        Recombinant von Willebrand Factor for Pediatric Patient with von Willebrand Disease: First Report in Korea

        von Willebrand disease (VWD) is the most common hereditary bleeding disorder. The treatment of VWD consists mainly of desmopressin and plasma-derived von Willebrand factor (pd-VWF) concentrate. We report on the first patient with VWD to be treated with recombinant VWF (rVWF) concentrate in Korea. Our patient was diagnosed with type 2 VWD at 10 months of age and suffered persistent severe epistaxis despite therapeutic levels of VWF activity and factor VIII (FVIII). At 34 months of age, rVWF was initiated and administered a total of 15 times in the following 8 months. No drug-related adverse events were observed and the patient was neither admitted nor given any transfusions during this period. Unlike pd-VWF/FVIII concentrates, rVWF did not increase FVIII to the excessively high levels that constitute a risk factor for thromboembolism, and was also preferable to pd-VWF/FVIII concentrates in that it contains ultra-large multimers of VWF. This is the first reported case in Korea in which rVWF was used to treat VWD. rVWF may be well tolerated and effective in VWD patients, especially those with refractory bleeding.

      • Understanding the Effects of Au Morphology on CO<sub>2</sub> Electrocatalysis

        <P>Toward efficient CO<SUB>2</SUB> electrocatalysis for CO production, nanostructured Au catalysts have been extensively investigated by the morphology control of oxygen plasma-induced Au islands, oxide-derived Au, Au nanowires (NWs), Au nanoparticles (NPs), nanoporous Au thin films, and Au needles, yet the better performance of one morphology from another is presently not well-understood, making a rational design difficult. Here, the effects of metal morphologies are investigated by focusing on Au NWs and NPs using density functional theory calculations. It is revealed that activity of two key undercoordinated active sites, namely, edge and corner sites, varies delicately with different local coordination environments of various NWs and NPs, and the observed activity trend is remarkably well-rationalized with a generalized coordination number. Furthermore, it is identified that the type of planes and the dihedral angle of the constituent planes are two key factors determining the catalytic activity. A general activity trend for CO<SUB>2</SUB> reduction and H<SUB>2</SUB> evolution with the consideration of the density of each type of sites explains why Au NWs exhibit better catalytic performance than Au NPs, as in experiments.         기업가정신과 업무경력에 관한 탐색적 사례연구: 기업유형별 기회포착, 기회실현, 위기관리 전략

        세계적으로 성공가도를 달리고 있는 강소기업과 히든챔피언이 주목받고 있는 만큼, 최근의 기업가정신 연구는 중소벤처기업의 성공전략과 위기관리에 집중되고 있다. 본 연구는 그 동안 기업가정신 연구에 많이 적용되지 않았던 업무경력과 기업의 유형을 고려하여 2개의 경력 창업사례(기술 집중형 1곳, 마케팅 집중형 1곳)와 2개의 무경력 창업사례(기술 집중형 1곳, 마케팅 집중형 1곳)를 비교 분석하여 기회추구, 기회실현, 위기관리 3단계에서의 특성을 발견하고 적합한 성공전략을 제시하였다. 연구결과 기회포착 단계에서 유경력 창업은 소속한 조직과 사회에 대한 문제의식에서 사업기회를 포착하고, 무경력 창업의 경우 창업자의 인생과 일상생활에서의 불편함이 사업기회의 포착으로 이루어졌다. 기회실현의 단계에 있어서는 기술 집중형 경력창업은 기존 경력과 연계되는 특화된 업종에서의 문제해결기술 개발을 통해 사업기회를 실현하고, 마케팅 집중형 경력창업은 기존 업종의 유통채널이 가지고 있는 문제점을 구조적으로 해결하고 플랫폼 구축과 서비스 개선을 통해 기회 실현을 이루어 냈음을 알 수 있었다. 무경력 창업의 경우, 기술 집중형 창업은 다른 서비스와 호환성이 높은 융합 및 기반기술에 집중하여 기회를 실현하였고, 마케팅 집중형 창업은 Facebook, Tiwiter와 같은 소셜 네트워크와 클라우드 펀딩 등의 방식으로 기회를 실현하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 위기관리의 측면에서는 기업의 유형별로 대처 형태가 흡사했는데, 기술 집중형 기업들은 기존의 메이저 유통사와의 서비스 제휴 및 협력을 통한 마케팅 채널 강화에 주력했고, 마케팅/서비스 집중형 기업은 사업다각화와 제품 다양화를 통해 지속가능성 실현에 힘쓰고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 본 연구는 기업가정신이 창업시점 창업자의 업무경력에 따라 중소벤처기업에 각기 다른 방향의 영향력을 미치고, 기술역량과 마케팅역량에도 영향을 미쳐 중소벤처기업의 서로 다른 핵심역량으로 발현한다는 시사점과 향후 연구과제를 제시하였다. Recent entrepreneurship research has focused on success strategy and risk management of venture firms due to the outstanding performance of hidden champions. In this research, we aimed to investigate the relationship between work experience and entrepreneurship in two different types of firms (technology-intensive firms and marketing-intensive firms), and propose the relative strategies at three stages; opportunity exploration, opportunity realization and risk management. According to this study, at opportunity exploration stage, entrepreneurs with work experience tended to explore the business opportunity from the problem of previous organization, while entrepreneurs with no work experience captured the opportunity from their normal life. At opportunity realization stage, technology-intensive firm with work experience-based entrepreneur, realized opportunity by inventing technology for specific segment, while technology-intensive firm with no work experience-based entrepreneur focused on technology, which is easy to be compatible with other services. In other hands, marketing-intensive firm with work experience-based entrepreneur, tried to solve the structural problem of existing ecosystem while marketing-intensive firm with no experience-based entrepreneur focused on SNS channels and cloud funding. At risk management stage, technology-intensive firms with both work experience-based and no experience-based entrepreneurs are concentrated on developing marketing channels by cooperating with major distribution firms, while marketing intensive firms with both work experience based, and no experience-based entrepreneurs are relying on diversification of service and product.

        중국, 일본, 싱가포르 대학의 창업정책 비교: 칭화대학교, 도쿄공업대학, 싱가폴국립대학을 중심으로

        세계적으로 창업과 혁신이 국가적 아젠다로 주목받음에 따라 미국, 유럽, 중국, 일본을 비롯한 세계 주요국가의 창업지원정책은 큰 폭으로 확대되며 그 성공 요인과 효과성에 대해 학계와 업계의 관심은 높아지고 있다. 기존의 대학발 창업정책에 관한 연구들이 정량적인 데이터를 위주로 각국의 연구중심대학의 창업지원활동과 그 핵심 성공요인에 대해 분석해 왔다면, 본 연구는 실제로 중국 칭화대학 경영대학을 이끌고 기술혁신센터와 X-lab을 운영하고 있는 Chenjin 교수, 도쿄공업대학의 기술경영교육과 기술사업화를 책임지고 있는 Tanabe 교수 그리고 싱가폴국립대학의 기술사업화, 창업 그리고 기술경영학과의 학과장을 맡고 있는 Hang Chang Chieh 교수 등을 직접 만나고 오랜 시간의 토론과 논의를 통해 보다 깊이 있는 시사점을 이끌어 내는데 초점을 맞췄다. 연구결과 3곳의 아시아 연구중심 대학 모두 학제적 갈등과 이론 및 현실 상충성에 대한 어려움을 겪고 있었으며, 이를 극복하기 위해 자국과 자대의 핵심역량을 유기적으로 연결하는데 집중하고, 세계화에 앞장서고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 반면 한국의 경우 아시아의 선도적인 연구중심대학들이 진행하는 창업관련 지원활동을 다수 보유하고 있음에도 불구하고 참여자들의 적극성결여와 지원정책의 단발성 그리고 과도하게 국내시장에 포커스되어 효과적인 성과를 발휘 하지 못하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. This study aimed to conduct comparative analysis of three representative research oriented university of China, Japan and Singapore on its start-up policy and cooperative model for sheding lights on Korean universities' start-up policy and program. By having in-depth interview with professor Chenjin from Tsinghua University, department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Policy, professor Tanabe from Tokyo Institute, department of innovation science and professor Foo Maw Der from National University of Singapore, department of Engineering and Technology Management, I was able to find out some meaningful findings. First, all three universities are having difficulties on balancing academic education and practical education. second, three universities are focusing on their core competency, for example, Tsinghua university is mostly focusing on market, resource and ecosystem while TIT is focusing on technology development and NUS is focusing on business model. lastly, three universities are actively expanding their international cooperation relationship. As a result, for Korean universities, the most important and urgent issue on start-up policy is consistency on technology development and glottalization on market.

        High Performance and Flexible Electrodeposited Silver Mesh Transparent Conducting Electrodes Based on a Self-Cracking Template

        Metal network based transparent conducting electrodes are essential for the future optoelectronic devices due to their mechanical flexibility and compatible with large-scale manufacturing. In this report, we investigated the morphological, optical, electrical, and flexible properties of an electrodeposited silver (Ag) mesh transparent conducting electrodes based on a self-cracking template. An overly coated Ag mesh (ED-TE Ag mesh) was prepared onto glass and PET substrates by the sequential deposition steps including thermal evaporation and electroplating methods. The self-cracking template was lift-off prior to the over coating of Ag by the electrodeposition step. The surface morphologies of ED-TE Ag meshes are smooth and well interconnected. The Ag mesh thickness and line width are typically increased with the electroplating time from 0 s to 30 s. The ED-TE Ag mesh shows higher optoelectronic performance with a larger figure of merit (2827 (Ω/sq)−1) than the individual evaporated Ag mesh (756 (Ω/sq)−1) and the ITO film (311 (Ω/sq)−1). Moreover, the low sheet resistance (1.01 Ω/sq) of the ED-TE Ag mesh is observed at 30 s. The ED-TE Ag mesh exhibits almost stable resistance to both concave and convex bending tests, even at a smaller radius of curvature (<2 mm). Thus, these electrodes are more suitable for many flexible device applications like solar cells, displays, etc.

        On the mechanism of electrochemical ammonia synthesis on the Ru catalyst

        <P>We theoretically investigate the electrochemical N-2 reduction reaction (NRR) mechanism to produce NH3 on the Ru catalyst. All possible N-N dissociation steps during the reduction processes were evaluated along with the conventional associative and dissociative pathways. Based on the calculated free energy diagrams, it is revealed that the kinetically facile intermediate dissociative pathways during the NRR require a thermodynamic limiting potential (-0.71 V) similar to the associative pathway (-0.68 V), although the initial dissociative pathway as in the Haber-Bosch process has a substantial kinetic barrier for the N-N bond dissociation. The competitive hydrogen evolution is found to be a major hurdle for achieving a high efficiency for the electrochemical nitrogen reduction. In the low overpotential region, the hydrogen adsorption is thermodynamically more favorable than the protonation of N-2, thereby reducing the number of active sites for the N-2 activation. A comparison of free energies in the presence of different H-coverages on the Ru further demonstrates that the H-coverage can significantly increase the energy barrier for the first protonation of N-2, resulting in a change of the potential determining step and an increase in the overpotentials.</P>

        의미역 표지 부착을 위한 부가어의 의미역 연구

        The purpose of this thesis is to study the semantic role of adjunct in order to build a semantic role labeled corpus. The semantic role tag set of the adjunct used so far is prepared without a holistic consideration of the entire adjunct, so the similar constituents were analyzed as different semantic role, and the heterogeneous constituents were analyzed as a same semantic role. In this paper, the semantic role tags used so far has been inherited as much as possible. However, for strict classification, the semantic role tags such as ROU (route), QNT (quantity), DGR (degree), CRT (criterion), and QLF (qualification) were newly added, and the semantic role tags such as PRD (secondary predication), ADV(adverbials), NEG(negation), DIS(discourse), AUX(auxiliary), PSR(possessor) were abolished. In the case of EXT (extent), the definition of the label was renewed and used. Regarding the semantic role analysis method, MNR (method), CND (condition), and EXT (range), which were particularly confusing, were intensively rearranged. In addition to CAU (cause), PRP (purpose), and CND (condition), CNC (concession), PRE (preceeding), BCK (background), COR (coordination), CTR (contrast) and SEL (selective) have been newly established, so that adverbial clauses can also be analyzed as adjuncts. MOD (modal) was also newly established to analyze modal adverbs. If the semantic role tag set and analysis method of adjuncts are improved in this way, the quality of the semantic analysis corpus can be improved.
