Build-in Wiretap Channel I with Feedback and LDPC Codes
Wen, Hong,Gong, Guang,Ho, Pin-Han The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2009 Journal of communications and networks Vol.11 No.6
A wiretap channel I is one of the channel models that was proved to achieve unconditional security. However, it has been an open problem in realizing such a channel model in a practical network environment. The paper is committed to solve the open problem by introducing a novel approach for building wiretap channel I in which the eavesdropper sees a binary symmetric channel (BSC) with error probability p while themain channel is error free. By taking advantage of the feedback and low density parity check (LDPC) codes, our scheme adds randomness to the feedback signals from the destination for keeping an eavesdropper ignorant; on the other hand, redundancy is added and encoded by the LDPC codes such that a legitimate receiver can correctly receive and decode the signals. With the proposed approach, unconditionallysecure communication can be achieved through interactive communications, in which the legitimate partner can realize the secret information transmission without a pre-shared secret key even if the eavesdropper has better channel from the beginning.

Background and purpose Self-rated health (SRH) is a consistent and strong predictor of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in various populations. However, the associations between SRH measures and risk of first-ever or recurrent stroke were rarely explored. We thus aim to prospectively investigate the associations between SRH measures and risk of total and subtypes of stroke in Chinese population. Methods A total of 494,113 participants from the China Kadoorie Biobank without prior heart diseases or cancer (486,541 without stroke and 7,572 with stroke) were followed from baseline (2004 to 2008) until December 31, 2013. General and age-comparative SRH were obtained from baseline questionnaires. First-ever stroke or recurrent events were ascertained through linkage to disease registry system and health insurance data. Results We identified 27,662 first-ever stroke and 2,909 recurrent events during an average of 7.0 years of follow-up. Compared with excellent general SRH, the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for first-ever stroke associated with good, fair, and poor general SRH were 1.04 (1.00 to 1.08), 1.19 (1.15 to 1.23), and 1.49 (1.42 to 1.56) in the multivariate model, respectively. Compared with better age-comparative SRH, the HRs (95% CIs) of same and worse age-comparative SRH were 1.13 (1.10 to 1.17) and 1.51 (1.45 to 1.58), respectively. The relations of SRH measures with ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and recurrent stroke were similar to that with total first-ever stroke. However, the magnitude of associations was much stronger for fatal stroke than for non-fatal stroke. Conclusions This large-scale prospective cohort suggests that self-perceived health status is associated with incident stroke, regardless of stroke subtype.

The aphid complex (Brevicoryne brassicae, Lipaphis erysimi and Myzus persicae) in cruciferous crops are extremely similar in appearance but they however showed differences in their levels of susceptibilities to various insecticides. The lacking of genomic and transcriptomic information on B. brassicae and L. erysimi limits our understanding of resistance status among aphid species at the molecular level. Based on the mining of the public transcriptome data, we identified a number of genes encoding three detoxifying enzymes, carboxylesterases (containing acetylcholinesterases), cytochrome P450s, and glutathione S-transferases. Several insecticide targets were also identified, such as acetylcholinesterase, nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, γ-aminobutyric acid gated ion channel, glutamate receptor, the voltage-gated sodium channel, ryanodine receptor, transient receptor potential vanilloid channel, and inward-rectifier potassium channel. Our study provides genetic information for understanding the diversity of insecticide resistance occurring among cruciferous aphids, which could meaningfully contribute towards complementing future related studies.

Drawn on the resource-based view, this study examines the relationships of ties with serviceintermediaries to service innovation and product innovation and the mediations ofinnovation search on these relationships among Chinese manufacturing firms. It finds thatties with service intermediaries have positive relationships with both service innovation andproduct innovation, and technology search and market search mediate these relationships. Moreover, technology search has a stronger impact on product innovation than on serviceinnovation, but the effects of ties with service intermediaries and market search on serviceinnovation are not different from those on product innovation. The findings enrich ourknowledge on the antecedents of service innovation and provide some insight into thedebate on whether the antecedents of product innovation can be generalised to serviceinnovation. Moreover, they draw a more comprehensive picture on how a firm’s externalties affect innovations.
The pharmacological role of Ginsenoside Rg3 in liver diseases: A review on molecular mechanisms
Wenhong Wang,Ke Li,Weihua Xiao The Korean Society of Ginseng 2024 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.48 No.2
Liver diseases are a significant global health burden and are among the most common diseases. Ginssennoside Rg3 (Rg3), which is one of the most abundant ginsenosides, has been found to have significant preventive and therapeutic effects against various types of diseases with minimal side effects. Numerous studies have demonstrated the significant preventive and therapeutic effects of Rg3 on various liver diseases such as viral hepatitis, acute liver injury, nonalcoholic liver diseases (NAFLD), liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The underlying molecular mechanism behind these effects is attributed to apoptosis, autophagy, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory activities, and the regulation of multiple signaling pathways. This review provides a comprehensive description of the potential molecular mechanisms of Rg3 in the development of liver diseases. The article focuses on the regulation of apoptosis, oxidative stress, autophagy, inflammation, and other related factors. Additionally, the review discusses combination therapy and liver targeting strategy, which can accelerate the translation of Rg3 from bench to bedside. Overall, this article serves as a valuable reference for researchers and clinicians alike.
Study on College English Teaching Mode Multimedia Assisted Based on Computer Platform
Huang Wenhong 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.11 No.7
College english teaching mode multimedia assisted based on computer platform is studied in this paper, and the inevitable trend is discussed which to cultivate students’ English language proficiency by computer networks and multimedia tools in the college English teaching reform. It has unparalleled advantages than traditional teaching mode. Then foreign language teaching mode based on B/S architecture and computer networks is paid more attention to introduce, which provides a new way of thinking of college English teaching reform and is also a good reference of the similar institutions in computer-aided teaching.
