In this study, we prepared series of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET)/polyethylene (PE) blends using melt extrusion. The effect of RPET content on crystallization behavior and thermal conductive properties of the resultant blends were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), etc. RPET was found to exert nucleating effect on the melt crystallization of PE. The Agari model presented fairly reasonable prediction of thermal conductivity as a function of RPET loading. The melt cooling process was predicted with an enthalpy transformation method (ETM), which is a well-established mean of evaluating the instantaneous heat conduction of crystalline polymers/composites, and the obtained curves were consistent with our experimental results. Besides, a four-parameter model (FPM) was adopted coupled with an in-situ temperature measurement in order to further disclose the solidification and crystallization kinetics of PE in the presence of RPET in the blends.

In this paper, we investigate a family of holomorphic functions in several complex variables concerning the total derivative (or called radial derivative), and obtain some well-known normality criteria such as the Miranda's theorem, the Marty's theorem and results on the Hayman's conjectures in several complex variables. A high-dimension version of the famous Zalcman's lemma for normal families is also given.

The heat tolerance and the inactivation kinetics of peroxidase (POD) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) in pineapples (Ananas comosus) were studied in the temperature range 45-95℃. The kinetic parameters, such as deactivation rate constant (k), activation energy (Ea), and decimal reduction rate (D) of the thermal inactivation process, were determined. POD in pineapples showed biphasic inactivation behavior at temperatures range 45-75℃ but was monophasic at 85-95℃. This indicate that POD has 2 isozymes, namely heat labile and heat resistant, with Ea of 68.79 and 93.23 kJ/㏖, respectively. On the other hand, the heat denaturation of pineapple PPO could be described as simple monophasic first-order behavior with Ea of 80.15 kJ/㏖. Thus, the results of this study is useful in blanching technology where it shows a shortened time with higher temperature can be applied. The determination of the heat tolerance and inactivation POD and PPO, at different temperature range as done in the present work, was very important to improve the blanching process. This also will help to optimize the pineapple canning process which is one of the most important food industries in many tropical regions.
Buckling Analysis of Steel H Column with Thermal Gradient Along the Flanges
Wei-bin Yuan,Pei-jun Ge,Yue-ting Shen,Shan-shan Cheng,Nan-ting Yu 한국강구조학회 2020 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.20 No.2
This paper presents an analytical study about the axial compression buckling of H-section columns with one side of the flanges exposed to fire. The fire-induced thermal gradient along the flanges is obtained by using simplified Fourier heat conduction equation. The pre-buckling stress and bowing effect due to the non-uniform temperature distribution through the cross-section is considered. The analysis is accomplished by using the Rayleigh–Ritz method. The analytical solution is validated by finite element analysis using ANSYS. Finally, the parametric study is performed for different sections including different values of length, thickness ratio and width-to-height ratio.

This paper presents an analytical approach to predict the critical load of global buckling with locally buckled channel-section columns under axial compressive loads. The eff ect of local deformation before global buckling is considered. The analysis is performed by using the Rayleigh–Ritz method. The analytical solution is validated by using the nonlinear fi nite element analysis method. Parametric study is also performed for diff erent sections including diff erent values of slenderness ratio, height-thickness ratio and width-height ratio. The comparison between the present approach and those taken from Chinese and American standards demonstrates that the present model provides a good approach for predicting the critical loads of steel columns involving local and global buckling interaction.
