      • 미세플라스틱이 Pb 흡착 및 독성에 미치는 영향

        미세플라스틱은 5mm 이하 크기의 작은 플라스틱 조각이다. 농업 환경에서는 작물 재배를 위해 하우스용 비닐, 멀칭비닐과 같은 필름 형태의 플라스틱이 자주 이용되는데 이후 파편화되어 미세플라스틱이 된다. 기존 연구들은 생성된 미세플라스틱이 환경 오염물질을 흡착 및 전달할 수 있는 벡터 역할을 할 수 있다는 것을 보고하고 있고, 이에 미세플라스틱은 육상 환경에 큰 위협이 될 수 있다. 농업환경 주변에서 산업 활동이 이루어지면서 농경지 토양 및 농업용수가 중금속으로 오염될 수 있고, 이들의 거동은 미세플라스틱에 의해 영향을 받을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 식물생육에 필요하지 않은 비필수 원소 중 하나인 납(Pb)을 대상 물질로 선정하여, 미세플라스틱이 Pb의 거동에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 등온 흡착 실험을 진행하였다. 대상 미세플라스틱으로는 PE, PVC, PS pellet(<125 μm)을 사용하였다. Pb 용액을 0-10ppm의 농도로 제조하여 미세플라스틱이 담긴 튜브에 넣고 교반기에서 48시간 동안 흡착시킨 후 잔류 Pb 농도를 분석하여 결과를 Langmuir, Freundlich 흡착식에 적용하였다. 또한, 미세플라스틱에 흡착 후 Pb 용액의 독성 변화를 알아보기 위해 Microtox 분석을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 Pb가 미세플라스틱에 흡착될 수 있다는 것을 확인하였고, 미세플라스틱에 대한 흡착 후 Pb 용액의 독성이 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 이는 수계 내 오염물질에 의한 독성 영향이 미세플라스틱에 의해 영향을 받을 수 있음을 시사한다. 따라서 환경 중 미세플라스틱이 오염물질의 거동에 미치는 영향에 대한 더 많은 연구가 필요하다.

        바야흐로 그림책의 시대다. 그림책 독자, 작가, 시장 모두 크게 늘어나고 있다. 그림책이 어린이부터 노인까지 모든 세대가 함께 읽고 공감할 수 있는 문화 콘텐츠로서 세대 간에 소통의 기회를 제공하기 때문이다. 그림책이 텔레비전과 스마트기기로 인해 야기된 단절의 벽을 허물 수 있는 대안으로 부상한 것이다. 이에 도서관 사서들은 그림책 수서 방향의 원칙과 기준을 세움으로써 세대 간의 소통에 크게 기여할 수 있을 것이다. It’s time for picture books. Readers, authors and market of picture books are all increasing. The reason is that picture book itself is contents for all generations and provides opportunity for various generations to communicate and sympathize each other. Finally we have found the alternative replacement for TV and all the smart equipment, which have caused a generation gap. Librarians now can establish the standards and principles to acquire picture books which will contribute to communications between generations.

        日本中世說話文學における「不思議」話の一考察-『古今著聞集』を中心に

        日本における中世は、「説話文学」の宝庫である。しかし、個々の作品を見ると、その内容はあまりに多種多様で幅広い。この幅広い「説話文学」の領域を細分化するためには、個々の書物の性質を再確認する必要がある。 本稿では、日本三大説話集の一つである『古今著聞集』を中心に、その性質の一端を考察する。ここでは多用される語句に着目しており、それが「不思議」「不可思議」という語である。これらの語句は、「説話」の根本である「伝承」という点と深く関わるものと考え、これらの語が作品中にどのように用いられているか、またこれらの語は、どのような機能を持っているのかについて考察を加えた。 『古今著聞集』において、「不思議」「不可思議」の語は64話82例使用されている。これは総話数の約10%にあたる。この割合は、他の同時期に成立した説話集と比較しても高い数値である。 そもそも「不思議」という語は仏教語としての側面を持っており、「人知を超えた神秘的なもの。神仏の意向によって引き起こされる、人間の考えには及ばない出来事」という意を含んだもので、単なる「予想外」の意を示すものではない。 このような意を含む「不思議」という語を使用することで、『古今著聞集』は「伝承のエネルギー」を生み出し、くどい評語を付すことなく「教訓性を強める」ことに成功している。 「不思議」以外の語を用いて同様の話を展開しているものは、『古今著聞集』においても、そして他の説話集においても多く見られる。この手の話は「説話」というジャンルにとって、欠かせない要素であるということである。しかし、その中でも「不思議」という語は、神仏の意向という神秘的領域に踏み込む意を持つため、他の語よりも重みや深みを持ち、教訓性の強化等につながるというさらなる効果が期待できる語なのである。 このように、『古今著聞集』は「不思議」を用いた「不思議」話を展開することで読者をひきつけ、現在にまで読み継がれる説話集となった。また、「教訓書」としてではなく、話そのものの面白味を維持することに成功しており、後代の多くの作品に影響を及ぼす説話集となったのである。

      • Development of Remote Radar/AIS Network System for Observing and Analyzing Vessel Traffic in Tokyo Bay

        Accurate vessel traffic observation is indispensable to carry out vessel traffic management, design of vessel traffic route, planning of port construction, etc. In order to observe the vessel traffic accurately without many efforts such as the use of a ship or car equipped with special radar observation system and the preparation of observation staff, the authors have been developing completely automated remote radar/AIS network system covering the main traffic area in Tokyo Bay. The composite radar image observed at Yokosuka and Kawasaki radar stations with AIS information can be seen on web site of Internet. In addition to the development of radar/AIS observation system, the software to analyze observed vessel traffic flow has been developed. This software has various functions such as automatic tracking of ship’s positions, automatic estimation of ship’s size, automatic integration of radar image and AIS data, animation of ships’ movements, extraction of dangerous ship encounters, etc. The configuration and functions of the developed remote radar/AIS network system are shown first in this paper. Then various functions of the software to analyze vessel traffic are introduced, and some analyzed results on the vessel traffic in Tokyo Bay are described demonstrating the effectiveness of the developed system.

        DESIGN OF REGENERATIVE BRAKING SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE BASED ON SUPERCAPACITOR WITH FUZZY PID

        The Hybrid Electrical Energy Storage System (HESS) with supercapacitors in “GESITS” electric motorcycle offers greater power density and cycle life as well as a wider operating temperature range compared to batteries so as to maximize the existing regenerative braking features. In this study, the Four Switch Buck Boost Converter (FSBB) with Power Transfer is used as a current regulator to connect HESS. Fuzzy PID control is used to regulate the current that passes through the power transfer so that the braking force can be controlled based on the brake pull variable, vehicle speed and SOC supercapacitor. The results of the fuzzy control test with the MATLAB Fuzzy Designer obtained an average error of 1.44 %. While the results of the ITAE PID tuning method obtained a rise time of 3.33 seconds, a settling time of 3.11 seconds, an overshoot of 9.20 % and a steady state error of 2.20 %. From the results of the regenerative mode test, when given an input of 28-4 VDC, the average output voltage is 16.34 VDC with an average current of 8 A. While in the drive mode test with 28 VDC input, the average output voltage is 23.98 VDC and average current is 3.99 A with FSBB efficiency of 90.54 %.

        Method for Automated Selection of the Trabecular Area in Digital Periapical Radiographic Images Using Morphological Operations

        Objectives: The aim of this study is to propose a method that automatically select the trabecular bone area in digital periapical radiographic images using a sequence of morphological operations. Methods: The study involved 50 digital periapical radiographic images of women aged from 36 to 58 years old. The proposed method consists of three stages: teeth detection, trabecular identification, and validation. A series of morphological operations—top-hat and bottom-hat filtering, automatic thresholding, closing, labeling, global thresholding, and image subtraction—are performed to automatically obtain the trabecular bone area in images. For validation, the results of the proposed method were compared with those of two dentists pixel by pixel. Three parameters were used in the validation: trabecular area, percentage of agreed area, and percentage of disagreed area. Results: The proposed method obtains the trabecular bone area in a polygon. The obtained trabecular bone area is usually larger than that of previous studies, but is usually smaller than the dentists’. On average over all images, the trabecular area produced by the proposed method is 5.83% smaller than that identified by dentists. Furthermore, the average percentage of agreed area and the average percentage of disagreed area of the proposed method against the dentists’ results were 75.22% and 8.75%, respectively. Conclusions: The shape of the trabecular bone area produced by the proposed method is similar and closer to that identified by dentists. The method, which consists of only simple morphological operations on digital periapical radiographic images, can be considered for selecting the trabecular bone area automatically.

      • Hydrolysis of Waste Cooking Oil in Sub-critical Water Condition

        Hydrolysis of triacylglycerol(TAG) from fats and oils to glycerol and free fatty acid (FFA), also referred to as fat splitting, is an important reaction for the olechemical industry. Typically, hydrolysis is carried out at 100-260℃ and 100-7000 kPa using 0.4-0.15(w/w) initial water to oil ratio with or without catalysts. It is an endothermic reaction occurs in a stepwise manner where TAG is initially hydrolyzed to diacyglycerol (DAG) then to monoacylglycerol (MAG) and finally to glycerol. Water, in its subcritical state, can be used as both a solvent and reactant for the hydrolysis of triglycerides. subcritical water (150℃<T<370℃, 0.4<p<22Mpa) can act as an acid or base catalyst. To investigate milder reaction conditions, in this study, waste cooking oil and fresh soybean oils will be hydrolyzed to free fatty acids with deionized water under SC CO<sub>2</sub> medium in a batch reactor. Effects of the reaction temperature, time and solvent to feed ratio on FFA in the hydroysis at equilibrium will also observed for optimum conversion of oil. The reaction products will be analyzed by acid-base titration, GC FID and HPLC.

        A pilot study of half-value layer measurements using a semiconductor dosimeter for intraoral radiography

        Purpose: This pilot study was conducted to evaluate half-value layer (HVL) measurements obtained using a semiconductor dosimeter for intraoral radiography. Materials and Methods: This study included 8 aluminum plates, 4 of which were low-purity (less than 99.9%) and 4 high-purity (greater than 99.9%). Intraoral radiography was performed using an intraoral X-ray unit in accordance with the dental protocol at the authors' affiliated hospital: tube voltage, 60 kVp and 70 kVp; tube current, 7 mA; and exposure time, 0.10 s. The accuracy of HVL measurements for intraoral radiography was assessed using a semiconductor dosimeter. A simple regression analysis was performed to compare the aluminum plate thickness and HVL in relation to the tube voltage (60 kVp and 70 kVp) and aluminum purity (low and high). Results: For the low-purity aluminum plates, the HVL at 60 kVp (Y) and 70 kVp (Y) was significantly correlated with the thickness of the aluminum plate (X), with Y=1.708+0.415X (r=0.999, P<0.05) and Y=1.980+0.484X (r=0.999, P<0.05), respectively. Similarly, for the high-purity aluminum plates, the HVL at 60 kVp (Y) and 70 kVp (Y) was significantly correlated with the plate thickness(X), with Y=1.696+0.454X (r=0.999, P<0.05) and Y=1.968+0.515X (r=0.998, P<0.05), respectively. Conclusion: This pilot study examined the relationship between aluminum plate thickness and HVL measurements using a semiconductor dosimeter for intraoral radiography. Semiconductor dosimeters may prove useful in HVL measurement for purposes such as quality assurance in dental X-ray imaging.
