Summerer, Stefan,Bunge, Thomas 한국환경영향평가학회 1993 환경영향평가 Vol.2 No.2
The following contribution deals with the objectives and scopes of the German Act on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and with the procedural implementation of this act. It begins with a presentation of the goal and content of EIA and the scope of its application. It then turns to the procedure of EIA, specially to the five distinct steps by which the EIA is to be carried out under German law. Finally some remarks are made on the role of EIA in the decision-making process and on the further development of EIA since the entry into force of the Act on EIA.
Evidence That Daily Vinegar Ingestion May Contribute to Erosive Tooth Wear in Adults
Summer Anderson,Lisa A. Gonzalez,Paniz Jasbi,Carol S. Johnston 한국식품영양과학회 2021 Journal of medicinal food Vol.24 No.8
Vinegar ingestion at mealtime is gaining popularity for its antiglycemic effects; however, it is among the most acidic consumable substances. This study examined tooth wear in healthy adults participating in an 8-week randomized trial examining the effect of daily vinegar ingestion on insulin sensitivity and visceral fat reduction. Twice daily participants consumed a vinegar drink (two tablespoons vinegar in a cup of water; 3.6 g acetic acid) or a commercial vinegar pill (control, 0.045 g acetic acid) at mealtime. Participants were screened for dental erosion using the basic erosive wear examination (BEWE) by a blinded registered dental hygienist at trial baseline and week 8. Mean BEWE scores did not change in the control group but increased 18% in the vinegar group over the 8-week study (P = .038). Given the current popularity of vinegar as a medicinal agent, practitioners should caution patients who utilize this strategy on the possibility of erosive tooth wear. Trial registration: This trial was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03577834) on July 5, 2018 and the institutional review board at Arizona State University provided ethical approval (STUDY00005418).
Radiation belt electron losses induced by wave-particle interactions
Summers, Danny 한국우주과학회 2009 한국우주과학회보 Vol.18 No.2
We examine cyclotron resonant interactions of radiation belt electrons with VLF chorus, plasmaspheric ELF hiss and electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves. Bounce-averaged diffusion rates depend on wave mode, equatorial pitch-angle, electron energy and
The Impact of Digital Communications on Consumer Perceptions of Sport Celebrity Transgressions
Jane Summers 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2018 Journal of Global Sport Management Vol. No.
Whilst the use of sport celebrities in marketing strategies is growing in popularity it is not without risk. The increasing reliance on scandal by the news media to capture audience attention, has accelerated the interest in sport-celebrity transgressions. This research adopts an netnographic method to analyze over seven thousand comments from online forums about sport celebrity transgressions. We found that consumers were more likely to express negative comments in relation to transgressions that violated moral, ethical and/or legal norms and that this in turn was most likely to effect the perceived role model ability of a sport celebrity. We provide evidence that the communication behavior of sport fans in a digital communication medium extends the life of a transgression in the public domain. Finally, we noted sport fans exhibited higher levels of engagement and willingness to participate in debate in these mediums than observed in other types of online communities.
