The fatty acid composition and small molecular metabolites in breast and leg meat of Yanjin blackbone chickens (YBC) and Piao chickens (PC) were detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-quadrupole static field orbital trap mass spectrometry. Thirty-two fatty acids were detected, and the total fatty acid content of PC was significantly higher than that of YBC (p<0.05). Oleic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and arachidonic acid were the main fatty acids in the two chicken varieties, and the composition of fatty acids in the two varieties were mainly unsaturated fatty acids, being more than 61.10% of the total fatty acids. Meanwhile, 12 and 16 compounds were screened out from chicken legs and chicken breasts of YBC and PC, respectively, which had important contributions to the differences between groups.

Objective: To examine the potential of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) and blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) magnetic resonance imaging for detecting renal changes after iodinated contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) development in a diabetic rabbit model. Materials and Methods: Sixty-two rabbits were randomized into 2 groups: diabetic rabbits with the contrast agent (DCA) and healthy rabbits with the contrast agent (NCA). In each group, 6 rabbits underwent IVIM and BOLD imaging at 1 hour, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, and 4 days after an iohexol injection while 5 rabbits were selected to undergo blood and histological examinations at these specific time points. Iohexol was administrated at a dose of 2.5 g I/kg of body weight. Further, the apparent transverse relaxation rate (R2*), average pure molecular diffusion coefficient (D), pseudo-diffusion coefficient (D*), and perfusion fraction (f) were calculated. Results: The D and f values of the renal cortex (CO) and outer medulla (OM) were significantly decreased compared to baseline values in the 2 groups 1 day after the iohexol injection (p < 0.05). A marked reduction in the D* values for both the CO and OM was also observed after 1 hour in each group (p < 0.05). In the OM, a persistent elevation of the R2* was detected for 4 days in the DCA group (p < 0.05). Histopathological changes were prominent, and the pathological features of CI-AKI aggravated in the DCA group until day 4. The D, f, and R2* values significantly correlated with the histological damage scores, hypoxiainducible transcription factor-1α expression scores, and serum creatinine levels. Conclusion: A combination of IVIM and BOLD imaging may serve as a noninvasive method for detecting and monitoring CIAKI in the early stages in the diabetic kidney.

Abstract

A novel electrospinning approach is proposed for the fabrication of copper (Cu)-nanoflower decorated gold nanoparticles (AuNPs)-graphene oxide (GO) nanofiber (NF) as an electrochemical biosensor for the glucose detection. In this study, GO was mixed with poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and used as a fiber precursor, which greatly improves the electrochemical properties. The above solution was uniformly coated onto the surfaces of gold chip to form GO NFs via electrospinning. AuNPs were coated onto the surface of GO NFs and then incorporated organic-inorganic hybrid nanoflower [Cu nanoflower-glucose oxidase (GOx) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP)]. The electrochemical experiments revealed that Cu-nanoflower@AuNPs-GO NFs exhibited outstanding electrochemical catalytic nature, and selectivity for the conversion of glucose to gluconic acid in the presence of GOx-HRP-Cu nanoflower. The Cu-nanoflower@AuNPs-GO NFs coated Au chip exhibited good linear range 0.001–0.1 mM, with a detection limit of 0.018 μM. The Cu-nanoflower@AuNPs-GO NFs modified Au chip exhibited higher catalytic properties, which are attributed to the coating of unique organic-inorganic nanostructured materials on the surfaces of Au chip. These results indicate that the nano-bio hybrid materials can be applied as a promising electrochemical biosensor to monitor glucose levels in biofluids.

Highlights

Graphene oxide (GO)/polyvinyl alcohol nanofiber (NF) as an electrochemical sensor.

One-step synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid nanoflower for glucose detection.

Cu-nanoflower@gold nanoparticles-GO NFs for electrochemical biosensing of glucose.

The modified gold chip exhibited a low detection limit of 0.018 μM for glucose.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]
