Osmotically drug delivery systems utilize osmotic pressure as driving force for controlled delivery of drugs. The release of drug from these systems is independent of the physiological factors of the gastrointestinal tract (GI) to a large extent. Different types of osmotically controlled oral drug delivery systems (OROS) were present in a number of patents. Because patents are hard to read, to analyze, and to judge due to the different styles in which they are written. This review analyzes U.S. patents on OROS, different types of OROS with advantages, limitations and applications are discussed.
Relative Motions in Multiple Caisson Units on Damaged Foundation
Thanh-Canh Huynh,So-Young Lee,Jeong-Tae Kim,Sang-Hun Han 대한조선학회 2012 대한조선학회 학술대회자료집 Vol.2012 No.5
This study presents the relative motions in multiple caisson units due to foundation damage. To obtain the objective, the following approaches are performed. Firstly, a finite element (FE) model of two-caisson system with simulation soil-structure interaction is established in commercial software ANSYS in order to investigate relative motions in harbor caisson system. Secondly, relative displacement of caisson units under various foundation damage scenarios is measured from static and dynamic states. Thirdly, the results are analyzed to monitor the health condition of the target harbor caisson.

Purpose: The main objective of this paper is to propose an RD method by developing a neural network (NN)-based estimation approach in order to provide an alternative aspect of response surface methodology (RSM). Methods: A specific modeling procedure for integrating NN principles into response function estimations is identified in order to estimate functional relationships between input factors and output responses. Finally, a comparative study based on simulation is performed as verification purposes. Results: This simulation study demonstrates that the proposed NN-based RD method provides better optimal solutions than RSM. Conclusion: The proposed NN-based RD approach can be a potential alternative method to utilize many RD problems in competitive manufacturing nowadays.

The effect of solvent fractions from brown algae (Ishige okamurae) on allergic inflammatory reactions was investigated via measuring histamine release and cytokine generation in human basophilic KU812F cells induced by calcium ionophore A23187. Moreover, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) profiles were identied and quantied in the most active fraction. It was found that n-hexane and ethyl acetate (EtOAc) fraction at 50 μg/mL significantly reduce histamine release with the release rates of 24 and 20%, respectively. Likewise, the suppressive effect of nhexane and EtOAc fraction on production as well as expression of interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 was determined. Notably, EtOAc fraction exhibited more effective inhibition than n-hexane in all assays. Furthermore, GC analysis revealed that EtOAc fraction contains various antiinflammatory PUFAs such as eicosapentaenoic acid, eicosatrienoic acid, linolenic acid, and γ-linolenic acid. Collectively, EtOAc fraction from brown algae could be a potential inhibitor of allergic inflammatory reactions in basophils that is suggested to be due to PUFAs.
Flocking Control for Multiple Polygonal Agents with Limited Communication Ranges
Thanh Binh Nguyen(탄 빈 응우엔),Sung Hyun Kim(김성현) 대한전기학회 2019 전기학회논문지 Vol.68 No.7
In the recent researches on multiple-agent systems, each agent is considered as a single point or covered by a circle or ellipse in which, in many circumstances, these agents were not fitted in such as triangular, rectangle and hexagon agents, etc. This paper puts forward a distributed control law for arbitrarily polygonal shape agents under limited communication ranges. The proposed control laws guarantee all flocking properties such as: each agent stays close to its nearby neighbors, no collisions between any agents and the convergence of each agent"s velocity to the desire. In addition, the control signal is differentiable despite of agent"s limited communication ranges and non- smooth boundary in the agent shape. The control law is designed base on a new approach on collision avoidance conditions between the polygonal shape agents to generate the desired control law. The numerical simulations are implemented to demonstrate the performing in the same shape group of agents using the proposed control law.
A Novel Design of Suspension System for Driver's Seat
Thanh-Tung Luu(Thanh-Tung Luu),박성태(Sung-Tae Park) 한국자동차공학회 2005 한국자동차공학회 춘 추계 학술대회 논문집 Vol.2005 No.5_2
A driver's seat can be modeled with a suspension system of spring, mass and damper. To increase the capacity of anti-vibration, the natural frequency should be decreased as low as possible. In this paper, the method to decrease the natural frequency by the potential energy is introduced. In addition, the experiment is done on a small model to prove the theorem.
