Data redundancy has high impact on Wireless Sensor Network`s (WSN) performance and reliability. Spatial and temporal similarity is an inherent property of sensory data. By reducing this spatio-temporal data redundancy, substantial amount of nodal energy and bandwidth can be conserved. Most of the data gathering approaches use either temporal correlation or spatial correlation to minimize data redundancy. In Collective Prediction exploiting Spatio Temporal correlation (CoPeST), we exploit both the spatial and temporal correlation between sensory data. In the proposed work, the spatial redundancy of sensor data is reduced by similarity based sub clustering, where closely correlated sensor nodes are represented by a single representative node. The temporal redundancy is reduced by model based prediction approach, where only a subset of sensor data is transmitted and the rest is predicted. The proposed work reduces substantial amount of energy expensive communication, while maintaining the data within user define error threshold. Being a distributed approach, the proposed work is highly scalable. The work achieves up to 65% data reduction in a periodical data gathering system with an error tolerance of 0.6°C on collected data.

Let 𝜙 be an entire self map on ℂ and let 𝜓 be an entire function on ℂ. A weighted composition operator induced by 𝜙 with weight 𝜓 is given by C𝜓,𝜙. In this paper we investigate under what conditions the weighted composition operators C𝜓,𝜙 on the Fock space over ℂ induced by 𝜙 with weight of the form $k_c({\zeta})=e^{{\langle}{\zeta},c{\rangle}-{\frac{{\mid}c{\mid}^2}{2}}}$ is normaloid and essentially normaloid.

The electrochemical performances of anode composites comprising elemental silicon (Si), silicon monoxide (SiO),and graphite (C) were investigated. The composite devoid of elemental silicon (SiO:C = 1:1) and its carbon coated composite showed reduced capacity degradation with measured values of 606 and 584 mAh/g at the fiftieth cycle. The capacity retention nature when the composites were cycled followed the order of Si:SiO:C = 3:1:4 < Si:SiO:C =2:2:4 < SiO:C = 1:1 < SiO:C = 1:1 (carbon coated). A comparison of the capacity retention properties for the composites in terms of the silicon content showed that a reduced silicon content increased the stability of the composite electrodes. Even though the carbon-coated composite delivered low capacity during cycling compared to the other composites, its low capacity degradation made the anode a better choice for lithium ion batteries.

The formation of Li-Si-O phases, $Li_4SiO_4$ and $Li_2SiO_3$ from the starting materials SiO and $Li_2O$ are analyzed using Vienna Ab-initio Simulation (VASP) package and the total energies of Li-Si-O compounds are evaluated using Projector Augmented Wave (PAW) method and correlated the structural characteristics of the binary system SiO-$Li_2O$ with experimental data from electrochemical method. Despite $Li_2SiO_3$ becomes stable phase by virtue of lowest formation energy calculated through VASP, the experimental method shows presence of $Li_4SiO_4$ as the only product formed when SiO and $Li_2O$ reacts during slow heating to reach $550^{\circ}C$ and found no evidence for the formation of $Li_2SiO_3$. Also, higher density of $Li_4SiO_4$(2.42 g $ml^{-1}$) compared to the compositional mixture $1SiO_2-2Li_2O$ (2.226 g $ml^{-1}$) and better cycle capacity observed through experiment proves that $Li_4SiO_4$ as the most stable anode supported by better cycleabilityfor lithium ion battery remains as paradox from the point of view of VASP calculations.

Background: We investigated the association between polymorphisms in the $p53$ tumor suppressor gene and breast cancer risk in women especially in the Southern part of India. Methods: Genotyping was performed for 50 breast cancer women and 50 controls to determine the status of $p53$ exon 4 codon 72 polymorphism and exon 7 codon 249 mutation and their possible role in breast cancer risk. Results: Frequency of Arg/Arg at codon 72 was 18% in controls and 28% in patients, Arg/Pro frequency was 56% and 66%, Pro/Pro genotype was 8% in controls and 8% in patients. No significance was observed for breast cancer risk with either Arg/Arg or Pro/Pro genotype in codon 72 polymorphism. Similarly, mutation analysis of exon 7 codon 249 revealed that 72% of breast cancer patients have mutation, which is not statistically significant. However, there is a strong association between increase in exon 7 codon 249 mutation and exposure to pollution. Conclusion: The results suggested that there is no risk for exon 4 with Arg/Arg or Pro/Pro polymorphisms in the $p53$ gene and there is no strong correlation between breast cancer patients and mutation in exon 7 codon 249 in South Indian women.

In the present study, the alcoholic extract of Terminalia arjuna (TA) and Arjunolic acid (AA) were studied for its anti-asthmatic and anaphylactic activity. Treatment with TA (250 & 500 mg/kg) and AA (50&100 mg/kg) has shown significant protection against mast cell disruption in rats induced by compound 48/80. TA and AA also protected the guinea pig against histamine as well as acetylcholine induced bronchospasm. Both TA & AA exhibited better protection against histamine release than against acetylcholine release. Anti-asthmatic and anaphylactic activity may be possibly due to membrane stabilizing potential and inhibition of antigen induced histamine and acetylcholine release.

effects of the alcoholic extract of Bacopa monniera (BMA) on morphine-induced pharmaco-logical activities were studied in mice. Oral administration of the extract (40 mg/kg) significantly inhibitedmorphine-induced analgesic tolerance, withdrawal symptoms, hyperactivity, reverse tolerance, Dopamine receptorsupersensitivity and apo-morphine-induced climbing behaviour in mice. The results of this study showed that, alcoholic extract of Bacopa monniera (BMA) exerted inhibitory efect against morphine-induced pharma-cological effects, suggesting that the extract could be useful in the treatment of morphine toxicity.KeywordsBacopa monniera, morphine toxicity, hyperactivity, analgesic tolerance, supersensitivity, climbingbehaviour
