The aim of the present study was to investigate the efficacy of a mixed gel formulation composed of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and gellan gum (Na-CMC gel) for the prevention of adhesions after laminectomv. The anti-adhesive effect of the Na-CMC gel was tested in a controlled randomized study using an animal model of lumbar laminectomv. The animals (60 female Sprague-Dawlev rats) were randomly allocated into two treatment groups to receive the Na-CMC gel on the injured area or no gel (control). The incidence of adhesions and their grade were blindly evaluated at 4. 8 and 12 weeks after surgery. The amount of scar tissue and tenacity were grossly reduced by the Na-CMC gel at postoperative 4. 8. and 12 weeks. The mean adhesion scores were 0.75. 125. and 1.38 at 4. 8. and 12 weeks in the gel-treated group. respectively. No significant inflammatory reaction was observed and the healing of wound was not affected by the Na-CMC gel. The Na-CMC gel reduced the amount of scar formation and tenacity in rat laminectomv model without affecting the healing of operation wound and other complications. Therefore. the Na-CMC gel may be the potential to prevent postsurgical adhesions in clinical state.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two levosulpiride tablets, Levopride (SK Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and Revocel (Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty four healthy male volunteers, 23.7±1.8 year in age and 66.8±7.6 kg in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized 2×2 cross-over study was employed. After three tablets containing 75 mg of levosulpiride were orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of levosulpiride in plasma were determined using HPLC with fluorescence detector. The dissolution profiles of two levosulpiride tablets were not significantly different at all dissolution media. Pharmacokinetic parameters such as AUC_(t), C_(max) and T_(max) were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed AUC_(t), and C_(max). The results showed that the differences between two formulations were 2.59%, -2.04% and 8.94% for AUC_(t), C_(max) and T_(max), respectively. There were no sequence effects between two formulations in these parameters. The 90% confidence intervals using logarithmically transformed data were within the acceptance range of log0.8 to log1.25 (e.g., log0.95~log1.13 and log0.91~log1.06 for AUC_(t) and C_(max)). Thus, the criteria of the KFDA guidelines for the bioequivalence was satisfied, indicating Levopride tablet and Revocel tablet are bioequivalent.

Beads loaded with the water-soluble drug, phenylpropanolamine HCl (PPA), were prepared using an extruder and double arm counter-rotating roller modified from a traditional pill machine. The mean diameter of the cylindrical rod-like extrudate from the ram extruder was 3 mm; that of the uncoated bead after cutting and spheronization by the modified double arm counter-rotating roller was 3.26~3.28 mm. Although the surface of the beads was moderately rough and irregular, some exhibited hump-shaped protrusions, the sphericity was acceptable (roundness 1.15) and adequate for the subsequent coating process. An increase in mean diameter of the coated beads and improvements in friability and sphericity were observed in proportion to the amount of coating material applied (ethylcellulose or Eudragit?? RS 100). It was also found that the release rate of PPA from the coated beads could be controlled by the amount and type of coating materials applied or with the incorporation of Eudragit ?? RS 100 into the core matrix. Further modifications to the double arm counter-rotating roller, including adjustment of the rotation speed and distance between the rollers, would yield smaller uncoated beads with improved roundness and surface roughness. In conclusion , the present method could be potentially applied to prepare controlled release drug delivery beads or pellet dosage forms.

The objective of this study was to elucidate the feasibility to improve the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble itraconazole via solid dispersions by using supercritical fluid (SCF). Solid dispersions of itraconazole with hydrophilic polymer, HPMC 2910, were prepared by the aerosol solvent extraction system (ASES) under different process conditions of temperature/pressure. The particle size of solid dispersions ranged from 100 to 500 nm. The equilibrium solubility increased with decrease (15 to 10 MPa) in pressure and increase (40 to $60^{\circ}C$) in temperature. The solid dispersions prepared at $60^{\circ}C$/15 MPa showed a slight increase in equilibrium solubility (approximately 27-fold increase) when compared to pure itraconazole, while those prepared at $60^{\circ}C$/10MPa showed approximately 610-fold increase and no endothermic peaks corresponding to pure itraconazole were observed, indicating that itraconazole might be molecularly dispersed in HPMC 2910 in the amorphous form. The amorphous state of itraconazole was confirmed by DSC/XRD data. The pharmacokinetic parameters of the ASES-processed solid dispersions, such as $T_{max},\;C_{max},\;and\;AUC_{0-24h}$ were almost similar to $Sporanox_{\circledR}$ capsule which shows high bioavailability. Hence, it was concluded that the ASES process could be a promising technique to reduce particle size and/or prepare amorphous solid dispersion of drugs in order to improve the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs.

This study was to investigate whether travelers` motivations had a significant effect on their attitudes with a focus on behavioral process of the customers who purchased travel products, and whether these attitudes had a significant influence on travelers` satisfaction again. It was to grasp which motivations had a positive attitude on travel products and which variables affected their satisfaction, to explore measures that could improve a positive attitude and their satisfaction on travel products. Empirical analysis results based on the purpose of this study were as follows: Push motivation of purchase motivations for travel products was composed of four factors such as escape, novelty, friendship promotion, self-realization, and three factors of escape, novelty and self-realization of them had a significant effect on affective attitude and cognitive attitude, and four factors affected behavioral attitude. Pull motivation was analyzed as three factors of service attractiveness, regional attractiveness, convenience, these has a significant influence on behavioral attitude and cognitive attitude, two factors of regional attractiveness and convenience had an effect on affective attitude. With regard to these attitudes on travel products, behavioral attitude, cognitive attitude, affective attitude appeared to affect their satisfaction in the order, and the satisfaction of the travelers showed to affect repurchase intention of travel products. In other words, travelers seek for travel information actively, as they think travel the opportunity to recharge, their satisfaction increases, and motivations like travelers` novelty, escape and regional attractiveness stimulate travelers through marketing activities focused on travel products to provide joy away from everyday life, new cultures and spectacles, and their motivations should have a positive effect on positive attitude formation and active purchase behavior. commitment.

In this paper, a novel scheme for the estimation of the equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the dc-link electrolytic capacitor in three-phase ac/dc pulsewidth-modulation converters is proposed for condition monitoring. First, a controlled ac current component is injected into the input. Then, it induces ac voltage ripples on the dc output. By manipulating these ac voltage and current components with digital filters, the value of the ESR can be calculated, where the recursive least squares algorithm is used for reliable estimation results. In addition, the value of the ESR is corrected by considering the temperature effect, for which a simple temperature-sensing circuit has been designed. The simulation and experimental results show that the estimation error of the ESR is within a reasonable range, thereby enabling the determination of the appropriate time for the replacement of the capacitor.
