Strong thermal X-ray emission, called Galactic Ridge X-ray Emission, is observed along the Galactic plane (Koyama et al. 1986). The origin of hot ($\~$7 keV) component of GRXE is not known, while cool ($\~$0.8 keV) one is associated with supernovae (Kaneda et al. 1997, Sugizaki et al. 2001). We propose a possible mechanism to explain the origin; locally strong magnetic fields of $B_{local}\;\~30{\mu}G$ heat interstellar gas to $\~$7 keV via magnetic reconnection (Tanuma et al. 1999). There will be the small-scale (< 10 pc) strong magnetic fields, which can be observed as $(B)_{obs} \;\~3{\mu}G$ by integration of Faraday Rotation Measure, if it is localized by a volume filling factor of f $\~$ 0.1. In order to examine this model, we solved three-dimensional (3D) resistive magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations numerically to examine the magnetic reconnect ion triggered by a supernova shock (fig.l). We assume that the magnetic field is Bx = 30tanh(y/20pc) $\mu$G, By = Bz = 0, and the temperature is uniform, at the initial condition. We put a supernova explosion outside the current sheet. The supernova-shock, as a result, triggers the magnetic reconnect ion, and the gas is heatd to > 7 keV. The magnetic reconnect ion heats the interstellar gas to $\~$7 keV in the Galactic plane, if it occurs in the locally strong magnetic fields of $B_{local}\;\~30{\mu}G$. The heated plasma is confined by the magnetic field for $\~10^{5.5} yr$. The required interval of the magnetic reconnect ions (triggered by anything) is $\~$1 - 10 yr. The magnetic reconnect ion will explain the origin of X-rays from the Galactic ridge, furthermore the Galactic halo, and clusters of galaxies.

We examined the cellular distribution and regulation of protein kinase C delta in the spinal cord of rats with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE). Northern blotting showed that levels of PKC delta mRNA was significantly increased at the peak stage of EAE and its expression decreased to the level of non-immunized conrols at the recovery stage. By in situ hybridization, signals of PKC delta was localized on the inflammatory cells including mainly T cells and macrophages as well as some brain cells. This finding suggests a hypothesis that increased expression of PKC on inflammatory cells in EAE lesions is associated with the regulation of signaling pathway involving T cell activation at the early stage of EAE and/or apoptosis on inflammatory cells including T cells at recovery stage, which lead to spontaneous recovery.

This paper presents a numerical study for unsteady flows in a high-pressure steam turbine with a partial admission stage. Compressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved by the high-order high-resolution finite-difference method based on the fourth-order compact MUSCL TVD scheme, Roe's approximate Riemann solver, and the LU-SGS scheme. The SST-model is also solved for evaluating the eddy-viscosity. The unsteady two-dimensional flows through whole nozzle-rotor cascade channels considering a partial admission are numerically investigated. 108 nozzle passages with two blockages and 60 rotor passages are simultaneously calculated. The influence of the flange in the nozzle box to the lift of rotors is predicted. Also the efficiency of the partial admission stage changing the number of blockages and the number of nozzles is parametrically predicted.

Protein kinase C an enzyme of signal transduction has been known to regulate cell proliferation activation as well as apoptosis in some cancer cell lines. To explore the role of PKC in the course of cell mediated autoimmune disease such as experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) EAE was induced in Lewis rats(6-8 weeks old) with immunization of myelin basic protein supplemented with complete Freund's adjuvants and affected spinal cords were sampled at days 13 postimmunization(PI) as peak stage of EAE and at days 21 PI as recovery stage. The spinal cords with EAE were subjected to Northern blot analysis and insitu hybridization of PKC delta which is one of prominant isotypes of PKC in the haematopoietic cells. Northern blot analysis showed that levels of PKS delta mRNA in the spinal cords of rats withEAE was significantly increased at days 13 PI in which inflammatory cells including T cells and macrophages in the EAE lesions appeared. however the stage.
