Polynomial complexity of primal-dual interior-point methods for convex quadratic programming
Zhongyi Liu,Wenyu Sun,Raimundo J.B. de Sampaio,J.B. DE SAMPAIO 한국전산응용수학회 2009 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.27 No.3
Recently, Peng et al. proposed a primal-dual interior-point method with new search direction and self-regular proximity for LP. This new large-update method has the currently best theoretical performance with polynomial complexity of O(n<수식> log <수식>). In this paper we use this search direction to propose a primal-dual interior-point method for con- vex quadratic programming (QP). We overcome the difficulty in analyz- ing the complexity of the primal-dual interior-point methods for convex quadratic programming, and obtain the same polynomial O(n<수식> log <수식>) for convex quadratic programming. Liu, Zhongyi,Sun, Wenyu,De Sampaio, Raimundo J.B. The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2009 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.27 No.3
Recently, Peng et al. proposed a primal-dual interior-point method with new search direction and self-regular proximity for LP. This new large-update method has the currently best theoretical performance with polynomial complexity of O($n^{\frac{q+1}{2q}}\;{\log}\;{\frac{n}{\varepsilon}}$). In this paper we use this search direction to propose a primal-dual interior-point method for convex quadratic programming (QP). We overcome the difficulty in analyzing the complexity of the primal-dual interior-point methods for convex quadratic programming, and obtain the same polynomial complexity of O($n^{\frac{q+1}{2q}}\;{\log}\;{\frac{n}{\varepsilon}}$) for convex quadratic programming.
Acute and Sub-Chronic Toxicity of Aqueous Extracts of Chenopodium ambrosioides Leaves in Rats
Marcel Gianni C. da Silva,Raimundo Neilson L. Amorim,Câmara, José Domingues Fontenele Neto,Benito Soto-Blanco 한국식품영양과학회 2014 Journal of medicinal food Vol.17 No.9
The present study aimed to evaluate the toxicity of aqueous extract of Chenopodium ambrosioides leaves. To measure acute toxicity, rats were administered 0, 0.3, 1.0, or 3.0 g/kg of aqueous extract from C. ambrosioides leaves by gavage. To analyze sub-chronic toxicity, rats were treated by oral gavage for 15 consecutive days with 0, 0.3, or 1.0 g/kg of extract of C. ambrosioides leaves. No animals from either trial exhibited any signs of toxicity. In the acute study, the highest dose of the extract led to an increase in the serum activities of alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) and a decrease in the serum levels of urea. In the sub-chronic test, rats treated with 1.0 g/kg for 15 days exhibited increased serum ALT activity and creatinine levels and mild cytoplasmic vacuolation of hepatocytes. The results indicate that aqueous extract from C. ambrosioides leaves produce slight hepatotoxic lesions in rats.

A partial factors methodology for structural safety assessment in non-linear analysis
Paula M. R. P. Castro,Raimundo M. Delgado,Jose M. A. Cesar de Sa 한국계산역학회 2005 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.2 No.1
In the present structural codes the safety verification is based on a linear analysis of the structure and the satisfaction of ultimate and serviceability limit states, using a semi-probabilistic security format through the consideration of partial safety factors, which affect the action values and the characteristic values of the material properties. In this context, if a non-linear structural analysis is wanted a difficulty arises, because the global safety coefficient, which could be obtained in a straightforward way from the non-linear analysis, is not directly relatable to the different safety coefficient values usually used for the different materials, as is the case for reinforced concrete structures. The work here presented aims to overcome this difficulty by proposing a methodology that generalises the format of safety verification based on partial safety factors, well established in structural codes within the scope of linear analysis, for cases where non-linear analysis is needed. The methodology preserves the principal assumptions made in the codes as well as a reasonable simplicity in its use, including a realistic definition of the material properties and the structural behaviour, and it is based on the evaluation of a global safety coefficient. Some examples are presented aiming to clarify and synthesise all the options that were taken in the application of the proposed methodology, namely how to transpose the force distributions obtained with a non-linear analysis into design force distributions. One of the most important features of the proposed methodology, the ability for comparing the simplified procedures for second order effects evaluation prescribed in the structural codes, is also presented in a simple and systematic way. The potential of the methodology for the development and assessment of alternative and more accurate procedures to those already established in codes of practice, where non-linear effects must be considered, is also indicated.

Optimization of 2-propanol oxidation over CuMnmCo2-mO4 nanospinels was carried out by a split design method. 15-term model was proposed to fit the experimental data. The model revealed that both whole plot and subplot variables have significant effects on conversion of 2-propanol. The model predicted the interaction of subplot and whole plot variables as well as their importance. The maximum conversion of 2-propanol was observed over CuMn2O4 (x1 = 0.33, x2 = 0, x3 = 0.67) at calcination and reaction temperatures of 800 8C (z1 = 1) and 300 8C (z2 = 1), respectively. The predicted response and the response obtained from experiment for optimum conditions were 93.36 and 96, respectively.
Performance of Bemisia tabaci MEAM1 on soybean and resistance traits of cultivars
Carolina Farias e Silva Maria,de Sousa Rodrigues Arielly,Henrique Ferreira Rodrigues Raimundo,Ettore Pavan Bruno,Barboza Silva Luciana 한국응용곤충학회 2023 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.26 No.2
Bemisia tabaci MEAM1, known as whitefly, poses a significant threat to soybean crops worldwide. To develop effective pest management strategies, it is crucial to understand how this insect pest performs on different soybean cultivars and identify resistance traits in these cultivars. This study aimed to assess the biological development of B. tabaci MEAM1 and the performance of five consecutive whitefly generations on various soybean cultivars to determine the stability of resistance across multiple insect generations. Additionally, the study aimed to estimate genetic parameters associated with resistance traits. To conduct the experiment, twenty individuals of B. tabaci were released and confined within cages attached to soybean leaf petioles. The experi ment followed a completely randomized design with eleven treatments and five replicates. The emerging insects from the bioassay were confined to plants of their respective cultivars. This process was repeated for five consecutive generations of whiteflies to evaluate the cultivars’ ability to exhibit resistance across multiple generations of the pest. The results showed that the cultivars M 8808 and AS 3810 had a negative impact on B. tabaci oviposition. Additionally, the cultivar BRS 9280 influenced the development of the insect. Based on the selection index, cultivars BRS 9280, AS 3810, M 8808, and BRS 8383 exhibited resistance traits. Furthermore, cultivars BRS 9280, AS 3810, and M 8808 demonstrated resistance characteristics consistently over five gen erations when subjected to whitefly pressure. These cultivars can be considered valuable sources of resistance against B. tabaci MEAM1 for breeding programs aimed at developing resistant soybean cultivars.
