The maximum Euclidean norm of the complementary signal response at samling times of the networks of which element values are within tolerance and are interconnected properly, is chosen as the criterion of GO-NO-GO decision. And using SPICE program, the fault detection resolution to single component parameter variations is determined about a 2-pole Butterworth filter and a 4-pole/2-zero Butterworth filter and it is shown that the maximum Euclidean norm of the output can be used as a simple criterion for fault detection.

Quantification of Angular Prediction Accuracy for Phased Array Radar Tracking

위상배열레이더를 이용한 추적의 성능을 지수화하기 위해서 각도예측 오차공분산행렬의 함수를 이용한 정량화 방법에 대해 검토하였다. 특히, 이 오차공분산행렬의 함수로 최대고유값과 대각합을 이용하여 정량화하는 경우에 대해 안테나 빔조향 손실을 반영한 표적탐지확률을 기준으로 정량화의 일관성을 수치실험을 통해 검토하였다. 이를 통해 추적성능을 표적탐지확률로 기준하는 경우, 대각합이 최대고유값 보다 더 일관성을 갖는 정량화 함수임을 확인하였다. Scalar quantification of the angular prediction error covariance matrix is considered for characterizing tracking performances in phased array radar tracking. Specifically, the maximum eigenvalue and the trace of the covariance matrix are examined in terms of consistency in parameterizing the probability of detection, taking antenna beam-pointing losses into account, and it is shown numerically that the latter is more consistent.
Closed-Form Solution of ECA Target-Tracking Filter using Position and Velocity Measurements

Presented are closed-form expressions of the three-state exponentially correlated acceleration(ECA) target-tracking filter. The steady-state solution is derived based on Vaughan's approach for the case that the measurements of target position and velocity are available at discrete points in time. The solution for the ECA tracking filter using only position measurements and the solution for the constant acceleration(CA) tracking filter are obtained as a special case of the presented results.
COPD and lung cancer incidence in never smokers: A cohort study

There has been limited evidence for the association between COPD and incidence of lung cancer among never smokers. We aimed to estimate the risk of lung cancer incidence in never smokers with COPD, and to compare it with the risk associated with smoking. Cohort study of 338,548 subjects 40 to 84 years of age with no history of lung cancer at baseline enrolled in the National Health Insurance Service National Sample Cohort. During 2,355,005 personyears of follow-up (median follow-up 7.0 years), 1,834 participants developed lung cancer. Compared to never smokers without COPD, the fully-adjusted hazard ratios for lung cancer in never smokers with COPD, ever smokers without COPD, and ever smokers with COPD were 2.67, 1.97, and 6.19, respectively. In this large national cohort study, COPD was also a strong independent risk factor for lung cancer incidence in never smokers, implying that COPD patients are at high risk of lung cancer, irrespective smoking status.

This research was conducted to develop effective and safe marine-derived antiviral compounds against norovirus. The ethyl acetate (EtOAc)-extract from Eisenia bicyclis exhibited strong antiviral activity against murine norovirus (MNV) as a norovirus surrogate. Among the phlorotannins from E. bicyclis, dieckol (DE) and phlorofucofuroeckol-A (PFF) were known to possess the strongest antibacterial activity. In this study, DE and PFF were evaluated for antiviral activity against MNV. DE and PFF exhibited strong anti-MNV activity with 50% effective concentration (EC50) of 0.9 μM. However, PFF exhibited more effective antiviral activity against MNV with higher selective index (668.87) than that of DE (550.60), due to its lower cell toxicity against RAW 264.7. This is the first report on the anti-MNV activity of phlorotannins from seaweed. The results obtained in this study suggest that the phlorotannins could be used as a potential source of natural antiviral agents.
