Geometrical design characteristics of orthodontic mini-implants predicting maximum insertion torque

Objective: To determine the unique contribution of geometrical design characteristics of orthodontic mini-implants on maximum insertion torque while controlling for the influence of cortical bone thickness. Methods: Total number of 100 cylindrical orthodontic mini-implants was used. Geometrical design characteristics of ten specimens of ten types of cylindrical self-drilling orthodontic mini-implants (Ortho Easy®, Aarhus, and Dual TopTM) with diameters ranging from 1.4 to 2.0 mm and lengths of 6 and 8 mm were measured. Maximum insertion torque was recorded during manual insertion of mini-implants into bone samples. Cortical bone thickness was measured. Retrieved data were analyzed in a multiple regression model. Results: Significant predictors for higher maximum insertion torque included larger outer diameter of implant, higher lead angle of thread, and thicker cortical bone, and their unique contribution to maximum insertion torque was 12.3%, 10.7%, and 24.7%, respectively. Conclusions: The maximum insertion torque values are best controlled by choosing an implant diameter and lead angle according to the assessed thickness of cortical bone.
NATIONAL DOI MOI IN VIETNAM AND EXPERIENCE FOR ITS FURTHER REFORM STAGES

In the face of complicated situations in the world and in the country, the State of Vietnam has made important decisions in orienting the country's development path, which is to change the thinking about the country's leadership carried out "carried out inclusive national Doi Moi in December 1986". This is considered an important milestone in the process of bringing the country out of underdevelopment, improving people's living standards, and enhancing Vietnam's position in the international arena. The article has summarized the process of national Doi Moi of Vietnam, including the necessity to carry out doi moi; innovation process; achievements and limitations in the process of national renewal after 36 years. Finally, the author proposes urgent and important lessons to continue implementing the country's doi moi process in the next stages, which are forecasted to have many important changes in geopolitics, economy, etc. In addition, there are many complicated problems in the country that need to be solved such as corruption, environmental pollution, and the economy is in a difficult period.

Proverb is the treasure where stores people’s folk knowledge, summarized from the general experiences about the nature and social relations. Proverb expressed in focus the way of living, the features of thinking, expressing the thought, it means the way of speaking and thinking of people. Therefore, it is a synthetical phenomenon where the cultural hallmark quite obviously. In that way, we can assert surely that there is the cultural nature inside the proverb. With the linguistic essence and artistic essence, the cultural nature contributes to enhance strength of proverb in folklore in general and genres of literature in particular. This paper reconfirms the range of proverb notion and the line to distinguish proverb from several genres of folk literature. After that, the paper analyzes aspects of content in proverb to enhance the cultural nature of this genre. Proverb is a vivid picture about Vietnamese culture. The paper mentiones on the aspects of material life and the social life that expressed through the topics about the custom in Viet proverb. Particularly, the paper emphasizes and analyses the advantages of proverb in representing conceptions, the way of assessment, philosophy of human life, expressing the ability in thinking and reflecting the psychological life and spirit of Vietnamese. This is the most typical character for nature of proverb in general and being a specific characteristics to distinguish proverb’s cultural essence, making cultral characteristic of proverb is more original than if comparing with the other genres in folklore. The paper indicates that using proverb in the life being an original characteristic in treatment culture of Vietnamese people. For that reason, the paper demonstrates that Viet proverb contains all cultural hallmark of traditional Vietnamese society.

Genus Ernobius C. G. Thomson, 1859 is recorded for the first time in Korea, with the presence of twospecies described from Japan recently collected at the locality of Daejeon. For each species, morphological description, distribution, and biology are given, and pictures of the habitus, antenna, and maleaedeagus are provided. The existing problem about the determination of the species because of a poorrepresentation of the aedeagus in the species of the genus given by the different authors is discussed. Inaddition, the probable specific invalidity of Ernobius sakai Zahradník, 2013 described from China is alsodiscussed.

This paper is devoted to studying abstract stochastic semilinear evolution equations with additive noise in Hilbert spaces. First, we prove the existence of unique local mild solutions and show their regularity. Second, we show the regular dependence of the solutions on initial data. Finally, some applications to stochastic partial differential equations are presented.

Usually is common to see great diferences among plants in our crops, this can allow us to think about selection of some plants with the best traits in order to show that character in the next generation and thus improve our crops. Nevertheless, we forget that the observed phenotypic variance of our crop is due to several factors as genetic and environmental components. Knowing how these factors afect traits is an important question because it can tell us whether a selection program is viable or not, which can save efort, time, and money. Here, we present a case of study in a Tabasco chili pepper crop from southwestern Colombia where farmers generally practice selection ignoring the genetic and environmental components of the selected traits. To reveal these components, we proposed to use the estimation of heritability in a narrow sense, for which we developed measurements in two generations of plants and we applied a simple regression model in concordance with the expected inbreeding value for an autogamous species. Subsequently, we amplifed microsatellite molecular markers to support heritability values based on genetic diversity and confrmed whether the assumed inbreeding value for their estimation based on the life history of the species, was correct.

The simulation of the electrical resistance sintering (ERS) of hardmetal powders has been studied. The ERS process canproduce a quick consolidation of electrical conductive powders by the simultaneous application of pressure and electricalcurrent. A model of the process has been developed, integrating three actions, namely, thermal, mechanical and electrical,and taking into account the nature of both the powders and the die where powders are placed. The model has been implementedin COMSOL Multiphysics, a finite element commercial program. This paper deals with the model fundamentals andhardmetal particular aspects, such as modelling properties of mixed powders and its thermal behaviour. Other parameters inthe model have been tuned to optimally fit the initial experimental data. To check simulation results, measurable parametershave been monitored during experimental tests with WC–6 wt% Co. Once the model was completed and put to work, resultsare discussed.
A new hybrid HSDT for bending, free vibration, and buckling analysis of FGM plates (2D & quasi-3D)

A new hybrid quasi-3D and 2D high-order shear deformation theory is studied in this mathematical formulation, for an investigation of the bending, free vibrations and buckling influences on a functionally graded material plate. The theoretical formulation has been begun by a displacement field of five unknowns, governing the transverse displacement across the thickness of the plate by bending, shearing and stretching. The transverse shear deformation effect has been taken into consideration, satisfying the stress-free boundary conditions, especially on plate free surfaces as parabolic variation through its thickness. Thus, the mechanical properties of the functionally graded plate vary across the plate thickness, following three distributions forms: the power law, exponential form and the Mori-Tanaka scheme. The mechanical properties are used to develop the equations of motion, obtained from the Hamilton principle, and solved by applying the Navier-type solution for simply supported boundary conditions. The results obtained are compared with other solutions of 2D, 3D and quasi-3D plate theories have been found in the literature.
