<P>A new high temperature superconductor axial-flux coreless maglev motor (HTS AFIM) is proposed, of which the primary windings are made of HTS tapes and the secondary is a non-magnetic conductor. The main works of this paper are the magnetic-field computation and characteristics analysis of HTS AFIM. For the first one, the reduction of magnetic fields near outer and inner radius of the HTS AFIM is solved by introducing the sub-loop electro-magnetic model along the radial position. For the second one, the AC losses of HTS coils are calculated. The relationships between the device's characteristics and device parameters are presented, and the results indicate that under certain frequency and current levitation device can output enough lift force. The conclusions are verified by finite element calculations.</P>

While emergency operating procedures (EOPs) occupy an important role in the management of various abnormal situations in nuclear power plants (NPPs), current technology for the validation of EOPs still largely depends on manual review. A validation method for EOPs of NPPs is thus proposed based on dynamic multi-level flow modeling (MFM). The MFM modeling procedure and the EOP validation procedure are developed and provided in the paper. Application of the proposed method to EOPs of an actual NPP shows that the proposed method provides an efficient means of validating EOPs. It is also found that the information on state transitions in MFM models during the management of abnormal situations is also useful for further analysis on EOPs including their optimization.
Lp-Norm-Based All-Pass System Design with Improved Convergence and Robustness
Wei Qin,Noboru Ito 제어로봇시스템학회 2013 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2013 No.10
When the least-pth algorithm is used for designing all-pass digital systems in the minimax error sense, an appropriate large p must be used. However, a large p may lead to divergent solution, i.e., the least-pth algorithm may diverge. This paper describes how to select a large p for the minimax design and thus guarantee the convergence of the iterative least-pth design procedures. A design example is given to show the convergence improvement as well as the effectiveness of the proposed search scheme for selecting a large p.
Data Sharing for Learning Analytics – Exploring Risks and Benefits through Questioning
Tore Hoel,Weiqin Chen,Jon Mason 이러닝학회 2016 이러닝학회 논문지 Vol.1 No.1
Moving learning analytics from the research labs to the classrooms, lecture halls, and digital learning spaces requires data sharing. Routine production and consumption of data is no limited to controlled settings as data can be sourced from an increasing diversity of data points and combined or aggregated from these sources within and often beyond the institution. This scaling up of learning analytics raises a host of questions on behalf of the data subjects and therefore informs requirements for design of new solutions and practices. This paper analyses a corpus of more than 250 questions gathered by a European project that organized international workshops and facilitated community exchange. It explores how these questions could inform both the problem space of data sharing and the solution space yet to be fully scoped by research and development within this emerging field. The analysis shows that the discourse on data sharing and big data for education is still at an early stage. Conceptual issues dominate this discourse; however, the elicited questions also hold numerous challenges for technical development and implementation. In concluding we propose a short inventory of what the emerging solution space may entail and suggest a path for further work.
An SDN Based CBT for Distributed Shared Memory
Qiang Gao,Weiqin Tong,Samina Kausar,Shengan Zheng 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.1
It is a challenging task to provide an easy–to-use programming interface for distributed shared memory in parallel computing that demands high availability as well as effective synchronization. The current implementations typically use conventional Ethernet as communication medium using broadcast or multicast for synchronization mechanisms. In general, multicast is more efficient than broadcast, as it uses multicast tree to transfer data instead of multicast flooding. Multicast avoids redundant transmissions and lessens network contention. These properties make it significant for distributed shared memory. However, such solution has limited control on response time and process scheduling. This causes uncertainty of time spent in synchronization and interruption of unrelated processes in the same multicast group. In this research, we propose a dynamic SDN multicast mechanism to improve efficiency of synchronization for distributed shared memory by using an SDN-based multicast mechanism and a dynamic core based tree algorithm. The forwarding rule reduces the number of consistency-related messages without interfering the unrelated processes in the same multicast group. The dynamic core-based tree algorithm builds a multicast tree for every multicast group, hereby, SDN controller dynamically adjusts multicast tree according to joining or leaving of nodes. The experiments on the prototype system demonstrate that it could provide better performance compared to the conventional Ethernet based solution in terms of response time and process scheduling in the homogeneous testing environment.

In this paper, a constitutive framework based on a crystalline plasticity model is employed to simulate the plastic deformation of AZ31 magnesium alloy, which posses the hexagonal close packed (HCP) crystal structure. Dislocation slip and mechanical twinning are taken into account in the model. The successive integration method is used to determine the active slip systems, and the contribution of twinning to the grain reorientation is treated by the PTR method. The FE model is introduced into ABAQUS/Explicit through a user material subroutine (VUMAT). Three deformation processes of AZ31 magnesium alloy, including tension, compression and a stamping process, are simulated with the present method. The simulation results are compared with experiment and those presented in the literature.
Study on Spheroidizing Technology of Spherical Cast Tungsten Carbide
Li Yuxi,Zhou Yonggui,Li Weiqin,Pan Deng,Zhang Lanting 한국분말야금학회 2006 한국분말야금학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2006 No.1
This paper introduces a special spheroidizing technology at ultra-high temperature. The conventional cast tungsten carbide (YZ) is melted at high temperature, rapidly cooled and spheroidized on a new ultra-high temperature spheroidizing equipment to prepare various grades WSC powders.
