<P> <I>Streptomyces</I> is a widely studied bacterial genus, particularly with regard to secondary metabolites and antibiotics production. <I>Streptomyces griseus</I> S4-7 was isolated from a strawberry Fusarium wilt disease suppressive soil, and its biological control ability has been well established. However, the antifungal mechanism of strain S4-7 is not yet fully understood at the molecular and biochemical level. Therefore, in this study we created a random mutant library for strain S4-7 with the Tn5 transposon element to investigate antifungal traits on a genome-wide scale. In total 4646 individual mutant strains were created and 13 mutants were selected based on loss of antifungal activity. The knockout genes were identified as electron transfer oxidoreductase (eto),sigma factor-70(sig70) and nrps by Inverse PCR (I-PCR). eto regulates the <I>geranylgeranyl</I> reductase gene, which is involved in terpenoid-quinone biosynthesis, an important factor in cell fitness. In the <I>△eto</I> strain, expression of <I>wbl,</I> a master regulator of the production of secondary metabolites, was significantly reduced. sig70 is responsible for the cell differentiation sensing mechanism in genus <I>Streptomyces. △nrps</I> showed decreased production of hybrid peptide-polyketide siderophores. These results suggest that <I>S. griseus</I> S4-7 may have various antifungal mechanisms, and each mechanism is essential to maximal antifungal activity. <P>
Antitumor activity of spinasterol isolated from Pueraria roots

We purified phytoestrogens from Pueraria root (Pueraria mirifica from Thailand and Pueraria lobata from Korea), which is used as a rejuvenat-ing folk medicine in Thailand and China. Dried, powdered plant material was extracted with 100% ethanol and further separated by concentration, filtration, and thin layer silica gel chromatogra-phy. Using the fractions obtained during separa-tion, we first investigated their cytotoxicity in se-veral cancer cel lines from various tissues. The ethanol-extracted components (PE1, PE4) had sig-nificant antiproliferative efects on breast cancer cel lines, including MCF-7, ZR-75-1, MDA-MB-231, SK-BR-3, and Hs578T. Second, we compared flavonoids, sterols, and coumarins from Pueraria root. The known compounds were not as efec-tive, and occured in a diferent polarity region on HPLC. Third, further separation resulted in the isolation of eight diferent components (Sub PE-A to -H). One of these, PE-D, affected the growth of some breast cancer cel lines (MCF-7, MDA- MB-231) in a dose- and time-dependent maner, as wel as the growth of ovarian (2774) and cervical cancer cels (HeLa). Finaly, a transfec-tion assay showed that this component had an estrogenic effect similar to 17βactivates both estrogen receptor α (ERα) and ERβ. The NMR analysis determined that spin-asterol (stigmasta-7, 22-dien-3beta-ol) is an active cytotoxic component of Pueraria root.

A new series of dioxo-di-μ-oxo-dimolybdate(v), ◁화학식 삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요), has been prepared by reaction of pyridinum oxoisothiooyantomolybdate(v) with citric acid derivatives containing amine carboxyl groups. The properties and possible molecular structure of these complexes were discussed by elemental analysis, spectroscopic studies and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The infrared spectra of these complexes all show two strong Mo=O2 stretching bands in the 900~980cm-1, MoO2Mo very prominent strectching bands at around 410~425 and 735~750cm^(-1) to symmetrical and asymmetrical O-bridge stretching, a coordinated coo^(-) asymmetrical band in the 1585~1640cm^(-1). Also, d-d transition of molybdenyl complexes corresponding to ^(2)B_(2)-^(2)B_(1) occured in the 24,800~28,000cm^(-1) region, charge transfer transition corresponding to ligand-to-molybdenum in the 32,500~33,800, 42,000 ~47,500cm^(-1) region. The complexes synthesized were yellow or orange and diamagnetic.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine correlation between the spinopelvic parameters in sitting and standing positions (sacral slope [SS], lumbar lordosis [LL], spinopelvic tilt [SPT], pelvic incidence [PI], and pelvic femoral angle [PFA]), with hip function assessed using the modified Harris hip scores (mHHs) in patients with symptomatic femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) at diagnosis. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study of 52 patients diagnosed with symptomatic FAI was conducted. Evaluation of the spinopelvic complex in terms of SS, LL, SPT, PI and PFA was performed using lateral radiographs of the pelvis and lumbosacral spine in standing and sitting positions. Assessment of hip function at diagnosis was performed using the mHHs. Calculation of spinopelvic mobility was based on the difference (Δ) between measurements performed in standing and sitting position. Results: The median time of pain evolution was 11 months (interquartile range [IQR], 5-24 months) with a median mHHs of 66.0 points (IQR, 46.0-73.0) at diagnosis. The mean change of LL, SS, SPT, and PFA was 20.9±11.2。, 14.2±8.6。, 15.5±9.0。, and 70.7±9.5。, respectively. No statistically significant correlation was observed between spinopelvic parameters and the mHHs (P>0.05). Conclusion: Radiological parameters of the spinopelvic complex did not show correlation with hip function at the time of diagnosis in patients with symptomatic FAI. Conduct of further studies will be required in the effort to understand the effect of the spinopelvic complex and its compensatory mechanics, primarily between the hip and spine, in patients with FAI before and after hip arthroscopy.

IEC6l850 기반의 변전소 자동화 시스템에서 사용하는 IED를 국내의 여러 업체에서 개발하고 있다. 하지만 개발된 IED를 IEC6l850 국제 표준에 맞게 개발했는지 시험하는 적합성 검사는 외국의 인중업체에 의해서만 진행되고 있다. 그렇기 때문에 국내에서도 IED의 적합성 검사를 해줄 수 있는 방법이 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 IEC6l850-l0에서 제시하고 있는 ACSI 모델의 매핑과 서비스 시험 사례에 대한 검사를 수행하고 UCA IUG(International Users Group)에서 제시하는 적합성 검사 진행 방법에 따라 검사를 수행할 수 있는 적합성 검사 프로그램의 프로토타입을 구현하고 이를 소개한다.

IEC61850은 변전소 자동화 시스템에 관한 국제 표준이다. IEC61850-10에서는 시스템을 구성하고 있는 각 기기들이 IEC61850 국제표준을 준수하고 기기들간의 상호운영성을 입증하기 위해 적합성 검사를 정의한다. 하지만 IEC61850-10에서 기술된 내용은 무엇을 검사할 것인지에 대해 추상적 방식으로 서술하고 있고 어떻게 검사하는지에 대해 구체적 방법의 제시는 부족하다. 이에 대해 UCA IUG(International Users Group)는 품질 보증 프로그램(QAP)을 운영한다. QAP는 IEC61850에 따른 검사절차에 대해 명시할 뿐만 아니라 그룹에 참여한 모든 사람들에게 이득을 가져다준다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 QAP에 대해 소개한다.
