만성 심부전 환자에게 새로운 경구용 비 digitalis 강심제인 denopamine 1T(5mg)을 1일 3회 3개월간 투여하여 그 유효성 및 안전성을 검토했다. Background : Patients with congestive heart failure have a high mortality rate and are also hospitalized frequently. We studied the effects of a new oral inotrophic agent, denopamine in patients with chronic heart failure. Methods : 16 patients receiving conventional treatments for heart failure were treat ed with denopamine 5mg tad for at shortest 3 months. Their history were taken and the physical examination, general laboratory test and the echocardiographic examination were done before and after treatment. Results: There were 3 deaths and 1 withdrawal because of worsening heart failure. 5 patients (42%) among 12 patients showed the improvement in their subjective symptoms. The fractional shortening and ejection fraction of the left ventricle were increased by 3.2% and 5.6% respectively in their absolute values. Conclusion : The addition of denopamine to conventional therapy considerably improved the subjective symptoms and the left ventricular function in the limited number of patients with chronic heart failure.

Geotechnical parameters from pressuremeter tests for MRT Blue Line extension in Bangkok
Likitlersuang, Suched,Surarak, Chanaton,Wanatowski, Dariusz,Oh, Erwin,Balasubramaniam, Arumugam Techno-Press 2013 Geomechanics & engineering Vol.5 No.2
Construction of the extension project of the Bangkok MRT Blue Line underground railway was recently started in 2011. The construction of approximately 5 km long underground tunnel and 4 deep excavations of underground station are considered to be the most important geotechnical works. The pressuremeter was selected as a high-quality in situ testing of the soil to evaluate design parameters for the project. In addition, other field and laboratory tests such as vane shear and $CK_0U$ triaxial tests were included in the investigation programme. This paper aims to present the ground conditions encountered along the MRT Blue Line extension project as well as the site investigation and interpretation techniques with particular focus on the pressuremeter tests. The results are also compared with the pressuremeter investigation from the previous Bangkok MRT project.
The Performance of Controlled Low-strength Material Base Supporting a High-volume Asphalt Pavement

A lack of proper base and subbase materials in pavement construction is one of the common problems in the tropical regionworldwide. In many countries such as Thailand, cementitious materials are usually used for ground improvement. Controlled LowstrengthMaterial (CLSM) was considered in this study as a pavement base material. The CLSM mixes were prepared by varyingcement, fly ash and fine aggregate content. Each mixed component was studied for their physical and chemical properties. Aftermixing, properties of the CLSM were investigated based on the standard testing of fresh concrete and cement-treated base material. The flowability, setting time and bleeding were checked to ensure that the CLSM were self-compacting. The mechanical propertiesof hardened CLSM were determined by means of CBR, unconfined compressive strength and resilient modulus tests. The resilientmodulus results were used in the analytical design of flexible pavement with CLSM base. The critical traffic data under high-volumeroad collected by the Thailand Department of Highway was adopted in this study. Results show that the CLSM base considerablyincreased the performance as well as design life of asphalt pavement compared with the conventional crush rock base pavement.
The Results of Curative Radiation Therapy for 49 Patients of the Uterine Cervical Carcinomas
kim, Yeon Sil,Kay, Chul Seung,Suh, Tae Such,Yoon, Sei Chul,Ryu, Mi Ryeong,Kang, Ki Mun,Jang, Hong Seok,Shin, Kyung Sub CATHOLIC MEDICAL CENTER 1994 Bulletin of the Clinical Research Institute Vol.22 No.2
Fifty patients with carcinoma of the uterine cervix received curative radiotherapy by external irradiation of the whole pelvis and intracavitary radiation at the Department of Therapeutic Radiology, Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital from September,1983 to October, 1986. External beam whole pelvic irradiation was done first up to 4500∼5940 cGy in 5 weeks to 6.5 weeks, followed by an intracavitary radiation. Total dose of radiation to point A varied from 6500 cGy to l1344 cGy (average 8764 cGy). Of the 50 patients, one patient was lost to follow up and follow up period of the remaining 49 patients ranges from 3 months to 93 months (median 32 months). Overall response rate was 84%.5-year survival rate was 49% for entire group(75% for stage Ib, 83% for stage Ⅱa, 42.5% for stage Ⅱb, 25% for stage Ⅲ, 40% for stage Ⅳ). Complications were observed in 11 (22.4%) patients, who revealed rectal complications with most common frequency. Others were self limiting trifle ones such as wet desquamation, fatigue, mild leukopenia, etc. The correlation of the survival rate with various factors (age, dose, Hb level, pelvic lymph node status, performance status, local recurrence) was evaluated but showed no statistical significance except the age and local recurrence in this series; survival of patients less than 50 years of age was worse than that of the older, and the presence of local recurrence had worse prognosis (P<0.05).
