      • MODEL OF GREEN PURCHASE INTENTION AND GREEN PURCHASE BEHAVIOR BY EXTENDING TPB FRAMEWORK WITH EFFECT OF HOFSTEDE’S CULTURAL VALUES IN GREEN FOOD PRODUCTS

        Samriti Mahajan,Justin Paul,Daria Plotkina 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07

Healthy and environmentally friendly food is a subject of increasing prominence all around the world, and especially so in developing countries such as India, where consumption of agricultural goods produced in a sustainable environment with a low reliance on pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, and genetic manipulation is a real challenge. Consumer interest in green food items is increasing as safety and health concerns grow, and researchers are calling for further investigation of green food consumer behavior. Although a large number of research was done on environmental performance in industrialized countries, very little research has been conducted among Indian consumers. Furthermore, the gap between intention to consume green food products and actual behavior remains under-investigated. This gap can be investigated through the prism of theory of planned behavior (TPB). This theory has been widely used in green consumer studies: it seeks to explain how individuals make decisions and take actions based on their attitudes, beliefs, and perceived behavioral control. However, the TPB has not been extended to account for cultural values (i.e., Hofstede’s cultural framework), which can play an important role in shaping consumer attitudes and behaviors. Therefore, this research investigates the application of the extended TPB model in the context of green food products with a quantitative survey among Indian consumers (N=387). The results show that long-term (health) orientation and collectivism influence both green purchase intention and behavior. This effect is explained by subjective norms, perceived value, and environmental attitudes of the consumers.

Dielectric behavior of carbon-nanotube-doped ferroelectric liquid crystal mixture

Samriti Khosla,Arti Sharma 한국정보디스플레이학회 2013 Journal of information display Vol.14 No.4

The dielectric spectra of pure and 0.1% multi-walled-carbon-nanotube-(MWCNT)-doped ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC)mixture KCFLC10S materials were studied in the 50 Hz to 1MHz frequency range at different bias voltages. An unusual behavior-increase of ε with increasing E was observed in both samples. It was found that although the relaxation mode was not observable in the MWCNT-FLC sample, the increased effect of the bias voltage on the FLC with the addition of MWCNTs is clearly visible. A theory is presented to explain this effect of MWCNTs in the FLC material.

Recent advances in CRISPR/Cas mediated genome editing for crop improvement

        Samriti Sharma,Rajinder Kaur,Anupama Singh 한국식물생명공학회 2017 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.11 No.4

Plant breeding is one of the oldest sustainable agriculture methods used to increase the yield, quality and other biomaterial for human use. Many crops like fruits, vegetables, ornamental flowers, shrubs and trees, have been long cultivated to satisfy human food and aesthetical needs. Conventional breeding technologies like selection, hybridization, mutation through physical and chemical methods, and modern transgenic approaches are often used to improve the desired traits without inducing the pleiotropic effects. But these breeding methods are highly laborious and complicated to enhance crop production. Recently, targeted genome editing through engineered nuclease including zinc finger nuclease, transcription activator like effector nuclease and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPRs) have been used to improve various traits in plants. Genome editing has emerged as a novel alternative approach to classical breeding with higher mutagenic efficiency. Here, we briefly cover the strengths of CRISPRs in comparison with other genome editing techniques. We also discuss its potential applications in genetic improvement of various crops and future prospective.

Cell thickness dependence of liquid crystal parameters

        Nitin Sood,Samriti Khosla,Darshan Singh,S.S. Bawa 한국정보디스플레이학회 2012 Journal of information display Vol.13 No.1

Ferroelectric liquid crystal parameters, spontaneous polarization, and transition temperature were studied as a function of cell thickness. These parameters were found to increase with increasing cell thickness, but an exception was observed for the transition temperature in the case of a thin cell. A simple Landau model is presented to interpret the theoretical and experimental observations. The anomalous behavior is attributed to the electroclinic effect and is explained using the Landau model.

Modification of the electrical parameters of CNT-doped deformed-helix ferro-electric liquid crystals

        Nitin Sood,Samriti Khosla,Darshan Singh,S.S. Bawa 한국정보디스플레이학회 2012 Journal of information display Vol.13 No.4

Liquid crystals are useful for a wide range of applications due to their exceptional properties. Doping of liquid crystals with carbon nanotubes (CNTs), even at very low concentrations, produces a detectable effect on the liquid crystal (LC) properties that can be very attractive for various functions. In this study, an attempt was made to investigate the effect of CNTs on the electrical properties of a short-pitch and high-spontaneous-polarization ferro-electric LC mixture, FLC-6304, at different temperatures. The inclusion of the CNTs significantly reduced the polarization at temperatures well within the SmC∗ phase, but the effect was gradually reversed as the transition temperature was approached. The insertion of the CNTs also reduced the response time and the rotational viscosity of the FLC mixture, which is highly desirable in the LCD industry.

Impact of the concentration of multiwall carbon nanotubes on polyaniline

        Suman Lal,S.K. Tripathi,Nitin Sood,Samriti Khosla 한국정보디스플레이학회 2014 Journal of information display Vol.15 No.3

In this paper, pure polyaniline (PANI) and its composites were synthesized with different concentrations of multiwall carbonnanotubes (MWCNTs), and their formation was characterized using different characterizing tools. The XRD pattern andscanning electron microscope images showed a homogeneous coating of the PANI on the MWCNTs, which indicated thedispersion of the carbon nanotubes into a polymer matrix. The Fourier transform infrared confirmed the interaction betweenthe MWCNTs and the PANI through a quinoid ring, which caused the PANI chains to be adsorbed on the surface of theMWCNT and formed a tubular core surrounded by MWCNTs. The UV spectroscopy data accounted for the lower opticalband gap of the PANI/MWCNT composites. The electrical transport properties of the different PANI/MWCNT compositeswere investigated using two-probe method techniques, which showed that the conductivity of the PANI/MWCNTcompositesincreased with increases in the concentration of the MWCNTs and the temperature. This enhancement in conductivity wasexplained on the basis of the band gap and charge transfer effect.

Synthesis, characterization and dielectric investigation of ZnO-doped polyaniline nanocomposites

        Suman Lal,Surya Kant Tripathi,Rajesh Kumar,Nitin Sood,Samriti Khosla 한국정보디스플레이학회 2015 Journal of information display Vol.16 No.1

Polyaniline (PANI) synthesized through the in situ polymerization method and its composites with zinc oxide nanoparticles loaded in various weight percentages were studied. The formation of PANI and its composites was characterized using different characterizing tools, and detailed analysis was done to investigate the structural and morphological properties of the composites. The presence of the vibration band of the metal oxide and other characteristic bands of the composites, as characterized via Fourier transmission infrared spectroscopy, confirmed the synthesis of the polymer nanocomposites. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the nanocomposites revealed their polycrystalline nature. The dielectric responses of PANI and the ZnO-doped PANI composites were investigated within the frequency range of 20 Hz to 1 MHz. The dielectric constant of the ZnO-doped PANI composite was found to be higher than that of the pure PANI. The value of the dielectric constant decreased with increasing frequency, and it became constant at higher frequencies, which is attributed to the interfacialpolarization.
