Recent advances in deep learning have enabled robots to grasp objects even in complex environments. However, a large amount of data is required to train the deep-learning network, which leads to a high cost in acquiring the learning data owing to the use of an actual robot or simulator. This paper presents a new form of grasp data that can be generated automatically to minimize the data-collection cost. The depth image is converted into simplified grasp data called an irregular depth tile that can be used to estimate the optimal grasp pose. Additionally, we propose a new grasping algorithm that employs different methods according to the amount of free space in the bounding box of the target object. This algorithm exhibited a significantly higher success rate than the existing grasping methods in grasping experiments in complex environments.
Development Strategy of Schiphol Airport and Lessons for Incheon as a Logistics Hub
Jaap de wit Jungseok Research Institute of International Logis 2004 JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS AND TRADE Vol.2 No.2
Lessons are drawn from the experience of the logistics hub at Amsterdam's schiphol Airport for Korea's Incheon International Airport. After providing an overview of the air cargo market the key factors underpinning the success of air cargo hubs are outlined. Examples are provided of Schiphol's multi-level strategy that aims at being simultaneously an air transport hub, a multimodal hub, and a logistics hub as a part of the airport city strategy. Consideration needs to be given to how the successful development of an air transport hub depends on the capacity problems at other competing air traffic nodes in the region. with this background, interest is centered upon the prospects of the Incheon International Airport becoming a cargo hub for Japan.
Vol.23 No.4
This is the study, which applied flexibility and resistance exercise programs in more than 70 years older women for 16 weeks, to analyze growth factor hormone (GH and IGF-1), functional fitness in elderly women (Senior Fitness), and health-related quality of life (Life Quality(SF-36)), of the self-assessment by comparing with the control group. Total 28 elderly women from B metropolitan city in Korea joined this study. They were randomly divided into three groups; 9 flexibility exercise group (FEG), 10 resistance exercise group (REG) and 9 control group (CG). FEG was performed 60min/day, 3day/week, with intensity 25- 34%HRR and 11-13 RPE for 16 weeks. And REG was performed with intensity 13-15 RPE using dumbbells and weight bearing. Data analysis was used by SPSS Ver.21.0. Repeated measure two-way ANOVA, and oneway ANOVA were conducted. The following results were obtained. First, there was no significant difference between the groups in growth hormone (GH) before and after the exercise. Also, there was no significant difference between groups and measurement time in Insulin-like growth hormone (IGF-1), but suggested that there was a significant increase in the level of p<.05 after exercise prescription compared to before exercise in resistance forces. Second, flexibility and resistance exercise groups significantly were improved after exercise prescription than control group in muscular strength of lower and upper limbs, flexibility of lower limb, aerobic endurance among factors of the senior fitness. However, there was no difference between groups in the flexibility of the arms and agility. Third, physical abilities and vitality factors in the flexibility group positively showed improvements in health-related quality of life(SF-36) after the exercise prescription. The following results have raised the need for additional studies since flexibility exercises can be more effective for psychological changes in health-related quality of life of older women.
The United States, North Korea and South Korea
( Joel S Wit ) 한국국방연구원 2002 The Korean Journal of Defense Analysis Vol.14 No.2
The recent announcement that the US will resume talks with North Korea represents another chapter in the roller-coaster ride of the first two years of the Bush administration. After a bumpy initial summit with President Kim Dae-jung, the completion of the US policy review last June brought a sigh of relief, in part because the summit had drastically lowered expectations that the new administration would even continue a policy of engaging Pyongyang. The outcome was certainly not as bad as some experts expected but pointed to a difficult road ahead. While the administration professed to be willing to meet anywhere, anytime, the president`s Axis of Evil speech in January once again heightened fears about America`s intentions. So did the administration`s refusal to certify that the North Koreans were complying with the 1994 US-DPRK Agreed Framework. But now with the agreement to resume talks, US-North Korean relations may be entering a new phase. Whether these talks show a bottoming out of the relationship or a "dead cat bounce" remains unclear. The resumption of these talks at the same time as the two Koreas seem posed to resume contacts makes for a complicated situation. While the recent visit of President Bush to Seoul did much to ease the troubled bilateral relationship, the potential for problems remains, both during the remainder of President Kim Dae-jung`s term in office and beyond, as the two allies once again try to reengage Pyongyang. That potential will be acute if North Korea seeks rapid progress in its relationship with Seoul, but the chances of that seem minimal.
