      • 5-Fluorouracil 투여가 마우스공장 소낭선세포의 방사선조사 효과에 미치는 영향

        The interaction of radiation and 5-Fluorouracil(5-FU) on mouse jejunal crypt cells was studied using the microcolony survival assay. 150㎎/㎏ of 5-FU was injected intraperitoneally 15 minutes before irradiation and 6 hours after irradiation. Jejunal crypt cells of mouse survived more when 5-FU was given 15 minutes before irradiation than giving it 6 hours after irradiation. The mean lethal doses(Do) of each of irradiation alone group, 5-FU injection group of 15 minutes preceding irradiation, and 5-FU injection group of 6 hours postirradiation were, 135, 135, and 114 rad respectively. The dose effect factor of each of 5-FU injection groups of 15 minutes preceding irradiation and of 6 hours post irradiation were 1.13 and 1.27.

      • 제주도 목야지내 독초의 분포상황 및 그 성분에 관한 조사 연구

        We, investigators made a survey on the species, regional distribution and toxic chemical components of the poisonous plants in Cheju island from March to Nov. 1974. The results obtained were as follows : 1. If not all, 86 species(65 spp. of herbs(inbolvlng ergot), 21 spp. of shrubs) within 42 families of the poisonous plants distributed in this Cheju area were classified. 2. According to their regional distribution, 36 spp, were in wild, field, 34 spp. in jungle area, 21 spp. in inhabited region, 15 spp. in a region of seashore, 5 spp. in a mountainous area. 3. And according to their toxic chemical components or poisoning types, they were classified as 7 spp. of cyanogenetic plants, 8 spp. of photosensitization, 6 spp. of oxalate-producing plants, 3 spp. of producing a thiamine deficiency, 2 spp. of teratogenetic effect, 1 sp (ergot) of gangrene production and 59 spp. of the other activities. 4. Actually, the bracken fern(Pteridium nquilinum) is a most problematic poisonous plant in livestock, because it is so high in frequecy or in this Cheju island. But, of course, it will be a nonsense to despise lots of the other poisonous plants.

        Spinal epidural hematoma is uncommon diseases of traumatic injury to the spine. If there is an ongoing neurological deficits, decompression of dural tube is the standard of treatment. The authors report two cases of traumatic epidural hematoma of the lumbar spine. The diagnosis was made on magnetic resonance image. One patient was performed surgical intervention and the other recovered spontaneously without surgical intervention.

        외상성 뇌실질 손상의 MRI

        The authors retrospectively analyzed the MRI findings of the 8 head-injured patients who had showed persistent unconsciousness and severe neurologic deficite after trauma. T2-weighted MR images disclosed high signal intensity lesions of various size and shape at lobar white matter and corpus callosum, subcortical gray matter, brain stem, and cerebral cortex, and assisted greatly in understanding the neurologic deficits of the corresponding patients. The lesions were mostly multiple and involved multiple structures CT's revealed in those patients only small hemorrhages, suspicious low densities, such nonspecific findings as slit ventricles and diffuse brain atrophy, or no abnormality at all. Post-traumatic parenchymatous lesions detected by MR images were either missed or quite underestimated on CT's. MRI was very superior to CT in the detection and anatomic localization of nonhemorrhagic intraaxial cerebral injuries, especially in the cases of small cortical contusions. CT is indicated in order to fastly detect intracranial hematomas which may need emergent surgical evacuation. If CT findings does not explain the neurologic degicits of the patients, especially in the late stage. MRI is indicated, MRI is expected to play a major role in the diagnosis of shear injuries involving white matter and brainstem where CT has been of little contribution or misleading.

      • 전분 Xanthates를 이용한 중금속 제거

        Starch xanthates have been considered as promising metal removers because they can be manufactured in relatively low cost with high metal binding capacity. Starch, the major material for the production of the xanthate, is an economically feasible and naturally biodegradable biopolymer. Xanthation is a simple and cheap process. The research has been carried out almost exclusively by USDA in Peoria, USA since 1960. Among the currently available products, cross-linked starch xanthate is most widely used because it has water-insolubility and high metal binding capacity. The complex with metal ions can be readily removed by filtration. However, the major drawback that starch xanthate has is its loss of the metal binding capacity during storage. By reducing moisture content and storing at low temperature, the starch xanthate may remain stable for a much extended period. But the drying and low-temperature storage require additional cost. Altermative is to produce the starch xanthate on the site of the industries releasing metal ions. This plan can minimize the storage period. Starch xanthates degrade slowly in the atmosphere releasing sulfur which cause the unpleasant odor. To extend usage of starch xanthate as metal scavenger, improvement of the storage stability is greatly required.

      • 뇌의 미만성 축삭 손상 정도, 지능 지수 그리고 예후와의 상호관계

        Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is defined as posttraumatic coma for over 24 hours without intracranial mass lesion. the purpose of this study was to examine the neurologic state of the patient and to evaluate the psychiatric sequela after DAI by psychometric analysis.Twenty eight patients with DAI were analyzed by a psychoanalyzer. Electroencephalography and magnetic resonance(MR) imaging were performed on eighteen patients. The ratio of male to female was about 6 to 1 and the major cause was traffic accident followed by fall down. Radiologic abnormality in MR image was predictors of poor outcome and early neurologic state was one of the most significant prognostic factor. Psychometric anlysis revealed that lntelligence Quotient was correlated with outcomes and most of patients with DAI were in normal range of lntelligence Quotient(67.9%) but they have suffered from variable psychologic problems, such as depression, anziety, phobia and dementia. Previous studies in DAI have been based principally on the prognostic factors and treatment without a systemic apporach to their meurologic and psychologic problems. Psychometric analysis can reveal psychologic symptom in the patients with DAI and appropriate management of their psychiatric problems may carry important implications for management of patients with moderate or servere DAI and improve rehabilitation outcomes.

        착화제와 유기산이 Wistar rat체내의 Sr 분포에 미치는 영향

        Wistar rat에 85SrCl2를 꼬리 정맥에 주사하여 체내 기관과 혈액 내 분포, 잔존율을 조사하였고 착화제와 유기산을 투여하여 혈장 단백질에 결합하는 Sr양의 변화를 측정하였다. 혈액내에서 Sr은 혈장에 60%, 세포에 40%부착되어 이동하였다. 혈장에 존재하는 Sr중 약 50%정도는 혈장 단백질과 결합한 상태였고, 세표에는 세포 표면에 가볍게 부착되어 있었다. Erythrocyte나 granulocyte보다 lymphocyte에 많은 양의 Sr이 부착되어 있었다. 투여후 초기 1시간 이내에 혈액 내에서 급격히 감소하여 뼈에 침착되었다. 이때 각 기관에서도 Sr의 잔존율은 24시간 이내에 크게 감소하였고, 뼈로 침착된 Sr은 24시간 이후에 서서히 감소하였다. 착화제 EDTA, EGTA 및 DTPA를 투여한 경우, 혈장 단백질에 결합하는 Sr의 양은 대조군의 57%에서 27-33%로 감소하였으며 citrate 및 oxalate의 투여시는 이값이 19%와 40%로 각각 감소하였다. 85SrCl2 was injected to the tail vein of Wistar rats and investigated its distribution and clearance in the tissues and blood. We also measured the changes in Sr binding to the blood plasma protein by administrating chelating agents and organic acids. For the blood, 60% of the Sr occurred in the plasma and 40% on the cell membrane. Fifty percent of Sr in the blood plasma was bound to plasma protein. Sr on the cell membrane seemed to be bound loosely. The binding in the lymphocyte was higher than in the erythrocyte and granulocyte. Within one hour Sr was quickly disappeared from the blood stream, to be accumulated in the bone. Twenty four hours after the injection, Sr decreased rapidly in the organs of soft tissue, but slowly in the bone. The binding of Sr to plasma protien decreased from 57% of the control to 27-33% in the group treated with chelating agents. EDTA. EGTA and DTPA and to 19% and 40% in the groups treated with organic acids, citrate and oxalate, respectively.

      • 優秀工業系 實科敎員養成을 위한 工業敎育大學 敎育課程 改善에 關한 硏究 : 工業敎育學部를 中心으로

        This paper is studied to improve the curriculum of the College of Industrial Education of Chungnam National University, which is more helpful for the students to become a competent teacher of technical high school. The thesis includes the curriculum of general, professional, technical subjects and so on. The main conclusions are summarized as follows; 1) The current curriculum of the College of Industrial Education was formed on a wholesale manner following the basis of standard courses for some characterized engineering colleges. But the suggested is conformed to the curriculum system of CNU in credits and hours. 2) The current technical subjects are mainly based on the curriculum of college of engineering, but the newly suggested technical subjects are conformed to the curriculum of technical high school as following that some departments of engineering are founded in the College of Industrial Education. 3) In current curriculum, the ratio of reguired technical subjects to elective technical subjects is 85:15. In suggested curriculum, the ratio of it is largely changed to 45:55 for effective operation of minor cousres. And the lists of the subjects for minor courses are changed from subjects for College of Science to subjects for College of Engineering.
