Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive management strategy that has been widely applied for benign and recurrent malignant thyroid lesions as an alternative to surgery in Taiwan. Members of academic societies for specialists in interventional radiology, endocrinology, and endocrine surgery collaborated to develop the first consensus regarding thyroid RFA in Taiwan. The modified Delphi method was used to reach a consensus. Based on a comprehensive review of recent and valuable literature and expert opinions, the recommendations included indications, pre-procedural evaluations, procedural techniques, post-procedural monitoring, efficacy, and safety, providing a comprehensive review of the application of RFA. The consensus effectively consolidates advice regarding thyroid RFA in clinical practice for local experts.

The effect of a carbon additive on the microstructure and the magnetic properties of melt-spunSmCo7−xMxCy (M=Ti, Zr, Hf, V and Ge; x = 0 - 0.3 and y = 0 - 0.1) ribbons was studied. Based on the XRD and the TEM analyses, a pure 1:7 phase could be formed for the C-containingribbons with M= Ti and Ge. However, carbide phases, i.e., Sm2C3 for M=Zr and Hf, and SmCoC2for M=V, respectively, were found. Nevertheless, a slight C addition may effectively refine themicrostructure and improve both the intrinsic coercvity and the magnetic energy product in all thestudied ribbons. Among them, the SmCo6.9V0.1C0.1 ribbons with r = 58.7 emu/g, iHc = 13.5kOe and (BH)max = 9.3 MGOe, and the SmCo6.9Hf0.1C0.1 ribbons with r = 61.6 emu/g, iHc =11.8 kOe and (BH)max = 10.3 MGOe are most suitable for the bonded magnet applications.

In the history of Confucianism, there have evolved at least three distinctive ways of defining the relationship between “zhi and xing;” they were the discourses of difficulty (difficult and easy), of priority (prior and posterior) and of unity. It was no later than Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi of the Song dynasty that the discourse of “difficulty” was inseparably connected with the discourse of “priority,” and Wang Yangming, arguing strongly against the idea that zhi took priority over xing, claimed the unity of “zhi and xing”. Wang, nonetheless, was still influenced by the discourse of priority, even when he was endeavoring to justify the unity between “zhi and xing.” The evidence comes from two observations which also indicate two approaches to Wang’s discourse on the unity of conscience and action. First, Wang oriented, primarily, his thinking to what the concept of zhi meant and followed Mencius in interpreting zhi as conscience (liangzhi) and xing (action) as the activity of conscience itself. Secondly, xing also implicates that the conscience acts in the life-world. As a result, Wang’s two different interpretations of xing have shaped two discourses of “zhi and xing.” For a better understanding of Wang’s discourse, I also explicate in the end the discussions of Kant and Gadamer of the relationship between theory and practice.

was studied by using numerical simulations. The electrical characteristics of the triodes with V2O5 doping concentrations of 1016 − 1018 cm −3 and electrode work functions (WFs) of 4.4 − 5.1 eV were simulated. In addition, the corresponding physical mechanisms were investigated by quantitatively analyzing the energy band diagram, carrier distribution, injection and transports which were difficult to measure and obtain experimentally. The optimal triode performance was obtained for a doping concentration of V2O5 of 2 × 1017 cm −3 and WFs of the emitter and the collector electrodes of 5.1 eV and 4.8 eV, respectively. The simulation results were reasonable when compared with experimental data reported by other groups.
Rock wool wastes as a supplementary cementitious material replacement in cement-based composites
Wei-Ting Lin,An Cheng,Ran Huang,Yuan-Chieh Wu,Ta-Yuan Han 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2013 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.11 No.2
The use of rock wool waste, an industrial by-product, in cement-based composites has positive effects on the environment because it reduces the problems associated rock wool disposal. The experiments in this study tested cement-based composites using various rock wool waste contents (10, 20, 30 and 40% by weight of cement) as a partial replacement for Portland cement in mortars. The pozzolanic strength activity test, flow test, compressive strength test, dry shrinkage test, absorption test, initial surface absorption test and scanning electron microscope observations were conducted to evaluate the properties of cement-based composites. Test results demonstrate that the pozzolanic strength activity index for rock wool waste specimens is 103% after 91 days. The inclusion of rock wool waste in cement-based composites decreases its dry shrinkage and initial surface absorption, and increases its compressive strength. These improved properties are the result of the dense structure achieved by the filling effect and pozzolanic reactions of the rock wool waste. The addition of 30% and 10% rock wool wastes to cement is the optimal amount based on the results of compressive strength and initial surface absorption for a w/cm of 0.35 and 0.55, respectively. Therefore, it is feasible to utilize rock wool waste as a partial replacement of cement in cement-based composites.

To meet future demands for cutting-edge wearable electronics, flexible supercapacitors must possess many features, such as eco-friendly processing, aesthetic appeal and no health hazards, in addition to have lightweight, robust and excellent cycling stability. We proposed a biomimetic and scalable method to fabricate an all-solid-state flexible supercapacitor (assFSC) using bioinspired clay/polymer nanocomposites as electrode materials and a gel electrolyte. Experimental results from X-ray techniques (tomography, scattering and diffraction) showed that the electrode’s structure features a 3D ant-nest-like framework composed of 2D nacre-like clay nanosheets, i.e. hierarchical layers-within-networks structure. Accordingly, the structural electrodes exhibit high tensile strength of 62 MPa, Young’s modulus of 4.4 GPa, and torsional strength of 165 MPa. Under a large operating potential of 4.0 V, the assFSC exhibited ultrahigh energy density (233.3 W h kg-1 at 2 kW kg-1), ultrahigh power density (125 kW kg-1 at 55.5 W h kg-1), and outstanding static cyclability (less than 10% loss after 5,000 cycles). We also performed a cycle-life test under dynamic deformation and demonstrated that the assFSC had charging and discharging abilities during motion, according to particle applications of wearable electronics. Thus stable and superior electrochemical performance can be attributed to the biomimetic layers-within-networks structure, which not only provided robust framework but also induced 3D conducting networks with increasing ion channels and shortening charge transports. The shapeable electrodes made by a molding process could, therefore, be used to meet the demands for fashionable, wearable electronics.
