      • P2P 캐싱을 기반으로 한 효율적인 브로드캐스트 스트리밍 기법

        Video-on-Demand is undoubtedly a promising technology for many important applications. Several periodic broadcast techniques have been proposed for the cost-effective implementation of such systems. However, there is a server delay for all of them. To address the shortcoming, we present a new scheme improving the staggered broadcasting by jointly using prefix caching scheme of VOD system in P2P environments. In thins paper, each client plays a role in the first segment staggered broadcasting server to serve the prefix stream to other clients that request the same video stream. The buffer can be empty after the client has served the following client. As a result, we are able to achieve no service latency time and the low buffer space.

      • Plenary Session : Small Cell Carcinoma of The Esophagus: Analysis of 126 Cases

        Background/Aims: Small cell carcinoma of the esophagus (ESCC) is a rare and aggressive tumor with early wide-spread dissemination. Although the rarity of this tumor has impeded statistical evaluation. We reviewed records of 5.164 esophageal cancer patients treated in Shijiazhuang Municipal No.1 Hospital and Hebei tumor hospital from May, 1996 to Dec. 2006. Of 5.164 cases, 126 patients were diagnosed ESOC, with a relative frequency of 2.44%. This is one of the largest single institution series in the world literature. The purpose of this study was to analyze the clinical manifestations, pathological features and treatment of primary small cell carcinoma of the esophagus. Methods: The records of 126 patients with primary esophageal small cell carcinoma were reviewed to summarize the clinical characteristics and impact of therapy modality on the survival. Results: The median survival time of the 102 patients was 16.2 months; the 1-, 2-, and 3-year survival rates were 64.7%, 32.4%, and 9.8% respectively, 59 of the cases were followed up to exceed 5 years. Of the 59 cases, only 3 survival time were exceeded 5 years. Clinical stage was the most important prognostic factor. The median survival time of the patients received local treatment (surgical operation or radiotherapy) was 14.5 months and 9.1 mouths respectively, the 1-, 2-, 3-year survival rates were 45.8%, 27.3%, and 6.3% in local treatment cases respectively. The median survival time of the patients received local treatment plus chemotherapy were 18.0 months; the 1-, 2-, 3-year survival rates were 69.0%, 36.2%, and 10.3%, respectively. Conclusions: Small cell carcinoma of the esophagus should be regarded as a systemic disease, and multimodality treatment, including chemotherapy, should be used. Surgery may be offered in selected patients to manage local disease as part a chemotherapy-based treatment program. ESCC is a very aggressive tumor with poor prognosis.

        A Hierarchical Multicast Routing Protocol based on Zone Routing Technique for Wireless multi-hop Network

        멀티캐스트 라우팅은 무선 다중 홉 네트워크에서 일대다 통신을 위하여 많은 영역에서 이용되며 멀티캐스트 그룹 멤버에게 효율적이고 공평한 통신 환경을 마련한다. 하지만 그룹 멤버의 통신 관리, 각 전송 경로간의 신호간섭 등 요인은 멀티캐스트 소스 노드에게 비교적 큰 부하를 발생시키고 전체 멀티캐스팅의 효율을 저하시킨다. 본 논문에서는 "지역 기반의 계층적 멀티캐스트 라우팅 기법"이라고 하는 새로운 라우팅 기법을 제안하였다. 이 라우팅 기법은 지역 기반 라우팅 프로토콜의 속성을 기반으로 프로액티브 라우팅 기법을 지역 내부 노드 레벌의 멀티캐스팅에서, 리액티브 라우팅 기법을 지역 레벌의 경로 설정에 적용하여 설계하였다. 계층적이고 독립적인 멀티캐스팅이 서로 분리된 지역에서 작동함으로서 멀티캐스트 소스 노드의 부하를 분산시켰고 다중 경로사이의 신호 간섭을 최대한 회피하여 이상적인 멀티캐스트 전송률을 실현할 수 있었다. In wireless multi-hop network, many applications need multicast communication where the group leader needs to send data to all members of the group. Multicast routing provides a balanced, efficient, and fairness network environment for the group members. However, large load for transmission management to leader node and signal interference between several paths for multi-hop links always took long transmission delay and low throughput efficiency. In this paper, we propose a Zone-based Hierarchical Multicast Routing Protocol (ZHMP). This routing protocol is designed based on zone routing schemes, where proactive routing is applied for intra-zone node level multicasting and reactive routing is used for searching inter-zone paths. By each hierarchical and independent multicast working in separated zones, load of multicast source node will be distributed by several zone-level routings for a better load balance and signal interference between each multi-hop paths will be resisted for a maximum multicast throughput.

      • P2P 환경하에서 VOD 시스템을 위한 시간 기반 캐싱 기법

        본 논문은 P2P 네트워크 환경에서 대규모 VOD 시스템을 위한 새로운 시간 기반 캐싱 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 캐싱 기법은 각 피어들이 요구 시작 시간을 기준으로 비디오의 서로 다른 부분을 분산 저장 관리함으로써 피어의 저장 용량을 최소화하고, 피어간 데이터 요구에 대한 캐시 적중률을 향상시켜 서버의 부하를 최소화 한다. 또한 요구 시간을 기준으로 인접한 피어들을 하나의 클러스터로 그룹핑하여 피어의 탐색 법위를 최소화하고, 이에 따른 네트워크 트래픽을 최소화 한다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 성능 평가에서 피어의 참여와 탈퇴 중가에 따른 서버 부하의 증가가 기존의 P2VOD와 비교하여 크게 감소함을 보인다.

        Impact of a Glyphosate-Tolerant Soybean Line on the Rhizobacteria, Revealed by Illumina MiSeq

        The global commercial cultivation of transgenic crops, including glyphosate-tolerant soybean, has increased widely in recent decades with potential impact on the environment. The bulk of previous studies showed different results on the effects of the release of transgenic plants on the soil microbial community, especially rhizosphere bacteria. In this study, comparative analyses of the bacterial communities in the rhizosphere soils and surrounding soils were performed between the glyphosate-tolerant soybean line NZL06-698 (or simply N698), containing a glyphosate-insensitive EPSPS gene, and its control cultivar Mengdou12 (or simply MD12), by a 16S ribosomal RNA gene (16S rDNA) amplicon sequencing-based Illumina MiSeq platform. No statistically significant difference was found in the overall alpha diversity of the rhizosphere bacterial communities, although the species richness and evenness of the bacteria increased in the rhizosphere of N698 compared with that of MD12. Some influence on phylogenetic diversity of the rhizosphere bacterial communities was found between N698 and MD12 by beta diversity analysis based on weighted UniFrac distance. Furthermore, the relative abundances of part rhizosphere bacterial phyla and genera, which included some nitrogen-fixing bacteria, were significantly different between N698 and MD12. Our present results indicate some impact of the glyphosate-tolerant soybean line N698 on the phylogenetic diversity of rhizosphere bacterial communities together with a significant difference in the relative abundances of part rhizosphere bacteria at different classification levels as compared with its control cultivar MD12, when a comparative analysis of surrounding soils between N698 and MD12 was used as a systematic contrast study.

        Directional crossover slime mould algorithm with adaptive Lévy diversity for the optimal design of real-world problems

        The slime mould algorithm (SMA) has become a classical algorithm applied in many fields since it was presented. Nevertheless, when faced with complex tasks, the algorithm converges slowly and tends to fall into the local optimum. So, there is still room for improvement in the performance of SMA. This work proposes a novel SMA variant (SDSMA), combining the adaptive Lévy diversity mechanism and directional crossover mechanism. Firstly, the adaptive Lévy diversity mechanism can improve population diversity. Then, the directional crossover mechanism can enhance the balance of exploration and exploitation, thus helping SDSMA to increase the convergence speed and accuracy. SDSMA is compared with SMA variants, original algorithms, improved algorithms, improved-SMAs, and others on the benchmark function set to verify its performance. Meanwhile, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, the Friedman test, and other analytical methods are considered to analyze the experimental results. The analysis results show that SDSMA with two strategies significantly improves the performance of SMA. Meanwhile, the computational cost of SDSMA is smaller than that of SMA on benchmark function. Finally, the proposed algorithm is applied to three real-world engineering design problems. The experiments prove that SDSMA is an effective aid tool for computationally complex practical tasks.

        Influence of Mist Intervals and Aeration Rate on Growth and Second Metabolite Production of Pseudostellaria heterophylla Adventitious Roots in a Siphon-mist Bioreactor

        Plant adventitious root culture in bioreactors is a promising alternative for the efficient production of medicinal herbs. Adventitious roots of Pseudostellaria heterophylla were induced from callus and then cultivated in a siphon-mist bioreactor. An orthogonal test established that the optimal medium for adventitious root induction was MS medium supplemented with 1.0 mg/L naphthaleneacetic acid and 2.0 mg/L 3-indolybutyric acid. Under these conditions, the average root number was more than 14 on each 1.0 cm diameter callus and the rooting rate reached 100%. The bioreactor was equipped with an integral siphon-spraying device designed to automatically supply the liquid medium. The operation parameters of the bioreactor were assessed by varying the mist interval and the aeration velocity. The mist interval was negatively related to average growth rate of the adventitious roots and positively related to saponin and polysaccharide content. A relatively high aeration rate was necessary to achieve the maximum biomass production, but the secondary metabolite production was not enhanced by increasing the aeration velocity.

      • 콘텐츠 신디케이션 기술을 이용한 IPTV 응용 프로그램 설계 및 구현

        최근 주문형 비디오(Video on Demand; VOD)를 중심으로 IPTV 서비스가 시행되고 있으며, 이는 FTTH와 같이 통신 속도의 발전에 따라 더욱 수요가 급증될 것이다. 이러한 수요에 맞춰 본 논문은 콘텐츠 신디케이션 기술인 RSS, ATOM을 이용한 IPTV 상에서의 응용 서비스를 개발한다. 개발된 응용 서비스는 콘텐츠 신디케이션 기술을 통하여 웹상의 XML 콘텐츠를 해석하고, 이를 IPTV 상의 TV 어플리케이션 기법을 이용하여 서비스하게 된다 개발된 응용 서비스 방식은 전체 내용을 지원하는 콘텐츠 신디케이션 방식이라면 어디나 서비스가 가능하며 사용자의 입력을 통해 사용자의 요구에 부합하는 콘텐츠를 제공받을 수 있게 한다.
