Applying Mobile Agent to a Mobile Stock Intermediary Services System Development
Wen-Hsiung Wu,Po-Chang Ko,Ping-Chen Lin,Ming-Hua Su 보안공학연구지원센터 2008 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.2 No.2
Due to the radical changing of the global economy, a more precise stock valuation helps providing important judgment principles to decision-makers and investors. With the advent of the third-generation (3G) or future forth-generation (4G) Internet, the mobile commerce (MCommerce) will become increasingly important. In addition, the mobile stock investment decision support system attracts great interests for professionals, such as stockholders, bondholders, financial analysts, governmental officials, and even the general public, recently. This study introduces a Mobile Agent-based Stock Intermediary Services System (MASISS) framework based on the mobile agent perspective to provide ubiquitous and seamless transaction activities for financial institutions. It also helps customers to make a more precise decision in the current intense commercial competition environment. For building distributed enterprise systems, The MASISS framework is developed in an integration of J2ME and J2EE environment with cross-platform portability, a huge server-side and client-side deployment base, and coverage for most W3C standards..
Effect of Reynolds number on compressible convex-corner flows
Chung, Kung-Ming,Chang, Po-Hsiung,Chang, Keh-Chin Techno-Press 2014 Advances in aircraft and spacecraft science Vol.1 No.4
An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effect of Reynolds number on compressible convex-corner flows, which correspond to an upper surface of a deflected flap of an aircraft wing. The flow is naturally developed along a flat plate with two different lengths, resulting in different incoming boundary layer thicknesses or Reynolds numbers. It is found that boundary layer Reynolds number, ranging from $8.04{\times}10^4$ to $1.63{\times}10^5$, has a minor influence on flow expansion and compression near the corner apex in the transonic flow regime, but not for the subsonic expansion flow. For shock-induced separated flow, higher peak pressure fluctuations are observed at smaller Reynolds number, corresponding to the excursion phenomena and the shorter region of shock-induced boundary layer separation. An explicit correlation of separation length with deflection angle is also presented.

Objective Several cell line studies have demonstrated thioridazine’s anticancer, multidrug resistance-reversing and apoptosis-inducing properties in various tumors. We conducted this nationwide population-based study to investigate the association between thioridazine use and cancer risk among adult patients with schizophrenia. Methods Based on the Psychiatric Inpatient Medical Claim of the National Health Insurance Research Database of Taiwan, a total of 185,689 insured psychiatric patients during 2000 to 2005 were identified. After excluding patients with prior history of schizophrenia, only 42,273 newly diagnosed patients were included. Among them, 1,631 patients ever receiving thioridazine for more than 30 days within 6 months were selected and paired with 6,256 randomly selected non-thioridazine controls. These patients were traced till 2012/12/31 to see if they have any malignancy. Results The incidence rates of hypertension and cerebrovascular disease were higher among cases than among matched controls. The incidence of hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease and chronic pulmonary disease did not differ between the two groups. By using Cox proportional hazard model for cancer incidence, the crude hazard ratio was significantly higher in age, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cerebrovascular disease, coronary artery disease and chronic pulmornary disease. However, after adjusting for other covariates, only age and hypertension remained significant. Thioridazine use in adult patients with schizophrenia had no significant association with cancer. Conclusion Despite our finding that thioridazine use had no prevention in cancer in adult patients with schizophrenia. Based on the biological activity, thioridazine is a potential anticancer drug and further investigation in human with cancer is warranted.
