When a long-lived transaction coexists with short-lived ones, short-lives transactions must wait out until a long-lived one is finished to database resources in traditional two-phase locking scheme. To deal with this situation, altruistic locking has attempted to reduce delay effect associated with lock release moment by use of the idea of donation. An improved form of altruism has also been deployed in extended altruistic locking in a way that scope of data to be early released is enlarged to include even data initially not intended to be donated. The idea of two-way donation locking has been experimented to conquer a single donation with limitations inherent in both altruistic schemes from the perspective of alleviating starvation occasions for transactions in particular of short-lived nature. In this paper, we compare altruistic locking schemes with two-phase locking scheme by simulation experiments and provide an idea to enhance the concurrency control of existing schemes in distributed database systems.
Post obstructive pulmonary edema (POPE) after anesthesia is a rare, but potentially dangerous pulmonary edema during or after relief of severe total or partial upper airway obstruction. The formation of POPE is believed to be the generation of negative intrapleural and intraalveolar pressures which increase the pulmonary transvascular hydrostatic pressure gradient and cause fluid movement to the interstitium and alveoli. Because of both the rapidity and severity with which POPE can develop, prompt recognition and management are essential. A case of POPE after anesthesia in a 23 year-old healthy male undergoing the primary repair of T12 fracture was presented. The patient was extubated without problem after operation. Arrived at the ICU, the patient showed laryngospasm and low oxygen saturation (around 50%). After the intubation with PEEP and the suction of the big amount of pinky frothy transudates through endotracheal tube, oxygen saturation was kept mid 70 s for over 30 minutes. After about 10 times chest compression with suctioning through endotracheal tube, the patient's oxygen saturation showed mid 90 s. This chest compression for the POPE was not recognized by the reference. Even though I can not tell the advantage or disadvantage of this treatment, I report this case for the future reference. After reviewing the reference, the risk factors, differential diagnosis, management and prevention of POPE are discussed.
A 3-year-old castrated male Maltese dog, weighing 4.8 kg was referred with hindlimb ataxia and right forelimb proprioceptive deficits were shown for 20 months. Chiari-like malformation and syringomyelia diagnosed through MRI at a local animal hospital and Knuckling of right forelimb and reluctance to walk were managed with steroid. The medical management was getting ineffective to manage for the symptoms one month before referred. Physical and neurological examinations, radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging were performed and diagnoses of caudal occipital malformation syndrome (COMS) and subsequent syringomyelia (SM) were made. Given that pharmacological treatment was previously ineffective, surgical intervention was recommended. Foramen magnum decompression with duraplasty using Lyoplant<SUP>®</SUP> was performed. Three days post-surgery, the dog showed improved gait and activity. After 2 months, the dog received no additional prescription medications. At the 12-month follow-up after surgery, the dog showed no clinical problems or recurrences, despite complete cessation of pharmacological treatment. In present report, we applied Lyoplant<SUP>®</SUP> as a dural graft has been carried out in a dog with COMS. Surgical decompression with Lyoplant<SUP>®</SUP> was an effective long-term (12-month) treatment for COMS without the need for any pharmacological treatment.
드론은 4차 산업 혁명에서 정보기술과 융합하여 산업을 이끌어 갈 중요한 요소이다. 세계적으로 드론에 대한 관심이 급격히 커지면서 많은 국가에서 드론을 미래 전략산업의 하나로 주목하고 있으며 드론 관련 기술에 대한 연구개발과 활용을 위해 많은 노력을 하고 있다. 드론은 통신/항법/교통 관리기술, 제어 및 탐지/회피 기술, 센서 기술 및 SW 및 응용기술과의 접목을 통해 다양하게 기술이 발전하고 있으며 완구에서부터, 산업, 농업 등 다양한 분야에서 드론의 공급 및 수요가 증가하고 있다. 그러나, 드론기술이 정착되기 위해서는 해결되어야 할 여러 가지 문제점들이 있다. 본 논문에서는 드론의 활용분야 및 국내외 사례와 드론의 핵심기술을 통하여 드론기술적용에 대한 문제점들을 살펴보고자 한다. 드론 시장의 성장을 위해서는 법과 제도의 정비, 무선통신에서의 보안 취약점, 프라이버시 및 안전성 문제를 제안하였으며, 특별히 한국의 환경에서 드론서비스를 위한 기술적, 관리적 문제점에 대하여 제시하였다. In the fourth industrial revolution, drones are an important element to lead the industry by converging with information technology. Drones are developing various technologies by combining with communication / navigation / traffic management technology, control and detection / avoidance technology, sensor technology, SW and application technology. However, there are various problems in order to settle the drone technology. In this paper, it will be examined the problems of application of drones through application fields of drones, domestic and foreign cases, and core technologies of drones. The growth of the drone market requires improvement of laws and institutions. This paper proposed security vulnerability, privacy and safety problem in wireless communication, and present technical and management problems for drone service in the Korean environment in particular.
