Generalized Faraday Law Derived from Classical Forces in a Rotating Frame
Taeseung Choi 한국물리학회 2010 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.57 No.1
We show that an additional spin-dependent classical force due to the rotation of an electron spin’s rest frame is essential to derive a spin-Faraday law that has the same form as the usual Faraday law. We show that the contribution of the additional spin-dependent force to the spin-Faraday law is the same as the time derivative of the spin geometric phase. With this observations, the spin-Faraday law is generalized to include both an Aharonov-Casher (AC) effect and a scalar AC effect in a unified manner.
Implementation of emulator for evaluating the RF characteristics of active RFID
Taeseung Song,Joon Lyou 대한전자공학회 2008 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2008 No.7
In this study, an emulator for standard conformance test on active RFID has been designed and substantiated. The developed evaluating device is a standard signal generator with reproducibility for standard conformance testing. It was designed so that the emulator would give commands or responses to the reader and tag to be tested, and that can check the malfunction of the reader and the tag using a standard signal. Further, some random functional changes, (i.e., transmission output, frequency shift, bit rate accuracy), have been made to the evaluating device to check for various errors and malfunctions raised in the testing sample for improvements to be made.
Design and Performance Analysis of Emulator for Standard Conformance Test of Active RFID
Taeseung Song,이왕상,Taeyeon Kim,Joon Lyou 한국전자통신연구원 2009 ETRI Journal Vol.31 No.4
An active radio frequency identification (RFID) system has the advantages of a long identification distance and a good identification rate, overcoming passive RFID drawbacks. Therefore, interest in the development of active RFID systems has been gradually increasing in areas of harbor logistics and national defense. However, some identification failures between active RFID systems developed under the same standards have been reported, presumably due to a lack of development of accurate evaluation methods and test equipment. We present a realization of the hardware and software of an emulator to evaluate the standard conformance of an active RFID system in a fully anechoic chamber. The performance levels of the designed emulator are analyzed using Matlab/Simulink simulations, and the applicability of the emulator is verified by evaluating the standard conformance of a real active RFID tag. Finally, we propose a new evaluation method by incorporating a self-running test mode environment into the RFID tags to reduce testing time and increase testing accuracy. The application of the suggested method to actual tags improves measurement uncertainty by 0.56 dB over that obtained using existing methods.
koSSLT: Korean Single Stream Sign Language Translation for Disaster Announcement
Taeseung Gil(길태승),JungMok Lee(이정목),Gyohun Hwang(황교훈),Jihyeon Kim(김지현),Seungryul Baek(백승렬) 대한전자공학회 2023 대한전자공학회 학술대회 Vol.2023 No.11
Comprehensive and accessible communication for the deaf is crucial, but the availability of sign language interpreter is limited. Although the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models(LLMs), the availability problem is not yet solved. As the languages of different countries are all different, sign languages are nationally distinct. Therefore, there must be exist each sign languages translator according to each sign language. This is the work that provides a simple yet effective training scheme for obtaining the Korean-based sign language recognition system from previous sign language recognition system for disaster guidance. It utilizes a pretrained S3D model to extract motion information from sign language and a pretrained multilingual BART (mBART) model to convert the motion information into text. Experimental results demonstrate impressive performance and the potential to address communication barriers for deaf individuals during disasters.
능동형 RFID 태그에서 자체 시험 모드를 순차적으로 적용한 적합성 평가방법
송태승(Taeseung Song),김태연(Taeyeon Kim),유준(Joon Lyou) 대한전자공학회 2008 電子工學會論文誌-CI (Computer and Information) Vol.45 No.6
Active RFID tags are currently used in harbor transportation; they are attached to cargo containers for sea transportation. They are designed to be able to be identified by RFID readers installed at ports in many countries. The international standard ISO/IEC 18047-7 regarding RFID conformance test methods suggests the use of air interface evaluation between an RFID reader and a tag. However, the test method suggested by the international standard is intended to detect a radio signal over only a very short period. Outcomes were uncertain, making it difficult to evaluate the system accurately. This paper proposes a new evaluation method by incorporating a ‘self-running test mode’ environment into the RFID tags in order to reduce the test time and increase testing accuracy. We found that the application of the suggested method to actual tags improves measurement time and uncertainty over that obtained using existing methods.
