This study discusses the superior effect of thixoforming process on enhancing the tensile properties of aluminium matrixcomposite produced using flake metallurgy route. The flake metallurgy process was utilised to manufacture aluminiummatrix composites followed by thixoforming process. Microstructural investigations carried out using transmission electronmicroscope have shown the synergic effect of thixoforming process on rendering uniform distribution of SiC nanoparticlesassociated with lower porosity content. X-ray diffraction characterisations have revealed the promising effect of uniformdispersion of SiC nanoparticles on restricting the grain growth of aluminium matrix within nanoscale regime (90 nm) evenat high semi-solid thixoforming temperatures (575 °C). The achieved results of tensile tests have shown a profound effect offlake metallurgy of aluminium powder through dual speed ball milling. These results are higher than those achieved by lowspeed and high speed even with higher SiC content. This was attributed to the uniform confinement of SiC nanoparticleswithin the samples produced using flake-assisted forming process compared to the ones manufactured using ball millingassistedprocesses.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this work, Ag3PO4 nanoparticles were successfully decorated on graphene-like MoS2 sheet by one-pot hydrothermal method. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Photoluminescence (PL), and Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) spectroscopy techniques were employed for the characterization of the prepared sample. Harnessing the True Power of Altmetrics to Track Engagement
Saud Sarah,Traboco Lisa,Gupta Latika 대한의학회 2021 Journal of Korean medical science Vol.36 No.48
Altmetrics has recently been at the forefront of tracking medical literature propagation on social media in the modern era. With the rapidly evolving landscape of social media for academia, there's room to revise the approach. The authors discuss current limitations and suggest changes to make online attention trackers more robust and wholesome. Medical literature propagated on currently popular social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok are not accounted for by altmetrics. For altmetrics to become a more robust tool it is vital that it keeps up with the times and accounts for representation of data from these platforms as well. Greater inclusivity, dynamic weightage of different social media platforms based on location dependant availability and usage, and period re-evaluation based on prevailing trends may help metrics reflect the true attention garnered by published research. Besides, development of hybrid scores with separate components to reflect online attention and traditional citations may provide readers a more fair and balanced perception of the actual importance of an article. With the changes proposed, altmetrics has the potential to become a much more inclusive and reflective tool in times to come.

This article examines the infl uence of career development on employee performance in public sector, mediated by perceived organizational support, work motivation, and affective commitment. By analyzing the perceptions of 250 civil servants in 15 regional branches of Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, and using structural equation analysis with SmartPLS 2.0 program, the findings reveal that career development has positive direct influence on perceived organizational support, motivation, and affective commitment. However, career development has no direct influence on performance. The indirect examination shows that mediating variables are perceived to have significant influence in strengthening that relationship. These findings theoretically imply that career development may be dependent on the extent to which organization is capable of providing perceived organizational support and motivation in promoting affective commitment and performance. Practically, these findings reveal the importance of both Indonesian’s central and local government to implement performance-based rewards.

Removal of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) has been successfully done with plasma-catalytic reactors such as packed-bed dielectric barrier discharge reactor. Due to the high-pressure drop and low treating volume of gas in these reactors, the practical application involves large operation and maintenance costs. A commercial honeycomb monolith reactor can treat large volumes of gas along with homogeneous discharge through the honeycomb cells. The commercial honeycomb is at least 50mm of height and it has been one of the hurdles to generating homogeneous plasma for commercialization purposes. For ethylene treatment, relative humidity has a huge effect on the generation of plasma as well as the adsorption of ethylene over catalysts. Our work focuses on the generation of atmospheric pressure plasma in the commercial monolith in a relatively high humid environment and to utilize it for the effective removal of ethylene.

Backgrounds/Aims: We report our experience with day-surgery laparoscopic cholecystectomy and assess its feasibility and safety. Methods: Data was collected on all the patients who underwent day-surgery laparoscopic cholecystectomy between February 2009 and February 2014 at Prince Sultan Military Medical City, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. All patients had symptomatic cholelithiasis that was proven on imaging studies with clearance of the common bile duct. The patient biographical data (age, gender, American Society of Anaesthesiology status, medical comorbidities) and surgical outcomes were then obtained. There was an evaluation of the success rate of day-surgery laparoscopic cholecystectomy, reasons for unexpected admission, and the re-admission rate. Results: A total of 1,140 patients were included in this study. The success rate for day-surgery laparoscopic cholecystectomy was 96%. The reasons for unexpected hospital admission for 46 patients (4%) included persistent abdominal pain and postoperative emesis. The postoperative re-admission rate was 0.4% (5 patients). There were no major complications, and the conversion rate was 0.5% (6 patients). Conclusions: We suggest that day-surgery laparoscopic cholecystectomy is both safe and feasible in a local setting. Careful patient selection is essential in ensuring a high success rate.

<P>Highly photocatalytic and antibacterial Ag2CO3 nanoparticles were incorporated into PAN nanofibers by electrospinning technique followed by ion exchange reaction between silver nitrate and sodium bicarbonate at room temperature. The samples were characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL), and Fourier transformed infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The as prepared sample was found to exhibit an excellent photocatalytic activity toward degradation of methylene blue (MB) in aqueous solution and antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli colt) under visible light. The perfect recovery of catalyst after reaction and its unchanged efficiency for cyclic use showed that it will be an economically and environmentally friendly photocatalyst for the water purification.</P>
