        한국어 접속어미의 의미

        윤평현(Yoon Pyeonghyeon) 한국어학회 2002 한국어학 Vol.17 No.-

Suppositive expression is that speakers state an event in believing that the event is true temporarily regardless of the truth or falsehood of events. This study is to choose those conjunctive endings with semantic properties of supposition among conjunctive endings in modern Korean and to examine the suppositive expression of Korean conjunctive sentences by those endings. Moreover, the suppositive expressions are classified as (1), (2), and (3) based upon the semantic characteristics of conjunctive endings. (1) The classification according to time of events; there are three types of suppositions, that is, a supposition of super-time event, a supposition of future event, and a supposition of past event. The supposition of super-time event is to be stated without care of the prior events or posterior events. The supposition of future event is that events in possible world are stated in advance like events in real world. And the supposition of past event is that past events are stated with suppositive attitude. (2) The classification according to possibility of realization of events; there are two types of suppositions, that is, a realistic supposition and an anti-realistic supposition. The realistic supposition is that speakers have faith in possibilities of realization about events. On the other hand, the anti-realistic supposition is that speakers think the events have no possibilities of realization or anti-events against the truth are supposed. (3) The classification according to limited scope of events; there are two types of suppositions, that is, a c1osed supposition and an open supposition. The closed supposition is that the surface meaning in preceding clause with conjunctive endings, ‘-(eu)myeon, -geodeun, -deondeul, -(eu)ljindae, -eoya/aya, -daganeun, -eoseoneun/aseoneun is supposed. And the open supposition is that both of the implicational meaning and surface meaning in conjunctive sentence are supposed. These open conjunctive endings are ‘-eodo/ado, -deorado, -(eu)ndeul, -(eu)ljieonjeong, -(eu)lmangjeong’.
