Interplay of organizational identification, regulatory focused job crafting and job satisfaction in management of emerging job demands: evidence from public sector enterprises

Sanjeet Kumar Sameer,Pushpendra Priyadarshi 한국행정학회 2021 International Review of Public Administration Vol.26 No.1

Public sector enterprises (PSEs) face market complexities like any other commercial organization. To ensure sustenance of such enterprises, effective management of emerging job demands by their employees is crucial. Acknowledging relevance of this issue, the present study examines the role of employees’ organizational identification, as a job resource, in promotion- and preventionfocused job crafting and its effect on job satisfaction, by applying job demands-resources and regulatory focus theories. Data collected through survey questionnaire from 433 executives of public sector energy companies of India were analyzed to test hypotheses. The study found a positive effect of organizational identification on promotion- and prevention-focused job crafting and job satisfaction. Promotion-focused job crafting partially mediated the relationship of organizational identification and job satisfaction unlike prevention-focused job crafting. These unique findings may be useful from the perspective of effective job demands-resources management in a dynamic and complex operating environment of PSEs. Theoretical contributions and practical implications have been discussed.

CLB-ECC: Certificateless Blind Signature Using ECC

( Sanjeet Kumar Nayak ),( Sujata Mohanty ),( Banshidhar Majhi ) 한국정보처리학회 2017 Journal of information processing systems Vol.13 No.4

Certificateless public key cryptography (CL-PKC) is a new benchmark in modern cryptography. It not only simplifies the certificate management problem of PKC, but also avoids the key escrow problem of the identity based cryptosystem (ID-PKC). In this article, we propose a certificateless blind signature protocol which is based on elliptic curve cryptography (CLB-ECC). The scheme is suitable for the wireless communication environment because of smaller parameter size. The proposed scheme is proven to be secure against attacks by two different kinds of adversaries. CLB-ECC is efficient in terms of computation compared to the other existing conventional schemes. CLB-ECC can withstand forgery attack, key only attack, and known message attack. An e-cash framework, which is based on CLB-ECC, has also been proposed. As a result, the proposed CLB-ECC scheme seems to be more effective for applying to real life applications like e-shopping, e-voting, etc., in handheld devices.

      • Clinico-pathology of Lung Cancer in a Regional Cancer Center in Northeastern India

Mandal, Sanjeet Kumar,Singh, Thaudem Tomcha,Sharma, Takhenchangbam Dhaneshor,Amrithalingam, Venkatesan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.12

Background: Globally, there have been important changes in trends amongst gender, histology and smoking patterns of lung cancer cases. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on 466 patients with lung cancer who were registered in Regional Cancer Center, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Manipur from January 2008 to December 2012. Results: Most were more than 60 years of age (67.8%) with a male: female ratio of 1.09:1. Some 78.8% of patients were chronic smokers with male smoker to female smoker ratio of 1.43:1. Consumption of alcohol was found in 29.4%, both smoking and alcohol in 27.5%, betel nut chewing in 37.9% and tobacco chewing in 25.3%. A history of tuberculosis was present in 16.3% of patients. The most frequent symptom was coughing (36.6%) and most common radiological presentation was a mass lesion (70%). Most of the patients had primary lung cancer in the right lung (60.3%). The most common histological subtype was squamous cell carcinoma (49.1%), also in the 40-60 year age group (45.9%), more than 60 year age group (51.6%), males (58.1%) and females (41.8%). As many as 91.9% of squamous cell carcinoma patients had a history of smoking. About 32.5% of patients had distant metastasis at presentation with brain (23.8%) and positive malignant cells in pleural effusions (23.1%) as common sites. The majority of patients were in stage III (34.4%), stage IV (32.5%) and stage II (30.2%). Conclusions: Our analysis suggests that the gender gap has been narrowed such that about half of the patients diagnosed with lung cancer are women in this part of India. This alarming rise in female incidence is mainly attributed to an increased smoking pattern. Squamous cell carcinoma still remains the commonest histological subtype. Most of the patients were elderly aged and presented at locally or distantly advanced stages.

How emotionally intelligent employees manage their internal employability through role-based job crafting? – evidence from public sector enterprises

Sameer Sanjeet Kumar,Priyadarshi Pushpendra 한국행정학회 2023 International Review of Public Administration Vol.28 No.3

Acknowledging the relevance of work environment in influencing job-related choices, this paper examines the relationship between emotional intelligence, role-based job crafting i.e. task, relational and cognitive crafting, job autonomy and internal employability. The role of job autonmy as a moderator and role-based job crafting as mediator between emotional intelligence and internal employability has also been examined. The study was conducted on 296 managers working in Indian public sector enterprises and found interesting findings including a positive and direct effect of emotional intelligence on all three forms of role-based job crafting and internal employability. The results for mediation effect of job crafting and moderation effect of job autonomy varied depending upon the form of role-based job crafting. The paper discusses theoretical implications and practical relevance of these findings and may provide a direction for interlinking job demands-resources and conservation of resource theories.

Analysis, Design, and Implementation of a Single-Phase Power-Factor Corected AC-DC Zeta Converter with High Frequency Isolation

        Bhim Singh,Mahima Agrawal,Sanjeet Dwivedi 대한전기학회 2008 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.3 No.2

This paper deals with the analysis, design, and implementation of a single phase AC-DC Zeta converter with high frequency transformer isolation and power factor correction (PFC) in two modes of operation, discontinuous current mode of operation (DCM), and continuous current mode of operation (CCM). A Digital Signal Processor (DSP) based implementation is carried out for validation of the Zeta converter developed design in discontinuous mode of operation. A comparison of both modes of operation is presented for a 1㎾ power rating from the point of view of steady state and dynamic behavior, power quality, simplicity, control technique, device rating, and converter size. The experimental results of a developed prototype of Zeta converter are presented for validation of the developed design. It is observed that CCM is most suitable for higher power applications where it requires some complex control and sensing of the additional variables.
