Piyush Khairnar Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2023 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.12 No.2
Typical floor systems in contemporary tall buildings consist of reinforced concrete or composite metal deck over framing members and account for a majority of the structural weight of the building. The use of high-density materials, such as reinforced concrete and steel, increases the weight of floor systems, reducing the system's overall efficiency. With the introduction of high-performance materials, mainly mass timber products, and fiber-reinforced composites, in the construction industry, designers and engineers have multiple options to choose from when selecting structural materials. This paper discusses the application of mass timber and carbon fiber composites as structural materials in floor systems of tall buildings. The research focused on a comparative analysis of the structural system efficiency for five different design options for tall building floor systems. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method was adopted to develop a simulation framework, and parametric structural models were simulated to evaluate the structural performance under specific loading conditions. Simulation results revealed the advantages of lightweight structural materials to improve system efficiency and reduce material consumption. The impact of mechanical properties of materials, loading conditions, and issues related to fire engineering and construction were briefly discussed, and future research topics were identified in conclusion.
68Ga-DOTA-RGD2 Uptake in Plantar Fasciitis: New Insights into its Pathogenesis
Piyush Aggarwal,Singh Harmandeep,Kumar Rajender,Aman Sharma 대한핵의학회 2022 핵의학 분자영상 Vol.56 No.3
Plantar fasciitis is chronic degenerative tendinopathy of the plantar fascia. Although it has many treatment modalities, none has been very effective due to the largely unknown pathogenesis of this condition. 68Ga-DOTA-RGD2 has an upcoming role in assessing disease activity and treatment response in rheumatoid arthritis. In the present case, we demonstrate the potential role of angiogenesis imaging in understanding the pathogenesis of plantar fasciitis and provide new opportunities for novel imaging options.
Pharmacokinetic behaviour of clinically important TCM prescriptions
Piyush Mehta,Sathiyanarayanan Lohidasan,K. R. Mahadik 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2017 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.17 No.3
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), has played a vital role in human health and welfare for a long period. Traditional Chinese Medicine prescription is the prime application scheme of TCM. Combination of two or more medicinal herbs is one of the most important and fundamental characteristic of TCM prescription. In light of their simplicity and the basic qualities of complex prescription, multi herb formulations (extract, decoction and etc) are of great significance in the considerations of herb compatibility, standardization, safety evaluation, therapeutic potential and mechanism of action of multi herb formulations. Several research papers have been published that state therapeutic activity of multi herb formulations but few are discussing the exact role of herbal combinations. To provide satisfactory data about rationality and compatibility of these TCM prescription and for pharmacokinetic profile, we reviewed the pharmacokinetic profile of 30 different clinically important TCM prescriptions.
Blast design for controlled spreading of the muck piles- a case study
Piyush Rai,Hyung-Sik Yang 한국암반공학회 2010 한국암반공학회 학술대회 및 세미나 자료집 Vol.2010 No.10
Controlled spreading of the blasted muck piles, refer to such cases where an increased throw and the drop of the muck pile become imperative to spread the blasted muck piles on the lower berm of the bench. In this light, the present paper highlights and discusses some pertinent changes in the blast design parameters for such specialized application of blasting in a surface mine, where a sandstone bench, with average height of 22-24 m was to be made amenable to be excavated by 10 m3 rope shovels, with maximum digging capability of up to 14 m. The case study presents the application of state-of-art digital imaging technique to reveal the fragment size and its distribution in the broken muck piles and corroborates it by the performance of excavator.

Escherichia coli is widely used for recombinantprotein production due to its well established geneticmanipulation techniques and cost effectiveness of theassociated production processes. Soluble expression ofheterologous recombinant proteins constitutes a majorproblem in the deployment of bacterial expression systems. We have developed a dps promoter based expressionsystem in E. coli for improved solubility of expressedproteins. The resulting expression system was found to besuperior to the IPTG inducible T7 promoter based pETexpression system for production of soluble β-galactosidase,tdTomato, and mCherry. The dps promoter based expressionsystem was shown to be functional in most commonlyused strains of E. coli without need for prior geneticmanipulation of the host genome.

Design of fractional order analog filter, using a single Operational Transresistance Amplifier (OTRA) as an active current mode building block, is presented. The order of the proposed filter is 1.5. The theoretical results have been verified with PSPICE simulation. Obtained filter was realized using OTRA using the RC-RC decomposition technique. Frequency response for the presented filter is shown in the paper. The proposed filter offers some important features: employing single operational transresistance amplifier as an active element, lower sensitivity, insensitive to stray capacitances and parasitic resistances due to internally grounded input terminals of OTRA. Simulation results agree well with the theoretical values.
Incidental Muscle Uptake of 177 Lu-DOTATATE in Peripheral Vascular Disease

Somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-based imaging and therapy has emerged as well-established modality in neuroendocrinetumors. However, its role in inflammation imaging is still evolving. We present a 48-year-old male with metastatic neuroendocrinetumor who underwent lutetium-177-based somatostatin receptor-based therapy. The post-therapy scan showed afocal tracer uptake in the left calf muscle in addition to the expected tracer uptake at the primary and metastatic sites. Further,cross-sectional imaging and biochemical investigations revealed peripheral vascular disease (PVD). The incidental traceruptake in the calf on post-therapy scan potentiates the role of somatostatin receptor scintigraphy in identifying macrophagespecificinflammatory reactions.
