The antioxidant property of cultured mycelia of Phellinus baumii was investigated. The water-soluble extract isolated from these mycelia showed intracellular reactive oxygen species, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and lipid peroxidation inhibitory activities. This radical scavenging activity of extract protected cell viability of Chinese hamster lung fibroblast (V79-4) cells exposed to H2O2. Furthermore, water extract reduced the apoptotic cells induced by H2O2, as demonstrated by the decreased number of sub G1 hypo-diploid cells and apoptotic body formation and it increased the activities of cellular antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase and catalase. Taken together, these findings suggest that mycelia of P. baumii exhibit antioxidant property. (Cancer Prev Res 11, 329-335, 2006)

Four hydroxybenzamide derivatives were synthesized from protocatechuic acid. The antioxidant activities of these derivatives were evaluated in vitro using DPPH radical scavenging and reducing power assays. In addition, these compounds were subjected to a chromogenic thrombin-inhibitory assay using Chromozym-TH as the substrate. The anticancer effects of these derivatives were also investigated using the MTT assay in three human cancer cell lines. Four derivatives exhibited excellent DPPH radical scavenging activity and redox potential. Their highly inhibitory effect against thrombin may allow them to be utilized as novel micromolecule thrombin inhibitors. Furthermore, four derivatives demonstrated different inhibitory activities in three human cancer cell lines but showed minimal harmful effects on normal HUVEC cells. Therefore, hydroxybenzamide derivatives indicate the superior antioxidant, thrombin-inhibitory, and anticancer activities along with the excellent biocompatibility, which have the potential application in therapeutic interventions and disease prevention of cancer, thrombotic diseases, and aging.
The Investigation on Thermal Aging Characteristics of Oil-Paper Insulation in Bushing

Bushing is the key link to connect outer and inner insulating systems and also the essential electric accessory in electric power system, especially in the high voltage engineering (AC 1000kV, DC 800kV). This paper presented the experimental research of thermal aging characteristic of oilpaper insulation used in bushing. A thermally accelerated aging experiment at 90℃ was performed. The bushing models containing five layers of paper were sealed into the aging vessels and further aged for 250 days. Then several important parameters associated with the aging were observed and evaluated. The results showed that the degree of polymerization (DP) of papers gradually decreased. The DP values of outermost layer and middle layer fit well into the second-order kinematic model and first-order kinematic model, respectively. Less deterioration speed of the inter-layer paper than outer layer was confirmed by the variation of DP. Hydrolysis was considered as the main cause to this phenomenon. In addition, the logarithm of the furfural concentrations in insulation oil was found to have good linear relationship with DP of papers. Interestingly, when the aging time is about 250 days and DP is 419, the aging process reaches an inflection point at which the DP approaches the leveling off degree of polymerization (LODP) value. Both tanδ and acid number of oils increased, while surface and volume resistivity of papers decreased. The obtained results demonstrated that thermal aging and moisture absorbed in papers brought great influence to the degradation of insulating paper, leading to rapid decrease of DP and increase of the tanδ . Thus, the bushing should be avoided from damp and real-time monitoring to the variation of tanδ and DP values of paper is an effective way to evaluate the insulation status of bushing.
Morphology Control of Tungsten Oxide Thin Films in an Aerosol Flame Deposition System

<P>Tungsten oxide thin film has been found great potential use in various applications such as smart window, gas sensor and photoelectrochemical cell due to their unique electrochromic, gas-chromic and electrochemical properties. The thin film morphology has been considered as an efficient limiting aspect for its performance. In this work, we successfully prepared tungsten oxide thin films with distinctive nanostructures on conductive glass in a flame vapor deposition process. The morphology of tungsten oxide thin films could be controlled by adjusting various process variables, including methane-oxygen ratio, deposition height and support substrate temperature. 1-D nanowires and nanotubes could be obtained in fuel rich flame at high substrate support temperature and 3-D nanocolumns could be easily formed in fuel lean flame. This work offers a rapid, economic approach for the growth of tungsten oxide thin film with controlled morphology.</P>

본 논문에서는 홀로그램을 이용하여 워터마크 정보를 확산시키고 이미지의 특성을 분석하여 홀로그램을 양자화하여 비가시성을 높여주는 이미지 워터마킹 알고리즘을 제안하고 있다. 워터마크는 QR코드로 생성하고 이 코드를 홀로그램을 취한 후 이미지의 특성을 분석하여 양자화를 한다. 홀로그램을 시드값 β로 DFRNT변환을 함으로써 보안성을 확보하고 2level-DWT도메인에 삽입함으로써 강인성을 가진다. In this paper, we propose an image watermarking algorithm that uses adaptive hologram quantization to spread the watermark information invisible and analyze the cover image detail. The watermark is generated by hologram by with a QR code including information and for adapting quantize it based on analyzing the cover image. We transform the hologram by a discrete fractional random transform with a random seed. We use the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) to transform the cover image and embed the watermark into subbands. The proposed algorithm is robust and security because of the watermark is embedded in the frequency domain and the watermark cannot decode without the security key . random seed. Many conventional methods are used to watermarking method with flat image have poor invisibility in the boundary region, but the proposed algorithm can supplement it.

<P>Tungsten oxide thin films have been found as an active visible light driven photoanode material for photoelectrochemical water splitting due to its good stability in aqueous solution and energetically favorable valence band position for water oxidation. Morphology control, which determines the performance of WO3 photoanode, is one of most focuses of recent research interests. In this work, we successfully prepared monoclinic WO3 thin films on ITO glass at low range of substrate temperature with a fabrication rate around 100 nm per minute by using aerosol flame deposition process. Single crystal nanocolumns with both triangular pyramid-like and triangular prism-like structure were obtained at certain process conditions. Photoelectrochemical properties of photoelectrodes assembled with both structured WO3 thin films were investigated. The prism-like nanocolumn-structured thin film generated the current density of 1.58 mAcm(-2) at potential of 1.0 V versus Ag/AgCl in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution under illumination of AM 1.5 simulated solar light (100 mVcm(-2)). It presented superior photoelectrochemical performance to pyramid-like nanocolumn-structured WO3 thin film.</P>
