Flame Propagation to Lean Region in Stratified Mixture Formed by Transient Gas Fuel Jet
Toshiaki KITAGAWA,Hiroyuki KIDO,Kyu Sung KIM,Hirotaka KOGA 한국자동차공학회 2001 한국자동차공학회 Symposium Vol.- No.-
Combustion characteristics of the stratified mixture were examined by the experiments using a constant volume bomb and the numerical simulations of counterflow premixed flame. We investigated the characteristics of the flame propagation to the lean region and examined the minimum equivalence ratio of the lean region that the flame generated in the rich region can propagate to, as the bulk quenching was found to occur in the over lean region.
In the experiments, the stratified mixture was formed in the constant volume bomb by the injection of gaseous propane into the lean propane-air mixture charge, whose equivalence ratio was less than the lower flammability limit of the premixed mixture. The flame generated in the fuel jet region propagated wide into the lean mixture charge region as the stoichiometry of the mixture charge was increased, even though the charge was too lean to ignite. This result shows the flame in the rich region propagates into the lean region by the "back-support" of the rich flame.
Numerical study of counterflow premixed flame was examined next in order to investigate the interaction between the rich flame and the lean region. Rich and lean mixtures were opposed and the stoichiometry of the lean mixture was varied widely. Reaction rate of the propane in the lean mixture was large when the equivalence ratio of the lean mixture was 0.40 or more.
A Consideration of Noise Cancellation by using PCA-ICA Method with Delay Estimation
Toshiaki Yokoda,Mohammad Reza Alsharif,Mahdi Khosravy 대한전자공학회 2008 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2008 No.7
The noise cancellation technologies are useful for speech recognition and other applications. There are some kind of methods for cancellation of background noise. In this paper, The desired signals are separated from background noise by using proposed PCA-ICA method (Principal Component Analysis, Independent Component Analysis). The proposed PCA-ICA method requires several number of observed signals that is, the same as the number of sources. The noise signal can be removed in the same way as BSS (Blind Source Separation). We have done experiments (two-observation one-source one-noise, with delay) and evaluated the results.

Background/Aims Gastric acid secretion is suspected to be a pivotal contributor to the pathogenesis of functional dyspepsia. The present study investigates the potential association of the gastric acid secretion estimated by measuring serum pepsinogen with therapeutic responsiveness to the prokinetic drug acotiamide. Methods Dyspeptic patients consulting participating clinics from October 2017 to March 2019 were prospectively enrolled in the study. The dyspeptic symptoms were classified into postprandial distress syndrome (PDS) and epigastric pain syndrome (EPS). Gastric acid secretion levels were estimated by the Helicobacter pylori infection status and serum pepsinogen using established criteria and classified into hypo-, normo-, and hyper-secretion. Each patient was then administered 100 mg acotiamide thrice daily for 4 weeks, and the response rate to the treatment was evaluated using the overall treatment efficacy scale. Results Of the 86 enrolled patients, 56 (65.1%) and 26 (30.2%) were classified into PDS and EPS, respectively. The estimated gastric acid secretion was not significantly different between PDS and EPS. The response rates were 66.0% for PDS and 73.1% for EPS, showing no significant difference. While the response rates were stable, ranging from 61.0% to 75.0% regardless of the estimated gastric acid secretion level among subjects with PDF, the rates were significantly lower in hyper-secretors than in non-hyper-secretors among subjects with EPS (42.0% vs 83.0%, P = 0.046). Conclusion Although acotiamide is effective for treating EPS as well as PDS overall, the efficacy is somewhat limited in EPS with gastric acid hypersecretion, with gastric acid suppressants, such as proton pump inhibitors, being more suitable. Nystagmus as a Sign of Labyrinthine Disorders -Three-Dimensional Analysis of Nystagmus-
Toshiaki Yagi 대한이비인후과학회 2008 Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology Vol.1 No.2
In order to diagnose the pathological condition of vertiginous patients, a detailed observation of nystagmus in addition to examination of body equilibrium and other neurotological tests are essential. How to precisely record the eye movements is one of the goals of the researchers and clinicians who are interested in the analysis of eye movements for a long time. For considering that, one has to think about the optimal method for recording eye movements. In this review, the author introduced a new method, that is, an analysis of vestibular induced eye movements in three-dimensions and discussed the advantages and limitations of this method. Study Design: Retrospective study. Purpose: We compared the accuracy of O-arm-based navigation with computed tomography (CT)-based navigation in scoliotic surgery. Overview of Literature: No previous reports comparing the results of O-arm-based navigation with conventional CT-based navigation in scoliotic surgery have been published. Methods: A total of 222 pedicle screws were implanted in 29 patients using CT-based navigation (group C) and 416 screws were implanted in 32 patients using O-arm-based navigation (group O). Postoperative CT was performed to assess the screw accuracy, using the established Neo classification (grade 0: no perforation, grade 1: perforation <2 mm, grade 2: perforation ≥2 and <4, and grade 3: perforation ≥4 mm). Results: In group C, 188 (84.7%) of the 222 pedicle screw placements were categorized as grade 0, 23 (10.4%) were grade 1, 11 (5.0%) were grade 2, and 0 were grade 3. In group O, 351 (84.4%) of the 416 pedicle screw placements were categorized as grade 0, 52 (12.5%) were grade 1, 13 (3.1%) were grade 2, and 0 were grade 3. Statistical analysis showed no significant difference in the prevalence of grade 2–3 perforations between groups C and O. The time to position one screw, including registration, was 10.9±3.2 minutes in group C, but was significantly decreased to 5.4±1.1 minutes in group O. Conclusions: O-arm-based navigation facilitates pedicle screw insertion as accurately as conventional CT-based navigation. The use of O-arm-based navigation successfully reduced the time, demonstrating advantages in the safety and accuracy of pedicle screw placement for scoliotic surgery.
