In this paper, white light emitting diodes (LEDs) with good color rendering indices (CRI) and high luminous efficiencies have been fabricated by the encapsulation of mixed and double-deck phosphors. Experimental results revealed that white LEDs with the encapsulation of double-deck phosphors exhibited better CRI and higher luminous efficiencies than those with the encapsulation of mixed phosphors because no secondary excitation took place. The hue, CRI, and luminous efficiencies of white LEDs with double-deck phosphors under 200 mA were CIEx,y =(0.357, 0.348), 90, and 62.3 lm/W,respectively while the hue, CRI, and luminous efficiencies of white LEDs with mixed phosphors under 200 mA were CIEx,y = (0.366, 0.354), 89, and 56.5 lm/W, respectively.
Development of microwave induced hydrodesulfurization of petroleum streams: A review
Hui Shang,Wei Du,Zhichang Liu,Haichao Zhang 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.4
This paper provides a general overview of microwave applications in hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of various petroleum streams. Deep desulfurization is required for petroleum streams due to stringent sulfur specifications to meet environmental norms. The progress achieved during recent years in catalyst-based HDS technologies is illustrated by using microwaves due to its unique selective and volumetric heating capacity. Based on literature reports, it may be concluded that microwave assisted desulfurization of petroleum streams can be successfully performed under less severe conditions, with significant advantages. This is expected to result in savings in utilities, catalyst consumption, eventually leading to increased fuel yields.

Shang-Song Bao,Hui-Hui Liu,Xue-Qing Zhang,Cheng-Xiong Liu,Xiao-Cong Li,Zhi-Yong Guo 한국생약학회 2019 Natural Product Sciences Vol.25 No.3
Five secondary metabolites, including a new isopimarane derivative xylaroisopimaranin A (1), were isolated from the endophytic fungus Xylaralyce sp. (HM-1), and their structures were elucidated by 1D, 2D NMR, MS and CD spectra. Their bioactivities were performed to antibacterial, Hep G2 cells cytotoxicity and brine shrimp inhibition. The biological evaluation results showed that the xylaroisopimaranin A (1), xylabisboein B (2), griseofulvin (3) , 5-methylmellein (4) and mellein-5-carboxlic acid (5) displayed no significant Hep G2 cells cytotoxicity and antibacterial acitivity, but they inhibited the brine shrimp with IC50 from 0.5 to 25 μmol/mL.

Treatment of Pb-Zn smelter wastewater via complexation-ultrafiltration (C-UF) was studied using copolymer of acrylic acid-maleic acid (PMA) as complexant. The complexing reaction kinetics of M (Cd(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II)) with PMA were examined for the first time and the pseudo-first-order model could be employed to simulate the reaction. The effects of the mass ratio of PMA to metal ions (P/M) and pH on the simultaneous removal of Cd(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) via C-UF were investigated, and the optimized P/M and pH are 10 and 7.0, respectively. Furthermore, the shear stability of PMA-Cd, PMA-Zn and PMA-Pb complexes was investigated, and the corresponding critical shear rates (c), the smallest shear rate at which the complexes begin to dissociate were 1.98×105, 1.81×104 and 1.38×105 s1, respectively. The selective recovery of Cd(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) from Pb-Zn Smelter wastewater as well as the regeneration of PMA were fulfilled by shear induced dissociation coupled with ultrafiltration (SID-UF) according to the difference of critical shear rates of PMA-M complexes, and the regenerated PMA showed almost the same complexation ability as the original.
Asynchronous H∞ Control for Positive Discrete-time Markovian Jump Systems
Hui Shang,Wenhai Qi,Guang-Deng Zong 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.2
This paper deals with the asynchronous H∞ control for discrete-time positive Markovian jump systems (PMJSs). In previous results about PMJSs, asynchronous behaviors are always overlooked and the designed controller is based on the synchronization between the system modes and controller modes. Sufficient conditions for stochastic stability are proposed by the use of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. The asynchronous controller is designed to ensure the closed-loop system stochastically stable with a prescribed H∞ performance index. All the conditions are given in linear matrix inequality framework. Finally, a pest’s age-structured population dynamic model is illustrated to show the validity of the present design.
Development of microwave assisted oxidative desulfurization of petroleum oils: A review
Hui Shang,Zhichang Liu,Haichao Zhang,Wei Du 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.5
This paper provides a general overview of microwave applications in petroleum oxidative desulfurization (ODS). It was concluded that, as compared with conventional heating technologies, milder reaction conditions could be used and higher ODS rate could be achieved under microwave treatment. It was also found that microwave power level, treatment time, temperature, oxidizing agent dosage, microwave equipment and catalyst are the key operating factors influencing the ODS efficiency. A best removal rate of 96% achieved for diesel. The main challenges are developing high efficiency, novel techniques and apparatuses to remove sulfur from oils in a commercial process.

The main process for industrial synthesis of hydrogen peroxide is to subject 2-ethylanthraquinone to cyclic hydrogenation and oxidation. Hydrogenation catalyst is one of the key techniques of anthraquinone route. A new egg-shell palladium catalyst with racshig-ring alumina supported was developed for meeting the mechanism and improving mass transformation based on the kinetics and mass transfer theory, the effects of materials feeding methods together with operating conditions on the hydrogenation efficiency were detailed. It was concluded that the egg-shell palladium catalyst developed by this research has higher hydrogenation efficiency than the commercial contrast catalysts.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy as well as long-term clinical outcomes of superselective microcoil embolization for lower gastrointestinal bleeding (LGIB). Materials and Methods: Between 1997 and 2009, 26 patients with intended transcatheter embolotherapy for LGIB were retrospectively reviewed. Embolization was performed only when the catheter could be advanced to or distal to the mesenteric border of the bowel. The main purpose of our study was to assess technical success, recurrent bleeding rate and complications. We also evaluated the long-term clinical outcome, including late recurrent LGIB, bowel ischemia and the survival rate. Results: Twenty-two bleeding sources were in the territory of superior mesenteric artery and four in the inferior mesenteric artery. Technical success was achieved in 22 patients (84.6%). The target vessel of embolization was vasa recta in seventeen patients and marginal artery in the remaining five patients. Early rebleeding occurred in two patients (7.7%) and bowel ischemia in two patients, of whom the embolized points were both at the marginal artery. Delayed recurrent bleeding (> 30 days) occurred in two angiodysplasia patients. Five patients (19.2%) died within the first 30 days of intervention. Long-term follow-up depicted estimated survival rates of 58.2 and 43.1% after one, and five years, respectively. Conclusion: Transcatheter embolotherapy to treat LGIB is effective with low rebleeding and ischemic complications. Considering the advanced age and complex medical problems of these patients, the minimal invasive embolotherapy may be used as both a primary and potentially definitive treatment of LGIB.

The Wnt signaling pathway is well known to play major roles in skeletal development and homeostasis. In certain aspects, fracture repair mimics the process of bone embryonic development. Thus, the importance of Wnt signaling in fracture healing has become more apparent in recent years. Here, we summarize recent research progress in the area, which may be conducive to the development of Wnt-based therapeutic strategies for bone repair.

Cisplatin is a widely used anticancer drug that has adverse effects on gastrointestinal function. Curcumin is a natural polyphenol extracted from the rhizome of turmeric that has a wide range of biological activities. The present study investigated the effects of cisplatin on gastric emptying in mice and examined whether these can be inhibited by curcumin. We found that pretreatment with curcumin (200 mg/kg/day) for 10–30 days partly inhibited the decreases in gastric emptying rate and body weight induced by cisplatin. Furthermore, cisplatin reduced acetylcholine (ACh) concentration and the messenger RNA (mRNA) level of ACh receptor (AChR) as well as acetylcholinesterase activity in the stomach of mice; caused ultrastructural damage to interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC); and altered the expression of c-kit/stem cell factor and the gap junction protein connexin 43 in ICC. Curcumin pretreatment inhibited the effects of cisplatin on ACh indicators and ICC. These results demonstrate that curcumin can protect against cisplatin-induced gastric emptying disorder and thus has therapeutic potential for alleviating this condition in cancer patients receiving cisplatin chemotherapy.
