Radio frequency coil which is capable of transmit and receive the signal has been used for image production in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Tuning and matching characteristic of radio frequency coil is major factor determining the image quality. In experiment the used coil was called a staircase type coil which is simplified the birdcage coil and referred to a simple LC resonant circuit. Because the inductance values of the coils are fixed coil performance was examined by changing of the capacitance values. In this study capacitance values were experimentally determined to increase of-tuning and matching effect in junction of the coil between coil endring and BNC cable to obtain the high quality of image.

Combination Effects of Essential Oils from Thymus species with Norfloxacin against Streptococcus pneumoniae

The combination effects of essential oils from Thymus quinquecostatus and T. magnus with norfloxacin were evaluated against three strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae. The checkerboard titer test results demonstrated significant combined effects of norfloxacin and the two Thymus oils or thymol, the main component of this oil, against the susceptible and resistant strains of S. pneumoniae, with FICIs ranging from 0.14 to 1.00. Additionally, the anti-Streptococcus effects of the oils were dose-dependent on Tryptic soy agar plates containing 5% defibrinated sheep blood.

거제도(경상남도, 거제시)의 거미상

2017년 7월 4일부터 6일까지 경상남도 거제시 거제도 일대를 김주필, 김대희, 지승환, 지성현, 최라미, 이영경 등 한국거미연구소 회원들이 주야로 채집한 결과, 총 23과 56속 75종이 조사 연구되어 이에 발표하는 바이다. 채집한 표본은 주필거미박물관에 보관하였다. From July 4 to 6 in 2017. Joo-Pil Kim, Dae-Hee Kim, Seung-Hwan Ji, Sung-Hyun Ji, Ra-Mi Choi, Yeong-Gyeong Lee, the members of The Arachnological Institute of Korea investigated the spiders in the whole area of Geoje city, Geoje-do, Gyeongsangnam-do and report 23 Family 56 Genus 75 Species of spiders. The collected spiders are placed (stored) in the Joo-Pil Spider museum.

에미션(Emission)의 에너지화를 위한 법제적 대응 : 폐기물의 자원화를 위한 기술개발에 대응한 법제 개편을 중심으로

Science and technology are responsible for the development of human society and have made our lives more convenient. However, we must also carefully consider what it could mean to our society if we develop this kind of technology. Technology for energy recovery from waste is advancing and improving and new technologies are developed. In recent years, the Government has increased the amount of waste being recycled to resource circulation society. But, legal framework on waste management and resource recycling was unsystematic in Korea. And it takes a long time to be reflected in the new technology. Therefore, We need to redefine what waste-to-energy mean and rationalize regulations. And Government have to provide a differentiated supports to promote technology. 환경법의 영역에서는 에미션(Emission)을 줄이기 위해 배출을 금지하거나 허용기준을 낮추는 방안이 주로 모색되며, 폐기물을 재처리 또는 가공하여 에너지원 또는 에너지로 변환시키는 기술이 속속 개발되고 있다. 이에, 법은 ‘기술개발’이라는 요인에 주목하고, 새로운 오염원, 새로운 기술로 인해 발생하는 공백을 메우기 위해 진화해야 한다. 폐기물의 에너지화를 위해서는 생산부터 유통, 소비, 폐기에 이르기까지 효율적으로 자원을 이용하고 제품의 재순환을 촉진함으로써 자원의 소비를 억제시키며, 재활용(재사용･재생이용, 에너지 회수를 포함), 소각, 매립 등의 처리 방법 중에서도 환경 친화적인 방법인 재활용이 소각, 매립보다 우선되어야 한다. 이에, 폐기물을 최종적 처분의 대상이 아닌 새로운 에너지원으로서 자원순환적인 관점에서 재검토하고, 기술의 개발 및 활용을 위한 법제 정비 필요성이 제기된다. 종래 ｢폐기물관리법｣은 재활용의 용도와 방법을 명시적으로 규정하고 있어, 관련 신기술이 법령에 반영되기까지 장기간이 소요되었다. 이에, 폐기물의 종류 및 재활용 유형에 관한 세부 분류를 환경부령으로 정하고, 폐기물 재활용을 원칙적 허용-예외적 금지인 네거티브 방식으로 전환하는 내용으로 개정되었다. 그러나, 폐기물을 에너지화 하는 과정에서 각종 오염물질이 배출되며 새로운 기술의 적용시 예측하지 못한 위험이 발생할 수 있으므로, 폐기물이 갖는 고유한 특성과 유해성에 따라 차별적인 기준을 설정해야만 네거티브 규제가 실효적으로 운영될 수 있으며, 평가기관 내 기술인력 수 등의 요건 역시 강화될 필요가 있다. 또한, 경제적 규제라고 하더라도 국민의 생명･건강 및 환경에 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 폐기물 에너지화 관련 신기술은 인체 유해성이나 환경오염 가능성을 잠재적으로 내포하고 있다. ｢자원순환기본법｣의 시행 이후 폐기물 에너지화는 순환이용에 포섭되므로, 유해성 및 순환이용성 평가에 대한 실효성 확보가 필요하다. 특히, 환경기초시설의 인프라적 성격과 폐기물 성상의 차이로 인해, 폐기물 에너지화 관련 기술은 시범 플랜트 운영을 통해 개발이 상용화로 연계될 수 있도록 지원해야 한다. 폐기물 에너지화 기술 개발을 지원할 분야에 대해 R&D 지원이 차별화되어야 하며, 개발된 기술의 상용화를 위한 법･제도적 지원이 병행되어야 할 것이다.

그레이트 데인에서 발생한 위확장염전 증례

A 4-month-old female Great Dane dog with abdominal distention and non-productive retching after gulping of food and water yesterday was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. Depression and abdominal distention with tympany were observed on physical examination. Decreased RBC and PCV were observed on CBC. And ALKP, BUN, Glu and P were increased on a serum chemistry. Severe gas filled distention of the stomach and intestines were shown on the abdominal radiographs. Pylorus was displaced craniodorsally toward the left side and gastric body was deviated to the right side on the abdominal radiographs. Deviating cranially of the diaphragm and decreased size of the heart were observed on thoracic radiographs. Therefore this case was diagnosed as gastric dilatation-volvulus.

酒精 슬러지의 脫水 및 燒却特性

This study has been carried out to confirm the incineration and dewatering ability of the alcohol stillage sludge when pulverized coal is added. This study aims was increasing of alcohol stillage sludge dewatering and combustion ability using heat content analysis as vary coal dosage and particle size. The conclusions from experiment are as followings : 1. This study has been carried out to determine the coal dosage. The optimum bewatering efficiency was reached when 150% Pulverized coal was added to sludge soild content. 2. The optimum dewatering efficiency was reached when the coal particle size was 0.149㎜ and 0.250㎜. 3. The heating value according to alcohol stillage sludge and pulverized coal mixture ratio was obtained high heating value, pulverized coal ration the higher.

Pendimethalin이 벼의 생육에 미치는 영향 : Oryza sativa

일년생 잡초 방제용 제초제 pendimethalin을 이앙과 동시에 처리하였을 때 벼의 초기 생육에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 지상부와 뿌리의 생장에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않았다. 2. 분얼수는 pendimethalin 처리 후 30일에 다소 감소하였으나 이후 회복되는 경향이었다. 3. 지상부의 거눌중은 처리후 30일에 다소 감소하였으며 이러한 감소비율은 처리 후 40일에도 비슷하였다. 반면 뿌리의 건물중 변화에는 영향이 없었다. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of pendimethalin treatment on the early growth of rice(Oryza saliva). Rice seedlings were transplanted in pot and herbicides, pendimethalin and butachlor, were treated immediately after transplanting. Plant length, tiller number and plant dry weight were measured after 10, 20, 30 and 40 days after transplanting. Shoot and root length were not affected by pendimethalin and butachlor treatments. However, tiller number at 40 days after transplanting(DAT) was reduced by pendimethalin and butachlor about 0.3 and 3.7 no./plant, respectively. Even though plant length was not affected by both pendimethalin and butachlor treatments, dry weight was reduced. The reduction of dry weight of shoot at 40 DAT by pendimethalin and butachlor was about 12 and 46%, respectively. In contrast, root dry weight was not affected by pendimethalin treatment.

수직 치근 파절의 임상적 및 방사선적 연구

Vertical root fractures have been described as longitudinally oriented fractures of the root, extending from the root canal to the periodontium. They usually occur in endodontically treated teeth, although occurrence in non-restored teeth has been described. It can traverse the root in different directions mesially/distally or facially/lingually and may or may not involve the pulpal chamber. If unrecognized, vertical root fractures can lead to frustration and inappropriate endodontic treatment. Diagnosis is sometimes difficult as there is often no single clinical feature which indicates that root fracture is present and sings and symptoms are often delayed. Vertical root fractures that involved the gingival sulcus/pocket area usually have a hopeless prognosis due to continuous bacterial invasion of the fracture space from the oral environment. Single-rooted teeth will have to be extracted. In multi-rooted teeth a treatment alternative is hemisection and extraction of the fractured root. Where successful outcomes of conservative treatment have been claimed, the long-term prognosis has yet to be proven. This study reviews the clinical characteristics, diagnostic signs, and possible causes of vertical root fractures and reports 3 cases of vertical root fractrues.

Genomic DNA분석을 위한 백혈구 추출 칩 개발

혈액에서의 genomic DNA의 활용은 성별의 구별에서부터 질병의 유무 및 진단에 이르기까지 다양하게 사용되어지고 있다. 이에 따라 좀 더 효율적이고 빠른 genomic DNA의 분석이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 지금까지 혈액에서의 genomic DNA PCR을 위해서는 복잡한 genomic DNA 추출 과정이 선행 되었다. 본 연구에서는. 혈구세포내에서 유일하게 핵을 가지며 DNA를 가지고 있는 백혈구만을 선별 하여 이를 PCR 증폭을 수행하여 기존의 방법의 약 3배 정도 적은 시간과 화학물질을 사용하여 비슷한 결과를 얻을 수 있는 microfluidic chip을 설계하였다. Genomic DNA PCR (polymerase chain reaction) method must need to extraction step. We collected to the leukocyte that is only to have a nuclear and DNA in whole blood component. The exofcted leukocyte was applied to the PCR method in directly. A high effciency microfluidic chip was designed to extract leukocyte from whole blood using the lab-on a chip technology. This chip was able to the fast time and low chemical volume by 3-fold.

PC를 이용한 웹 기반 원격 방사선 인터넷 PACS 설계 및 구현

This study can get the result below with the embodiment of INTERNET- PACS system. 1. This study is to embody the INTERNET-PACS that can use the main functions of high-priced PACS that can be used in the general small hospitals by the embodiment on the general PC. And it made the burden about the additional expenses decreasing at maximum by the development of DICOM converter algorithm and by the interlock with the existing devices. 2. Also it could expand the PACS in stage as well as it made the information transmission in the hospitals through the network easy at the same time with the share of the client and the server on a system. 3. The embodied INTERNET-PACS system have advantages that have independent image management and operation system and that can make the system more flexible in its embodiment because the standard protocol is used in the internet recently.
