Background Procollagen-lysine, 2-oxoglutarate 5-dioxygenase 2 (PLOD2) was induced in hypoxia and participated in cancer development. However, the role of PLOD2 in endometrial carcinoma remains unclear. Objective To explore the influences and regulation mechanism of PLOD2 in endometrial carcinoma under hypoxic condition. Methods The small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting to PLOD2 and pcDNA3.1-PLPD2 were transfected to endometrial carcinoma cells to alter PLOD2 expression. Cell proliferation ability was determined by colony formation assay. Wound healing assay used to detect cell migration ability. Transwell invasion assay was used to detect cell invasion ability. Results PLOD2 and Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) were induced by hypoxia. Down-regulation of PLOD2 did not affect endometrial carcinoma cell proliferation ability, while inhibited cell migration, invasion under hypoxic condition. Besides, down-regulation of PLOD2 increased the levels of γ-catenin and E-cadherin and decreased levels of Fibronectin and Snail under hypoxic condition. Down-regulation of PLOD2 also inactivated Src and phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/ protein kinase B (Akt) signaling under hypoxic condition. The promoting effects of PLOD2 overexpression on migration, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of endometrial carcinoma cells were reversed by Akt inhibitor (MK2206) under hypoxic condition. Conclusion PLOD2 expression was increased in endometrial carcinoma cells under hypoxic condition. PLOD2 modulated migration, invasion, and EMT of endometrial carcinoma cells via PI3K/Akt signaling. PLOD2 may be a potential therapeutic target for endometrial carcinoma.
인터벌웨이트 트레이닝과 써키트웨이트 트레이닝의 效果에 關한 比較硏究

The aim of this study was to verify comparatively the difference of the effects between I.W.T. and C.W.T. to the improvement in multilateral physicalfitness. To accomplish this purpose, the subjects consisted of 13 students in girls' middle school and they were divided into two groups by the way of random sampling: I.W.T. 7, C.W.T.6. Through 10 weeks' training in each group, such findings were gained as follows. 1. The improvement of Strength, Muscular endurance, were appeared significantly in both two groups. 2. The improvement of Power was appeared significantly in I.W.T. group, but not in C.W.T. group. 3. The decrease of % Body fat and Heart rate (at rest, in the load of 300kpm, 450kpm, 600kpm, were appeared significantly in both two groups. 4. Though the differance of effect between I.W.T. and C.W.T. was not appeared significantly in being compared by t-score, but the effect of I.W.T. was appeared much more significantly than the C.W.T. in being compared by % rate.

본 저자들은 백혈병으로 진단 받지 않은 환자에서 경막외에 침범하여 척수를 누르고 있고 수술후 방사선 치료로 증상이 좋아진 과립구상 육종을 경험하였기에 이에 보고하는 바이다. Granulocytic sarcoma is an uncommon tumor composed of immature cells of the granulocytic series, occuring in patients with AML and blast crisis of CML. It may rarely precede an acute myelogenous leukemia with an uniformly fetal course. We experienced a case of granulocytic sarcoma of extradural space presenting as spinal cord compression in a 31 years old female with no evidence of leukemia on the bone marrow and periphera1 blood. The tumor was located to the T₁-T₃ having narrowing pole after decompression laminectomy, patient received local irradiation to the residual tumor bed, and being followed at the OPD without evidence of leukemia.

Scientific knowledge is acquired through the active interactions between the learner's cognitive structure and contents to be learned. It was identified that previous concepts acquired before formal learning opportunity have a crucial influence on the following science education. The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Learning Cycle approach to change the concept of 'osmosis' by cognitive level. Therefore, instruction program using Learning Cycle Model was developed and applied in order tomodify students' misconception on osmosis. The subjects participated in this study were 83 eleventh-graders in Seoul Korea. They were randomly assigned to the control group and experimental group. The experimental groups received the instruction of Learning Cycle approaches. The control groups received a traditional text-book oriented form of instruction that included reading, discussion, and laboratory activities. Then the effectiveness of the two instruction approaches in changing of the concept on osmosis was compared. The results of this study were as follows: (1) Scientific concepts were developed better as their cognitive levels increase. (2) The experimental group significantly outperformed the control group at the .01 level. Therefore, it was found that Learning Cycle approaches were more effective than traditional instruction in the change of concept on osmosis. (3) There was no difference in the lasting of scientific concepts between control group and experimental group.

In this study. Exponential distribution parameter was estimated by MOM(Method of Moments), PWM(Method of Probability Weighted Moments), MLE(Method of Maximum Likelihood Estimation), ENT(Method of Entropy) and LEAS(Method of Least Squares) for Monte Carlo generated samples. The performance of these estimators was statistically compared, with the objective of identifying the most robust estimator from amongst them.
치환 페나실 벤젠 슬포네이트와 N, N-디메틸 아닐린 사이의 속도론적 연구

Kinetic studies of nucleophilic substitution reactions of phenacyl. benzeneslfonates(PBS) with N, N-dimethyl anilines(DMA) were conducted by conductometric method. Hammett and Broensted values were determined, in order to examine the transition state variations caused by changes in nucleophiles, substituents and indicated a relatively advanced bond-formation in the transition state. Application of potential energy surface(PES) and quantum mechanical(QM) models of transition state characterization lead us to conclude that the reaction proceeds via associative S_N2 mechanism. It was found that reactivity-selectivity principle(RSP) and Bell-Evans principle(BEP) held within the DMA series and hence constituted a good example of a thermodynamically controlled reaction series but are violated between two different reaction series with DMA and aniline.
