The Effects of Personality on the Performance of Employee
Sevcan YILDIZ,Cem Oktay GÜ,ZELLER 한국문화관광학회 2011 문화관광연구 Vol.13 No.2
In this study, the effects of personality on the performance of employee have been examined. 282 people, working in the 5 star hotel managements in Alanya form the work group of the research. Cattel’s 16 PF (16 Personality Factors) Personality Inventory and performance rating scale improved by Güzeller, Yıldız and Üngüren (2009) has been used. Personality sub-dimensions have been accepted as independent variables and performance rating scale sub-dimensions have been accepted as dependent variables and canonical correlations between the dependent and independent variables have been calculated. According to the obtained canonical correlations, only one canonical correlation has been found important between the independent variable and dependent variable. The increase in the personality test scores explains the performance scores in a limited level. It can be said that the increase of sa,sh, sl, sq1, sl in the set of personality variables caused the increase of the points of messor in the sub-set of the test variables.
How Does Cinema Reflect Traumatic Memory? : A Study on Turkish Cinema and Trauma Films
Sevcan Sonmez(세브칸 손메즈) 동국대학교 영상미디어센터 2012 씨네포럼 Vol.0 No.14
Collective memory is a significant concept and debating issue of recent years. The countries that have sorrowful past and wrongdoings in political and social aspect, try to confront with these realities. Remembering these traumatic experiences is a hard and irritating but also important work, because, giving voice to traumatic past and recognizing it as part of history is a necessary step in escaping from patterns of suffering. For recovering, trauma should emerge, should be spoken and criticized. Traumatic memory and its representation through cinematographic narration give some clues about community. Turkey has many traumatic realities like; military coups, tortures, unsolved murders, ethnic conflicts and forced migration. Cinema helps society in remembering and curing the traumatic memories by representing them. Therefore, this study aims to show different representations of traumatic memories in last ten years of Turkish cinema. Exploring this will reveal “How Turkish society show up its own social memory and bad happenings of the past?” From this perspective research sample films are Gune?e Yolculuk, Sonbahar, Yazı Tura, Eve Donu? and Guz Sancısı.

Objective: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairment in social skills and communication with repetitive behaviors. Etiology is still unclear although it is thought to develop with interaction of genes and environmental factors. Oxytocin has extensive effects on intrauterine brain development. Vitamin D, affects neural development and differentiation and contributes to the regulation of around 900 genes including oxytocin receptor gene. In the present study, the contribution of D vitamin receptor and oxytocin receptor gene polymorphisms in the development of ASD in Turkish community was investigated. To our knowledge, this is the first study examining these two associated genes together in the literature. Methods: Eighty-five patients diagnosed with ASD according to DSM-5 who were referred to outpatient clinics of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of Başkent University and Mersin University and 52 healthy, age and gender-matched controls were included in the present study. Vitamin D receptor gene rs731236 (Taq1), rs2228570 (Fok1), rs1544410 (Bsm1), rs7975232 (Apa1) polymorphisms and oxytocin receptor gene rs1042778 and rs2268493 polymorphisms were investigated using real time polymerase chain reaction method. Results: No significant difference between groups in terms of distribution of genotype and alleles in each of polymorphisms for these genes could be found. Conclusion: Knowledge of genes and polymorphisms associated with the development of ASD may be beneficial for early diagnosis and future treatment. Further studies with larger populations are required to demonstrate molecular pathways which may play part in the development of ASD in Turkey.
Ancient Towns of Antalya in the Scope of Culturel Tourism
Sevcan YILDIZ,Yusuf YILMAZ 세계문화관광학회 2007 Conference Proceedings Vol.8 No.0
Our country's, quite wealthy regarding touristic supply capacity, being able to increase its share it took from tourism market depends on its being able to benefit from these sources effectively. To realize this, the changings lived in the world tourism market have been compelling in making changes in touristic product policies, in other word in applying to touristic product variation. It is seen that culture tourism, which is evaluated in the scope of touristic product variation, becomes in the eyesight in the parallelism of education level increasing at last years. Turkey and in this scope Antalya city are important culture centers concerning culturel values they have. The study includes the introduction of Antalya city's ancient towns in the scope of culture tourism. Antalya's culture tourism sources have been examined by taking scenes from leading ancient towns.

Objective: Risperidone has been widely used to control aggression and conduct disorder (CD) in youth; however, treatment compliance is a major problem in CD. Our aim is to evaluate the effectiveness and tolerability of long-acting risperidone (LAR) in treating nonadherent cases. Methods: The medical records of children and adolescents who had CD and were nonadherent to conventional drugs and psychosocial interventions (and therefore taking LAR) were reviewed. Informed consent on offlabel use of LAR was obtained from the parents. Clinical Global Impression (CGI) Severity (CGI-S) and CGI-Improvement scales were used and baseline and end points were compared. Results: The study comprised 14 children and adolescents (5 girls, 9 boys). All had comorbid disorders: substance use disorder (n=8), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (n=6), and major depression (n=2). Mean duration of LAR use was 3.1 months (1.5-8 months). We observed significant improvements in the baseline and endpoint CGI-S scores for CD in all but one patient (Z=−3.198; p <0.001). Only mild adverse effects were observed: weight gain (n=2), sedation (n=1), leg cramps (n=1), and increased appetite with no weight gain (n=1). Conclusion: LAR is effective and tolerable for patients with CD who can’t be medicated with oral preparations due to nonadherence to treatment. Even short-term LAR use is effective to get compliance. As CD predicts numerous problems in adulthood, appropriate treatment is crucial. To our knowledge, this is the first study on LAR use in youth with CD. The use of LAR deserves careful consideration and further controlled studies are needed to confirm our findings.

NEW BOUNDS FOR FUNDAMENTAL UNITS AND CLASS NUMBERS OF REAL QUADRATIC FIELDS
Isikay, Sevcan,Pekin, Ayten Korean Mathematical Society 2021 대한수학회보 Vol.58 No.5
In this paper, we present new bounds on the fundamental units of real quadratic fields ${\mathbb{Q}}({\sqrt{d}})$ using the continued fraction expansion of the integral basis element of the field. Furthermore, we apply these bounds to Dirichlet's class number formula. Consequently, we provide computational advantages to estimate the class numbers of such fields. We also give some numerical examples.

Background Syndromic intellectual disability (ID) with accompanying primary microcephaly is a group of rare neurodevelopmental disorders exhibiting extreme genetic and clinical heterogeneity. This layered heterogeneity can partially be resolved by unbiased genetic approaches targeting the genome with next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, including exome sequencing (ES). Objective This study was performed to dissect the clinical and genetic features in five distinct IDM cases. Methods Singleton or trio ES approach followed by in-depth variant analysis using alternative inheritance models was performed. Results We have identified biallelic loss of function variants in genes WDR62 and AP4M1 in three families, together with de novo missense variants in genes SOX11 and TRIO in two families. ES based haplotype analysis in two cases upon identification of an identical WDR62 variant in the homozygous state in two cases was suggestive of a small shared haplotype of 0.1 Mb. Additionally, we have shown a paternal origin for the de novo variant in TRIO via a polymorphic tag SNP, which enlightens the mutational mechanism for this variant. Conclusion In populations with high parental consanguinity, an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern for data analysis is usually the most obvious choice. Therefore, heterozygous variants may be overlooked in standard NGS analyses in consanguineous families. Our findings underlie the importance of using multiple inheritance models in NGS data analysis.
Comparison of the translucency of shaded zirconia all-ceramic systems
Kurtulmus-Yilmaz, Sevcan,Ulusoy, Mutahhar The Korean Academy of Prosthodonitics 2014 The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics Vol.6 No.5
PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the translucency of shaded zirconia allceramic systems. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Translucency of 3 different zirconia all-ceramic systems colored by different techniques was compared with a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic (IPS e.max Press). Square-shaped specimens with 0.5 mm thickness were fabricated from In-Ceram YZ, ICE Zirkon and Katana systems in A1, A2 and A3.5 shades according to Vitapan Classical shade tab (n=11). Specimens were then veneered and glazed with corresponding veneer ceramic recommended by each zirconia system manufacturer and the total thickness was set to 1.5 mm. Translucency measurements were performed with VITA Easyshade Compact spectrophotometer after each stage and translucency parameter was calculated. Data were statistically analyzed with repeated measures ANOVA and Tukey multiple comparison test. RESULTS. The control group was significantly more translucent than the zirconia systems (P<.05). ICE Zirkon cores showed the least translucency; neither In-Ceram YZ nor Katana systems were superior to each other in terms of translucency. Translucency of all specimens was decreased after veneering, and the translucency rankings were changed. CONCLUSION. Coloring technique did not have a significant effect on translucency of zirconia cores. Although zirconia systems were less translucent than lithium disilicate glass ceramic, they had partial translucency and there were translucency differences among the zirconia systems. Chroma affected the translucency of precolored zirconia cores.
Byzantine Monuments in Mediterranean in the Light of Cultural Heritage
Irfan Ozcan,Sevcan Yıldız,Pınar Celik 세계문화관광학회 2010 Conference Proceedings Vol.11 No.0
Cultural heritage can be defined as the most important heritage which are abstract or concrete and left from ancient societies. Concrete heritage mostly include cities, monuments, statues and castles. On the other hand abstract heritage is about culture. The interaction between culture and development has complicated and dynamic structure. Culture is formed by beliefs, values, behaviours, traditions which affect the social life style of a society. Cultural heritage gains different experiences by interacting with other societies along with the modernization and urbanization. Thus conserving cultural heritage is vitally important. In this study the importance of conservation from different sides will be emphasised and concrete Byzantine Monuments in Mediterranean Region will be studied by the help of secondary data. In this context the monuments in Turkey are determined and Byzantine cultural heritage was analysed in the borders of Mediterranean Region. Besides the importance of cultural heritage for societies is emphasised, the ideas of local authorities, local people, and visitors‘ ideas about the cultural heritage sites are mentioned and finally some suggestions are made.
