        Influence of Grain Boundary Character on Dopants Segregation in Nanocrystalline Aluminum

        This work focuses on understanding the influence of grain boundary (GB) character on magnesium (Mg) dopants segregationin nanocrystalline (NC) aluminum (Al) using a hybrid Monte Carlo/molecular dynamics (MC/MD) framework. Studies aredone to identify the dopant segregation behavior in symmetric (Σ3) and asymmetric Σ5, Σ7, Σ9, Σ11, Σ13 and Σ61 tilt GBs. The simulations reveal that GB segregation is apparently not random, instead, dopants prefer to segregate to specific sitesin the GBs. It is found that tilt GBs exhibit periodic “V”-like cluster of atoms. The segregating Mg dopant atoms replaceonly those atoms at the foot of the “V”-clusters. The number of dopant atoms absorbed by a GB is directly correlated to thenumber of such sites in a GB. Dopant segregation to high angle GBs (HAGBs) is more preferential than to low angle GBs(LAGBs) and tilt boundaries (TBs), as more the “V”-atomic clusters are available in HAGBs. Dopants bring Σ5, Σ7, Σ9, Σ11,Σ13 and Σ61 GBs to lower energetic states, which increases the resistance of the NC material to deformation. The inabilityof Σ3 GB to accommodate dopants results in an excess of dopants in the bulk, which distorts the crystalline structure, thusreducing the resistance to deformation.

        수요사슬 운영방안에 대한 제조업 적용 가능성 분석 : 신유통 관점

        본 연구는 중국의 유통산업을 중심으로 도입된 신유통 관점이 제조업에도 적용 가능한지를 분석하기 위하여 선행연구를 기반으로 연구모형과 가설을 제시하였고, 가설검증은 구조방정식 모형을 적용하였다. 자료수집은 중국 제조기업을 대상으로 2021년 1월 10일 ~ 2월 17일까지 구매(PMs)와 공급사슬 업무 경험이 있는 직원을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 온라인으로 500부를 배포하여 총 273(54.6%)부가 회수되었고, 무응답 등의 설문지를 제외한 248(49.6%)부를 본 연구에서 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 신유통 기반의 수요사슬 운영의 선행요인인 고객수요 분석능력, 생산대응능력, 공급업체와의 협업능력은 신유통 기반의 수요사슬 운영에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 신유통 기반의 수요사슬 운영은 경영성과인 효율적인 배송, 수요계획, 유연성에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과는, 신유통 개념을 제조업에도 적용할 수 있고, 수요자 중심(예, 수요사슬)의 운영방식은 불확실한 비즈니스 환경에서 경쟁우위 요인이 될 수 있다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구 결과는 제조업체가 고객의 다양한 요구와 시장의 역동성을 고려하면서 민첩한 서비스 및 공급 전략을 개발하는 데 활용될 수 있다. This study develops a new retail perspective for demand chain operational solutions of the manufacturing industry and proposes a research model with associated hypotheses based on prior research and a validated structural equation model. The results revealed that customer demand analysis, production response, and cooperation capabilities with suppliers and antecedents of retail-based demand chain operations have positive impacts on demand chain operations. The proposed retail-based demand chain operation has a positive impact on the effective distribution, demand planning, and flexibility of operations management. This study demonstrates that the new retail concept can also be applied to the manufacturing industry. The results provide important information that can help manufacturing companies develop agile service and supply strategies while considering the diverse demands of customers and the dynamism of the market.

        A One-Step System for Convenient and Flexible Assembly of Transcription Activator-Like Effector Nucleases (TALENs)

        Transcription activator-like effector nucleases (TALENs) are powerful tools for targeted genome editing in diverse cell types and organisms. However, the highly identical TALE repeat sequences make it challenging to assemble TALEs using conventional cloning approaches, and multiple repeats in one plasmid are easily catalyzed for homologous recombination in bacteria. Although the methods for TALE assembly are constantly improving, these methods are not convenient because of laborious assembly steps or large module libraries, limiting their broad utility. To overcome the barrier of multiple assembly steps, we report a one-step system for the convenient and flexible assembly of a 180 TALE module library. This study is the first demonstration to ligate 9 mono-/dimer modules and one circular TALEN backbone vector in a one step process, generating 9.5 to 18.5 repeat sequences with an overall assembly rate higher than 50%. This system makes TALEN assembly much simpler than the conventional cloning of two DNA fragments because this strategy combines digestion and ligation into one step using circular vectors and different modules to avoid gel extraction. Therefore, this system provides a convenient tool for the application of TALEN-mediated genome editing in scientific studies and clinical trials.

        The Theoretical Calculations of Kinetic and Thermodynamics Parameters and Anharmonic Correction for the Related Reactions of NO<sub>3</sub>

        According to the transition state (TS) theory, Gaussian software and Yao and Lin (YL) method, the thermodynamics and kinetic data respectively were calculated, and anharmonic effect was considered for related reactions of NO<sub>3</sub>. The methods of calculating and fitting kinetic and thermodynamics parameters were provided by least square method and related equations in this paper. Notably, the fitted E of Arrhenius equation was close to the calculated barrier of related reaction by QCISD(T) method. Therefore, the kinetic fitting result can well express the physical meaning of E in Arrhenius equation. Besides, the conversion process and the reaction mechanism of NO<sub>3</sub> were researched. For NO<sub>3</sub>, it seemed that its instability results from its easy reaction with other substances rather than the decompose reaction of itself.
