      • A Novel Objective Quality Assessment for Super-Resolution Images

        A novel objective quality assessment method is proposed for super-resolution images in this manuscript. We not only estimate the preserved information of each spatial location in the super-resolution image by structural similarity, but also compute the local phase coherence (LPC) with which we can detect the image blur in the super-resolution image. After the preserved structural information and blur information is obtained, an overall evaluation of visual quality of the super-resolution image can be computed. Experimental results show that the proposed objective quality assessment method can be used in the real applications with the original high-resolution images unavailable.

        Li Dou who wrote Records of Yang Zhou Boat Painted, is a famous dramatist, poet and scholar. He was very learned and versatile, good at writing poem and prose, having a good command of sound and mathematics. He is bold and unconstrained, liking to visit mountains and rivers, and making friends with personage and merchant prince such as Ruan Yuan, Yuan Mei, Jiao Xun, Huang Wen-yang, Wang Zhong, Ling Ting-kan, Jin Zhao-yan, Huang Jing-ren, Wei Pei-jin, Huang Cheng-ji, Jiang Chun and so on. He attended lots of entertainment party. His writing is abundant. He took on the task of editting chiefly records of salt law of HUI RIVER’s drainage arer, wrote eight volumes of Poem Collection of Yongbaotang,two volumes of Poem Collection of Fangfengguan, eighteen volumes of Records of Yang Zhou Boat Painted, one volume of Aitangyuefu, two volumes of Suixingji Chuanqi, four volumes of Qisuan Chuanqi and so on. Li Dou was a common people without official rank and honour, so it is difficult that we study Li Dou’s life, his dramas and Records of Yang Zhou Boat Painted. This paper is to verify the later years of his life, correct the mistakes of the former study about his life and definitude the main experience of his association and writing.

        An I-V Circuit with Combined Compensation for Infrared Receiver Chip

        This paper proposes a novel combined compensation structure in the infrared receiver chip. For the infrared communication chip, the current-voltage (I-V) convert circuit is crucial and important. The circuit is composed by the transimpedance amplifier (TIA) and the combined compensation structures. The TIA converts the incited photons into photocurrent. In order to amplify the photocurrent and avoid the saturation, the TIA uses the combined compensation circuit. This novel compensation structure has the low frequency compensation and high frequency compensation circuit. The low frequency compensation circuit rejects the low frequency photocurrent in the ambient light preventing the saturation. The high frequency compensation circuit raises the high frequency input impedance preserving the sensitivity to the signal of interest. This circuit was implemented in a 0.6μm BiCMOS process. Simulation of the proposed circuit is carried out in the Cadence software, with the 3V power supply, it achieves a low frequency photocurrent rejection and the gain keeps 109dB ranging from 10nA to 300μA. The test result fits the simulation and all the results exploit the validity of the circuit.

        Reduction of Target Volume and the Corresponding Dose for the Tumor Regression Field after Induction Chemotherapy in Locoregionally Advanced Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

        Purpose This study aims to investigate the feasibility of contouring target volume according to residual tumor and decreasing the dose to the tumor regression field after induction chemotherapy (IC) in locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Materials and Methods From August 2009 to August 2013, patients with stage III–IVB NPC were treated with IC and concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Gross tumor volume of nasopharynx (GTVnx)–residual and gross tumor volume of cervical lymph node (GTVnd)–residual were contoured according to post-IC residual primary tumor and any N+ disease, respectively. The tumor regression field was included in CTVnx1/CTVnd1 and prescribed a dose of 60 Gy. Outcomes and toxicities of all patients were evaluated. Results A total of 57 patients were enrolled. At a median follow-up of 68 months, three cases displayed locoregional recurrence and one case showed both distant metastasis and locoregional recurrence. All locoregional recurrences were in the GTVnx-residual/GTVnd-residual and in-field. The 5-year overall, locoregional relapse-free, distant metastasis-free, and progression- free survival rates were 82.2%, 87.7%, 85.8% and 80.3%, respectively. Conclusion After IC, contouring of GTVnx-residual/GTVnd-residual as residual tumor volume and distribution 60 Gy of radiation dose to the tumor regression field may be feasible and need further investigation.

      • A Key Frame Extraction Algorithm Based on Clustering and Compressive Sensing

        Key frame extraction is considered as one of the most critical issues in content-based video retrieval technology (CBVR). In this paper, an efficient key frame extraction algorithm based on unsupervised clustering and compressive sensing is proposed. Firstly, three types of filters with various scales are employed to generate high dimensional feature of each frame in one shot, which will be projected to low dimensional feature by a very sparse random projection matrix that satisfies the condition of Restricted Isometry Property (RIP), and then sub-shot segmentation is conducted by an unsupervised clustering method in order to divide one shot into sub-shot collections, in which each class of clustering represents one sub-shot. Finally, the Bhattacharyya coefficient is used to measure the similarity between frame and class center, the frame with the maximum similarity value is selected as the key frame in each sub-shot. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method could extract key frames efficiently and properly.

        A green and direct synthesis of photosensitized CoS2–graphene/TiO2 hybrid with high photocatalytic performance

        CoS2, CoS2–graphene and CoS2–graphene/TiO2 composite was synthesized by a facile sonochemical andhydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-rayanalysis, transmission electron microscopy, FT-IR, UV–vis and BET surface area was calculated bynitrogen adsorption were used. The FT-IR results illuminated that CoS2 and TiO2 band transfers electronsto graphene with functional groups attached. UV–vis patterns indicated that CoS2–graphene/TiO2 havegood photoinduction effects in visible light region. The photocatalytic activity of sample was evaluatedby measuring the degradation of organic pollutants such as methylene blue (MB), and industrial dyessuch as Texbrite BA-L (TBA) under visible light.

        Comparative study on the Lower Silurian Longmaxi marine shale in the Jiaoshiba shale gas field and the Pengshui area in the southeast Sichuan Basin, China

        The Jiaoshiba shale gas field and Pengshui area are both located in the southeast Sichuan Basin with only 100 km apart. Although these two areas obtained shale gas flow from the Lower Silurian Longmaxi marine shale, there is a huge difference of production in these two areas where the Jiaoshiba shale gas field is more productive than the Pengshui area. In order to figure out the reason that caused this difference, this study analyzed the Longmaxi marine shale in these two areas by using drilling cores, and mineralogical and geochemical data. The results show that the Jiaoshiba shale gas field has a higher quality shale reservoir (higher content of quartz, higher porosity, higher permeability and higher TOC (Total Organic Carbon)) in the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation than that of the Pengshui area. The Lower Silurian Longmaxi marine shale in the Jiaoshiba shale gas field contains a higher total gas content (3.65 m3/ton in average) than that of the Pengshui area (1.19 m3/ton in average). Through structure analysis, this study found that the Jiaoshiba shale gas field and the Pengshui area located in the different tectonic units. The Jiaoshiba shale gas filed is located in the East Sichuan fold belt (wide spaced anticlines area) at the west side of the Qiyue mountain fault where less fractures are developed and the pressure coefficient is more than 1.5, resulting in much more free gas preserved in the shale reservoirs in the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation (the ratio of free gas content and absorbed gas content is 1.6), while the Pengshui area is located in the Hunan-Hubei-Guizhou thrust belt area at the east side of the Qiyue mountain fault where much more fractures are developed and the pressure coefficient is less than 1.0, leading to less free gas preserved in the Longmaxi marine shale (the ratio of free gas content and absorbed gas content is 0.6), that is why the shale reservoir in the Pengshui area has a lower total gas content than that in the Jiaoshiba shale gas field.

        Easy and Fast Synthesis of Pd-MWCNT/TiO2 by the Sol-Gel Method and its Recyclic Photodegradation of Rhodamine B

        Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) modified with Pd and TiO2 composite catalysts were synthesized by the sol-gel method followed by solvothermal treatment at low temperature. The chemical composition and surface structure were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Photocatalytic recycle degradation experiments were carried out under both UV and visible light irradiation in the presence of MWCNT/TiO2 and Pd-MWCNT/TiO2 composites. As expected, the nanosized Pd-MWCNT/TiO2photocatalysts had enhanced activity over the non Pd treated MWCNT/TiO2 material in the degradation of a rhodamine B (Rh.B)solution. An increase in photocatalytic activity was observed and attributed to an increase in the photo-absorption effect by MWCNTs and the cooperative effect of Pd and TiO2 nanoparticles. According to the recycled results, the as-prepared Pd-MWCNT/TiO2 sample had a good effect on it.

        Mouse Fyn induces pseudopodium formation in Chinese hamster ovary cells

        Molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of Fyn on cellmorphology, pseudopodium movement, and cell migrationwere investigated. The Fyn gene was subcloned into pEGFP-N1to produce pEGFP-N1-Fyn. Chinese hamster ovary (CHO)cells were transfected with pEGFP-N1-Fyn. The expression ofFyn mRNA and proteins was monitored by reversetranscription-PCR and Western blotting. Additionally,transfected cells were stained with 4´,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole and a series of time-lapse images was taken. Sequences of the recombinant plasmids pMD18-T-Fyn andpEGFP-N1-Fyn were confirmed by sequence identificationusing National Center for Biotechnology Information in USA,and Fyn expression was detected by RT-PCR and Westernblotting. The morphology of CHO cells transfected with therecombinant vector was significantly altered. Fyn expressioninduced filopodia and lamellipodia formation. Based on theseresults, we concluded that overexpression of mouse Fyn inducesthe formation of filopodia and lamellipodia in CHO cells, andpromotes cell movement.
