well with the value 3.371(±0.02)μCi of a standard source. It is shown that the radioactivity can be measured within 2% error for the Co-60 isotope by the Ge(Li) spectrometer.

      • 정전형 에너지분석기에서의 Background factor에 의한 에너지 스펙트럼

        We have already made the concentic cylindrical ESA. and investigated its characteristics. From those experimental results, we detected unexpected background peaks together with the peak corresponding to the extracting voltage, ??, on our energy spectrum of charged particle beams. Therefore, to find out the source of occurrence of those background peaks, we measured the voltage between extractor and slit of ESA conferring that the origin of occurrence of those peaks would be unexpected electric field between extractor and slit. As the results of our experiment, we discovered the existence of time-varying voltage similar to square wave form in this region when the extractor floated from ground and found out these background peaks are caused by floated extractor.

      • In 전도전자의 g-Factor Anisotropy

        Anisotropy of the conduction electron g-factors of β-orbit in In were measured by the spin-splitting zero and harmonic ratio method with the de Haas-Van Alphen effect. g-factors were derived from the measurement of the effective mass and Dingle temperature. The first spin-splitting zero was happened at 79°from 〔110〕toward 〔001〕, where the effective mass was 0.595Me. The measured g-factors showed a large anisotropy from 1.68 to 3.21 over the β-orbit.
