The essay, dealing with heroic novels of Jin-Yong(金庸), is extracted from professor Chen's latest work, the Form and the Structure of the History of Literature(1999.3, Guangsi Education Publishing). The author of the essay, Chen Ping-Yuan received M. A in literature at Zhongshan University and Ph. D at Beijing University and presently he is the professor of the Chinese literature department and the academic adviser of the doctor's course in Beijing University. His academic concern has wide range, such as 20th century's Chinese literature, modem Chinese history of science, Chines novel and Chinese prose, and it came out in his writings, like Narrative Form of Chinese Novel and Chines Novel of 20th Century. Hitherto, Chinese heroic novel was always under-valued in the field of literature but the enormous popularity of one writer, Jin-Yong, was so powerful that his heroic novel became the matter of scientific concern not mention in Chinese academic world but in the international academic world. The essay, with reflection, criticizes his success from the viewpoint of modern Chinese literature so its subject is the interior case of the Chinese literature. For all, some issues, like the problem of vulgarity in literature, the excessive inclination toward pure literature and the inheritance of the literary tradition, which arise from argument on Chinese heroic novel, are crucial points of the history of Korean new literature. Therefore, our reviewing this essay can be a lesson for studying the history of modern Korean literature.

The advanced node core code CORCA-3D is one of the independent developed codes of NPIC for the nuclear reactor core design. CORCA-3D code can calculate the few-group cross section, solve the 3D diffusion equations, consider the thermal-hydraulic feedback, reconstruct the pin-by-pin power. It has lots of functions such as changing core status calculation, critical searching, control rod value calculation, coefficient calculation and so on. The main theory and functions of CORCA-3D code are introduced and validated with a lot of reactor measured data and the SCIENCE system. Now, CORCA-3D code has been applied in ACP type reactor nuclear cores design.

<P>Gastric cancer is the fourth commonest cancer in the world and the second leading cause of cancer-related death. Investigation of gastric cancer metastasis is one of the hottest and major focuses in cancer research. Growing evidence manifested that primo vascular system (PVS) is a new kind of circulatory system beyond vascular and lymphatic system. Previous researches revealed that PVS is a specific tissue between endothelium and mesenchyme and is involved in cancer, especially in tumor metastasis and regeneration. In current study, we investigated the role of primo vessels in gastric cancer metastasis and its possible relationship to vascular vessels formation. Our results indicated that primo vessels were involved in gastric cancer metastasis. We observed blood vessel-mediated metastasis, primo vessel-mediated metastasis, and an intermediate state between them. We deduced that primo vessels may be precursors of blood vessels. These results possibly provided a thoroughly new theoretic development in cancer metastasis.</P>
Discovery of Endothelium and Mesenchymal Properties of Primo Vessels in the Mesentery

<P>Recent evidences demonstrated that endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT) has a crucial role in cancer and is recognized as a unique source of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). Primo vascular system (PVS) is a new circulatory system which may play an important role in cancer metastasis and regeneration. In the current study, we applied previously established time-saving method to identify primo vessels and further investigated the immunocytochemical properties of primo vessels. Both primo vessels and primary primo vessel cells in the mesentery expressed endothelial markers and fibroblast markers. Double-labeling experiments demonstrated that endothelial and fibroblast markers are coexpressed in primo vessels. In addition, under the stimulation of TGF-<I>β</I>1 <I>in vitro,</I> primary primo vessel cells differentiated into fibroblasts. Therefore, we found that primo vessels in the mesentery had a transitional structure between endothelium and mesenchymal. This is a new finding of EndMT in normal postnatal animals.</P>

Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology is now recognized as an efficient means of transferring power without physical contact. However, frequency detuning will greatly reduce the transmission power and efficiency of a WPT system. To overcome the difficulties associated with the traditional frequency-tracking methods, this paper proposes a Direct Phase Control (DPC) approach, based on the Second-Order Generalized Integrator Phase-Locked Loop (SOGI-PLL), to provide accurate frequency-tracking for WPT systems. The DPC determines the phase difference between the output voltage and current of the inverter in WPT systems, and the SOGI-PLL provides the phase of the resonant current for dynamically adjusting the output voltage frequency of the inverter. Further, the stability of this control method is analyzed using the linear system theory. The performance of the proposed frequency-tracking method is investigated under various operating conditions. Simulation and experimental results convincingly demonstrate that the proposed technique will track the quasi-resonant frequency automatically, and that the ZVS operation can be achieved.
Putative Primo-vascular System in Mesentery of Rats

Primo-vessels have been observed in the rat abdominal cavity as floating threadlike structures on and not adhering to fascia-wrapped internal organs. To date their presence, locations, and lengths have been irregular and unpredictable, and their identification not regularly repeatable, thus they have remained a nagging enigma in primo-vascular system research for several years. In this work, locations were found where primo-vessels were regularly present and observed repeatedly. These vessels were not floating or freely movable but lay in a regular position in the mesentery in the abdominal cavity of the rat, being observed between the cecum and small intestine and between the colon and mesentery root. The difference between a lymph vessel and a primo-vessel is described in anatomical and histological aspects. In addition, trypan blue was found to enter primo-vessels through the surrounding membranes and filled spaces between fibers comprising the primovessels. It is conjectured that the previously observed floating primo-vessels had anomalously and irregularly emerged, for some unknown physiological reasons, from primo-vessels normally located in the fascia-like mesentery.

This study systematically investigated the retention behavior of seven neutral ginsenosides Rg₁, Re, Rf, Rb₁, Rb₂, Rc, Rd, and an acidic ginsenoside R0, the major pharmacologically active components of Radix Ginseng with RP-HPLC. The effects of solvent, pH value, ionic strength of the mobile phase, and column temperature were investigated using an octadecylsiloxane-bonded silica gel column. Based on the ginsenosides’ retention characteristics, the concentration of acetonitrile and the gradient of the mobile phase needed to maintain the baseline separation of the major neutral ginsenosides in Radix Ginseng were theoretically predicted. Furthermore, the ionic strength of mobile-phase necessary to achieve good resolution of the neutral ginsenosides and acidic ginsenosides was carefully investigated. According to the results of the quantitative analysis of ginsenosides in eight batches of ginseng samples from different sources, the developed HPLC technique may be a valuable tool for the quality assessment of Radix Ginseng.

In this study, novel carbon nanotube (CNT) and transition-metal oxides (TMOs) nanoparticle catalysts were prepared and their effects on the thermal decomposition of potassium perchlorate (KP) were investigated. Nanocatalysts have been widely studied because of their excellent properties, such as the high surface energies of nanoparticles and their ease of agglomeration adversely affect their catalytic performances. Good dispersion is the key to good nanocatalytic activity. The composite catalysts were prepared by loading a nanocatalyst on CNTs; this improves nanoparticle dispersion, promotes electron transfer during the reaction, and increases the catalytic effect. Different types of CNT-based composite catalysts and their corresponding single nanocatalysts were each added to KP. The effects of the catalysts on the thermal decomposition of KP were studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The activity of each catalyst was evaluated on the basis of the changes in the thermal decomposition peaks and the apparent decomposition heats. The results show that the activity of a composite catalyst in KP thermal decomposition is much higher than that of its corresponding single nanocatalyst.
