A Survey of QoS Based Routing Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks
Sumathi, R.,Srinivas, M.G. Korea Information Processing Society 2012 Journal of information processing systems Vol.8 No.4
With the increasing demand for real time applications in the Wireless Senor Network (WSN), real time critical events anticipate an efficient quality-of-service (QoS) based routing for data delivery from the network infrastructure. Designing such QoS based routing protocol to meet the reliability and delay guarantee of critical events while preserving the energy efficiency is a challenging task. Considerable research has been focused on developing robust energy efficient QoS based routing protocols. In this paper, we present the state of the research by summarizing the work on QoS based routing protocols that has already been published and by highlighting the QoS issues that are being addressed. The performance comparison of QoS based routing protocols such as SAR, MMSPEED, MCMP, MCBR, and EQSR has also been analyzed using ns-2 for various parameters.

In vitiligo, active melanocytes in the epidermis are not present, whereas melanoblast cells in the outer root sheath of hair follicles are not affected. The existence of these inactive melanocytes provides a source for repigmentation of vitiligo. To evaluate the potential of herbal candidates in treatment of vitiligo, we studied the effect of Cassia alata leaf extract on the differentiation, proliferation and migration of melanoblast cells. Melanin content increased in melb-a melanoblast cells in response to this herb extract in a dose-dependent manner compared to control cells. In addition, it induced tyrosinase activity and altered melb-a cell morphology. A transwell migration assay showed the potential of this herbal candidate to induce direct migration of treated cells. To our knowledge, this is the first report on activity of this kind in Cassia alata. The findings of the present study are significant in the direction of developing safer strategies for vitiligo treatment.
Study on behavior of RCC beams with externally bonded FRP members in flexure
Sumathi, A.,Arun Vignesh, S. Techno-Press 2017 Advances in concrete construction Vol.5 No.6
The flexural behavior of Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets has gained much research interest in the flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete beams. The study on flexure includes various parameters like increase in strength of the member due to the externally bonded (EB) Fiber reinforced polymer, crack patterns, debonding of the fiber from the structure, scaling, convenience of using the fibers, cost effectiveness, etc. The present work aims to study experimentally about the reasons behind the failure due to flexure of an externally bonded FRP concrete beam. In the design of FRP-reinforced concrete structures, deflection control is as critical as much as flexural strength. A numerical model is created using Finite element (FEM) software and the results are compared with that of the experiment.

South Asian’s growing obsession with fair skin has made the cosmetic industry into a multibillion-dollar trade over the last decade alone. With reports of toxicity and potential mutagenicity of conventional skin lightening agents, cosmetic industries are looking for plant-based skin whitening formulations. In this review some potential depigmentation agents from South Asian region are discussed, including their historical background, biochemical characteristics and recent findings on their depigmenting activity.
Inhibitory Effect of Bacopa monniera on morphine Induced PharmacologicalEffects in Mice
T. Sumathi,K. Balakrishna,G. Veluchamy,S. Niranjali Devaraj 한국생약학회 2007 Natural Product Sciences Vol.13 No.1
effects of the alcoholic extract of Bacopa monniera (BMA) on morphine-induced pharmaco-logical activities were studied in mice. Oral administration of the extract (40 mg/kg) significantly inhibitedmorphine-induced analgesic tolerance, withdrawal symptoms, hyperactivity, reverse tolerance, Dopamine receptorsupersensitivity and apo-morphine-induced climbing behaviour in mice. The results of this study showed that, alcoholic extract of Bacopa monniera (BMA) exerted inhibitory efect against morphine-induced pharma-cological effects, suggesting that the extract could be useful in the treatment of morphine toxicity.KeywordsBacopa monniera, morphine toxicity, hyperactivity, analgesic tolerance, supersensitivity, climbingbehaviour
Hepatoprotective Activity of Bacopa monniera on D-galactosamine InducedHepatotoxicity in Rats
T. Sumathi,Ramakrishnan 한국생약학회 2007 Natural Product Sciences Vol.13 No.3
action of alcoholic extract of Bacopa monniera (BME) was evaluated on D-galactosamine (D-GalN) induced rat liver toxicity. Bacopa monniera extract reduced the elevated serum enzymeactivities of ALT, AST, ALP, LDH, γ-GT and the formation of hepatic malondialdehyde induced by D-GalN. Thealcholic extract of Bacopa monniera also significantly restored the decreased levels of glutathione and thedecreased activities of glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase, superoxide dismutase, catalase and glucose-6-phosphatase. Therefore these results suggest that Bacopa monniera has hepatoprotective effect against D-GalNinduced hepatotoxicity.KeywordsBacopa monniera, D-galactosamine, Hepatotoxicity.
